Daily Broadside | DOJ Prosecutes Trump Over Missing Document But Lets Brandon Skate Because “Diminished Faculties”

Via Ace of Spades.

WASHINGTON — Special counsel Robert Hur has declined to prosecute President Joe Biden for his handling of classified documents but said in a report released Thursday that Biden’s practices “present serious risks to national security” and added that part of the reason he wouldn’t charge Biden was that the president could portray himself as an “elderly man with a poor memory” who would be sympathetic to a jury.

“Our investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen,” the report said, but added that the evidence “does not establish Mr. Biden’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.”

I see. So Brandon’s “elderly” age and “poor memory” is a mitigating factor when considering criminal charges, but not when he’s RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!

The report from Hur — who previously appointed by former President Donald Trump as one of the country’s top federal prosecutors — also made clear the “material distinctions” between a theoretical case against Biden and the pending case against Trump for his handling of classified documents, noting the “serious aggravating facts” in Trump’s case.

Yes, “serious aggravating facts” such as Trump’s an “America First” kind of guy and threatens the oligarchy running our country. Or that he’s a Republican. And that he does what is right for the patriotic men and women of Main Street America.

“We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” it said. “Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him — by then a former president well into his eighties — of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”

As Ace explains:

There you go — his impaired cognitive state precludes him from having the culpable mental state of willfulness required by the crime.

Just a refresher, crimes have both an actus reus — the culpable act — and a mens rea — the culpable mind. If you’re out hunting and you accidentally shoot a man wearing a brown coat, mistaking him for a deer, you can’t be prosecuted for murder, which requires intent as a mental state (or such extreme recklessness that shows a depraved indifference to human life).

This particular crime requires “wilfulness,” which is an intermediate mental state, short of “intent,” but a couple of steps above mere negligence (aka carelessness, lack of concern over something the law demands you have concern and care about). It’s something like, “you may or may not have intended to do this thing, but you acted so unconcerned that your actions would result in this thing that we call you ‘willful’ with respect to your indifference to the outcome of your actions.”

Like if you get smashed-out drunk and go for a drive. You may not have intended to kill the person you wind up running over, but you made a series of decisions which were willful in their indifference to the very real possibility you’d kill someone.

Note this doesn’t mean that Biden didn’t have intent — just that the law doesn’t require it. A “higher” mental state, like intent, is always sufficient to satisfy the requirement of a lower one, like willfulness.

But the law says that the state doesn’t have to prove you intended to retain classified information — just that your actions were likely to result in this outcome, and you willfully chose to take those actions anyway.

Instead of prosecuting the crime, the DOJ forecloses that possibility by simply saying, “No one is going to convict him. He’s just a well-intentioned old man who, gosh darn it, had a lapse of memory. Besides, isn’t he cool in those aviator sun glasses?”

This is proof positive that we have an unaccountable organized mob running our country that protects its own and applies the full force of the law to its political enemies. We are no longer living in a “free” country where the rulers fear the people. We live in a country where the people are beginning to fear those in power, who are no longer checked by the law.

Every institution has been captured by the Left and rabid Marxists, and we won’t be able to vote our way out of this.

Have a good weekend.

Daily Broadside | So Claims of Cheating Were Right: Trump Actually Won in 2020

In the run-up to the presidential election of 2016, I was NOT a fan of Donald J. Trump. I didn’t like him because he was loud, abrasive, mean, and had a habit of running his stream-of-consciousness mouth off and boasting about all the winning we would do and how he’d get Mexico to pay for his big, beautiful wall without explaining any of it.

But I also had some private admiration for the man. He had the cojones to raise his hand when Bret Baier asked if any of the Republican candidates for president wouldn’t commit to supporting the eventual nominee. Remember that?

Like him or not, Trump was his own man and completely shook up the establishment in 2016.

After watching him for four years and waking up to the deep state and the vile Obiden team, I enthusiastically voted for Trump, only to watch the election be stolen from me and the other millions of Americans who voted for him.

I’ll never forget the comment that someone wrote at me (yes, “at me”) when I expressed my disbelief that our current administration had legitimately won with “81 million” votes for a guy that campaigned from his basement while Trump was hosting packed stadiums.

She wrote, “That many people hated Trump so much that they voted for Biden.”

No way. No way am I believing that. There were so many credible reports of fraud, not to mention all those votes counted after polling closed as reams of ballots were pulled out from under tables and fed into tabulation machines.

I watched as courts, which should have known better, refuse to hear the lawsuits filed as evidence piled up. I was told that “even judges appointed by Republicans” were refusing to take the cases, as if a judge appointed by a Republican was somehow an unimpeachable fact.

I write all that as prologue because now comes a report that basically proves what I and millions of others have claimed all along: that the 2020 election was stolen and Joe Biden is a fraudulent “president.”

With the 2024 election season in full swing, and a Trump-Biden rematch appearing likely, Americans deserve to know that mail-in voting fraud likely changed the outcome of the 2020 election. In recent years, mail-in voting has become more commonplace. However, in 2020, mail-in voting reached an all-time record due to pandemic policies encouraging mail-in voting.

These abrupt and capricious changes to voting procedures in the months before the 2020 election occurred despite the fact that ample evidence showed that mass mail-in voting, unsecure ballot drop boxes, ballot harvesting, and lack of signature verification would result in a flood of fraudulent ballots that would undermine the accuracy of the election results.

A groundbreaking poll conducted by The Heartland Institute and Rasmussen Reports in November/December 2023 attempted to assess the degree of fraudulent voting that may have taken place. The results were stunning. Some of the most important findings from the poll include:

  • 21% of mail-in voters admitted that in 2020 they voted in a state where they are “no longer a permanent resident.”
  • 21% of mail-in voters admitted that they filled out a ballot for a friend or family member
  • 17% of mail-in voters said they signed a ballot for a friend or family member “with or without his or her permission.”
  • 19% of mail-in voters said that a friend or family member filled out their ballot, in part or in full, on their behalf.

Cleanest, fairest, most transparent election in history!

After examining the raw survey data provided by Rasmussen, we found that 28.2% of all mail-in respondents admitted to committing at least one of the four types of fraud asked in the survey, meaning that more than one-in-four ballots cast by mail in 2020 were likely cast fraudulently, and thus should not have been counted.

This policy study takes the results of the Heartland/Rasmussen survey and applies them directly to the six swing states that Biden won by razor-thin margins in 2020: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Because Biden voters cast mail-in ballots at a much higher rate than Trump voters, any level of fraud almost certainly benefited Biden to a significantly greater degree than Trump.

In addition to the 28.2% fraud scenario, the study analyzes the electoral results for every fraud integer from 27% down to 1%. In every instance except the 3%, 2%, and 1% fraud scenarios, our results indicate that Trump would have won the Electoral College in the 2020 U.S. presidential election had fraudulent mail-in ballots not been counted. Hence, even if the level of fraud detected in the Heartland/Rasmussen survey (28.2% of all mail-in ballots) substantially overstated voter fraud by multiple orders of magnitude, Trump would likely still have won the 2020 election.

Ultimately, our study clearly shows that if the 2020 election had been as free, fair, and secure as past elections have been, Donald Trump would almost certainly have been re-elected to a second term. As the country braces for a Trump-Biden rematch, it is imperative that state legislatures do all that they can to ensure the next election is as secure as possible, primarily by severely limiting mail-in voting and instituting other commonsense policies to prevent mail-in voter fraud. If state lawmakers do not pass measures to thwart the possibility of extensive voter fraud occurring again, more Americans will question the legitimacy of  future elections, further eroding the American people’s trust in our nation’s democratic institutions.

Trump had been riding a wave of a great economy, no new wars, peace agreements in the Middle East, low gas prices because we were drilling our own oil, and illegal aliens had been brought under some sort of control. And we’re supposed to think that Handsy Joe, patriarch of the Biden Crime Family, ginned up enough energy among the people to get the most votes ever recorded?

As if.

Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist testifies before Congress about the harm being done by the types of election “interference” that cost Republicans the 2020 election and threaten the 2024 election.

So…Trump won in 2020, as we all knew he did. And it will be the same in 2024 if the spineless GOP doesn’t start playing hardball with state legislatures. Fortunately, fake conservative Mitt Romney’s niece, Ronna McDaniel, who was appointed by Trump, is finally stepping down as chair of the RNC, which has consistently lost elections under her “leadership”—all while grifting off the unsuspecting, well-intentioned, good conservatives who expect Republicans to be fighting for us.

It’s not much, but it’s a start.

Daily Broadside | Political Hack and Pretend President Brandon is a Fabulist and Americans Don’t Like Him

Before I get to the meat of what I wanted to write about today, subversive anti-American Homeland “Security” Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas faces an impeachment vote in the House of Representatives today. Because Republicans have a narrow majority, it is unlikely that Mayhorkas will be impeached. Even if he is, the Senate won’t convict.

With that drama happening in the halls of the clown show that is Washington, D.C., I give you your “president”:

That’s Joe “Trunalimunumaprzure!” Biden telling his audience that after he became “president” he met with French president Francois Mitterrand and told him, “AmERiCa iS BaCk, bABy!” (slightly edited for clarity). The only difficulty with that (I mean, if you look at it from a certain angle) is that MITTERRAND HAS BEEN DEAD FOR 28 YEARS. Oh, and that Brandon referred to the dead French president as the “Chancellor of Germany.” But other than that, totally right on, Fat.

Those of you who put him in office three years ago, you go right ahead and vote for this pathetic excuse of a politician and “leader” of the free world again this November.

In the meantime you’ll have to work really hard to overcome the headwinds that your brilliant Mensa-level genius faces from president-in-exile Donald J. Trump.

President Joe Biden hit yet another new low in his approval rating (37%) in the latest NBC News poll released Sunday, raising concern of the Democrat pollster, who said the “damning” results show “a presidency in peril.”

Former President Donald Trump not only leads Biden by 5 points (47%-42%) in the national poll, but also leads by big margins:

  • 23 points on mental and physical health to be president (46%-23%)
  • 22 points on handling the economy (55%-33%)
  • 21 points on dealing with crime and violence (50%-29%)
  • 16 points on being competent and effective (48%-32%)
  • 11 points on improving America’s standing in the world (47%-36%)
  • 35 points on securing the southern border (57%-22%)

Illegal immigration has been widely deemed the No. 1 voting issue, according to exit polls in the early GOP primary states.

I’d bold those numbers to emphasize them, but they’re all great.

“On every measure compared to 2020, Biden has declined. Most damning, the belief that Biden is more likely to be up to the job — the chief tenet of the Biden candidacy — has evaporated.”

The numbers look great now for Trump and “difficult” for the incumbent going into the heart of the 2024 primary cycle, according to Republican pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies.

“It is hard to imagine a more difficult set of numbers before a reelection,” McInturff told NBC News.

With 73% of registered voters say the U.S. is on the wrong track under Biden, the only silver lining for the sitting president and Horwitt is there remains time to turn the numbers back around.

Basically, three out of four registered voters think Biden has screwed us up. And he has.

But the momentum in all areas, as the pollsters noted, remains steadily rising for Trump:

  • Border: Trump raised lead from 16 points in September 2020 to 35 points in January 2024.
  • Economy: Trump raised his 7-point lead in October 2020 to 22 points today.
  • Crime and violence: Trump turned a 4-point deficit during the 2020 riots to a 21-point lead today, a swing of 25 points.
  • Competent and effective: Trump flipped a 9-point deficit in June 2020 to a 16-point lead today, another 25-point swing.
  • Mental and physical health to be president: Trump turned a 1-point deficit in October 2020 — when he was hospitalized with COVID-19 — into a 23-point lead today.

All of these numbers are from an NBC poll. NBC is a far-left mouthpiece for the Democrat party; if their polling shows Trump with this kind of lead, the numbers themselves are probably actually better than being reported.

But.

The Democrats, the media, the progressives, the Marxists and the Leftists (is there an echo in here?) will absolutely, positively, wholly, utterly, completely and totally cheat to win the 2024 election. There is no doubt, uncertainty, hesitation, ambiguity, misgivings or skepticism about it.

In a recent article from The Epoch Times (I encourage you to subscribe), author Kevin Stocklin looks back at how a “well-funded cabal” influenced stole the 2020 election and how that will undoubtably affect the 2024 election.

While former President Donald Trump appears to be cruising toward the GOP nomination with a polling lead over incumbent President Joe Biden in key swing states, Republicans will likely face a much steeper climb in the general election than they realize.

Fundamental changes in state election laws, coupled with an alliance of left-wing federal, corporate, financial, and nonprofit entities, have handed the Democratic Party advantages that the GOP may be unable to overcome.

[…]

In 2020, the landscape shifted in the wake of two events: The COVID-19 pandemic and the death of George Floyd in police custody. A narrative emerged that existing state voting laws had to change because they were racist and hazardous to public health.

The 2020 ‘Shadow Campaign’
In a laudatory 2021 article in Time titled “The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election,” author Molly Ball detailed a “well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage, and control the flow of information.”

While praising the effort, Ms. Ball said that the actors “were not rigging the election; they were fortifying it.”

The key to the whole mirage of a non-rigged election were the changes to “rules and laws” that affected how and when people could vote.

The “conspiracy,” as Ms. Ball described it, included DNC operatives, union leaders, tech and social-media companies, Wall Street bankers, and a network of nonprofit donor funds that pooled hundreds of millions of dollars to finance “armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time.”

While the coalition’s purpose, ostensibly, was “saving democracy,” the overriding goal was to keep President Trump from winning a second term.

And the “well-funded cabal” appears to be gearing up for a repeat performance in 2024, with a few new twists.

Interesting that the Left felt the need to “fortify” the election to keep Trump from winning a second term and that, lo and behold!, the results favored them.

The DNC and groups allied with them rely on a five-part strategy to ensure that President Trump didn’t then and will not now get a second term.

That strategy includes intense legal pressure on state election officials to loosen voter integrity laws, a data nerve center that contains personal profiles of voters to predict how they will vote, an alliance of left-wing foot soldiers to bring out Democratic votes in key swing states, a collection of groups capable of bringing violence and mass unrest to cities and towns if called upon, and a network of financing vehicles to fund it all.

It’s not impossible for Trump to win, but after the gross misconduct of the Left in the 2020 election, all bets are off.

Daily Broadside | The Fool at the Top of the Political Heap is At Odds with Islamists and That Concerns You

Let me get the most important story out of the way at the top of the post: Taylor Swift won a record fourth “best album of the year” last night at the Grammys, besting Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder, who each have three.

Woo-hoo.

Now let’s get to the lighter stuff.

I read with interest the latest column by Robert Spencer. If you don’t read Robert Spencer, you should. Spencer is one of the foremost authorities in the U.S. (and possibly the world) when it comes to an outsider’s understanding of Islam, jihad, the Qur’an, and terrorism. He’s written a number of books and, because he views Islam contrary to the (woke) sensibilities of the dominant political climate in the Western world, he has been labeled an anti-Muslim activist, an Islamophobe, an inflammatory speaker, someone who promotes hate, intolerance, and bigotry, and he has been banned from entering the UK because of his work. This in spite of the fact that he was at one time a trainer for the FBI and the U.S. military, both of which now shun him even though he hasn’t changed his views.

In his column titled “Old Joe Biden Has a New Nickname, and This One Isn’t Funny At All,” Spencer writes that Van Jones is putting pressure on Brandon to abandon Israel to Hamas because young Muslims in America are threatening to withhold their votes for him come November.

Jones’ warning comes amid ongoing efforts to force Biden to betray Israel by threatening him at the ballot box. Nihad Awad, the executive director of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), who infamously said that he was “happy” about Hamas’ Oct. 7 jihad massacre of 1,200 Israelis, thundered at a November pro-Hamas rally: “No cease-fire, no votes. No votes in Michigan, no votes in Arizona, no votes in Georgia, no votes in Nevada, no votes in Wisconsin, no votes in Pennsylvania.” These were, of course, the states that allowed Old Joe to pretend to be president over the last three years. Awad concluded: “No votes for you anywhere if you don’t call for a ceasefire now.” Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Ramallah) added: “The American people won’t forget. Biden, support a ceasefire now. Or don’t count on us in 2024.”

Now, according to a Saturday Fox News report, Old Joe is “facing an electoral revolt among Arab and Muslim voters in Michigan who are outraged by his ongoing support for Israel, with some even accusing him of enabling genocide.” They’ve even launched an “abandon Biden” campaign in Dearborn. On CNN, Erin Burnett told Jones about a former Biden campaign prole who told a CNN reporter “that he will not vote for Biden again even knowing that it may help Trump. He says Biden is ‘not somebody I can trust.’” Wow, stop the presses!

A couple of thoughts about this report that don’t directly address the issue of Brandon’s nickname. The first is that “Arab and Muslim voters” are threatening to vote as a block not as Americans, but as Arabs and Muslims. Hatred for Israel is not an American value; it’s an Arab and Muslim value.

This is the problem with unwise and unvetted immigration. I’m sure that many of these “Arab and Muslim” voters have American citizenship, but they aren’t acting in the interests of being American. They’re acting first, perhaps only, as Muslims.

And while you may say that they are free to practice their religion in America just like Christians are free to practice theirs, the difference is that “Christian” and “American” values, while imperfectly practiced, were nearly synonymous for most of our history. We assert the dignity of all human beings, oppose injustice, believe in punishing the offender, protecting women and children, and fighting for the inherent God-given freedoms that all men possess.

That’s not true for adherents of Islam, who believe that Allah, through the Qur’an, commands them to subjugate, oppress and to kill Jews and Christians. So, now that we are looking more like the European contintent that is losing its homogeneity, we have to deal with an increasing tribalism in America, an example of which is a united voting block that puts its Islamic political and religious culture first—a political and religious culture that cuts against what used to define American politics and culture.

The second thing that I want to point out is that Dearborn, Michigan, is home to the largest “Arab American” community in the U.S. “Arab and Muslim voters” are now the majority as the city becomes a Muslim enclave—similar to Hamtramck, MI, home of America’s first Muslim-majority city council—and the effects of the large Muslim presence is felt in places like schools, where all the meat served at lunch is now halal, i.e. sharia compliant, in being “the first U.S. city to offer Eid al-Fitr, one of Islam’s major holidays that marks the end of Ramadan, as a paid holiday for city employees,” and in its leader’s vocal support for Hamas.

That support led to a recent Wall Street Journal opinion piece that called Dearborn “America’s Jihad Capital” and generated a backlash where any questioning of Islam and its political or religious tenets subjects you to accusations of bigotry, Islamophobia, racism and hate.

The WSJ Opinion article titled, “Welcome to Dearborn, America’s Jihad Capital” is written by Steven Stalinsky, Ph.D., an American commenter on Middle Eastern terrorism who has served as the executive director of the Middle East Media Research Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit dedicated to international media analysis, since 1999.

Stalinsky’s article goes on to compare Dearborn’s pro-Palestinian protests over Israel’s response in Gaza to Hamas’ attack on Israel to celebrations of the Oct. 7 massacre in the West Bank.

“Support for terrorism in southern Michigan has long been a concern for U.S. counterterrorism officials,” he writes. “What’s happening in Dearborn isn’t simply a political problem for Democrats. It’s potentially a national security issue affecting all Americans. Counterterrorism agencies at all levels should pay close attention.”

Islam is incompatible with American law, starting with the U.S. Constitution. We fool ourselves if we believe that Islam doesn’t pose a threat to the United States. We will eventually see enclaves that are “no-go zones”, i.e. locations that rule themselves according to sharia law without regard to American norms or constitutional law, and which shut out non-Muslims and any effort to enforce state laws. Those sites will eventually expand to include entire cities, and, given enough time, those will expand to include entire states.

Guaranteed.

Being called “Genocide Joe” is the very least of Brandon’s problems, but what it signifies should be one of the gravest concerns of all freedom-loving Americans.

Daily Broadside | If You’re Looking for a Way to Make a Difference in Politics, You Could Start By Voting

So many “Republicans” are disgusted by American politics that they’re staying home and ceding power to their enemies.

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Turning Point Action, the political arm of conservative movement leader Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA, has identified more than 4.5 million so-called “disengaged” Republican voters in several battleground states around the country, enough to more than swing the 2024 presidential election’s results from 2020.

[…]

“It’s a turnout game,” Kirk, who leads Turning Point, told Breitbart News. “It’s the exact opposite of what people would have believed. I’m very, very focused and have been for quite some time and will continue to be on these numbers. I believe it’s all going to come down to three states. Trump is going to win Iowa. He’ll win Ohio. He’ll win North Carolina by a little bit—it’s not going to be a blowout. He’ll win Florida by a million votes, so I don’t think Trump should even actively campaign in Iowa, Ohio, and Florida. It’s got to be all in on Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin. Georgia, I’m feeling better and better about. Republicans are really coming home. They’re outpacing Democrats 1.5 to one in voter registration. Arizona, I think we’re beginning to get our act together. We’re headquartered there. We have a great new state party chair who really knows what she’s doing. Wisconsin, I’m worried about. The problem is, when I talk to some of these people, they say, ‘Oh my goodness, maybe Pennsylvania.’ I’m not that bullish on Pennsylvania. It’s a big state. If Pennsylvania falls, that means Wisconsin also falls. Look, it’s a turnout election. I really believe that, and it comes down to: Can we really turn out another 50,000 to 60,000 more Republican voters?”

I agree that those states are going to be key.

Here’s the thing: it’s great to identify a huge group of non-voters who could turn the election, but that’s assuming that we’re still dealing with “””normal””” election processes, which we’re clearly not. So not only is it important to target that group of people to commit to vote, it’s crucial to get as many as possible out to vote because if it’s close, the Democrats, the media, the Left, the Marxists and the progressives (but I stutter) can’t cheat their way to victory the way they did in 2020.

But they will try. Oh, how they will try.

The numbers, which Turning Point Action provided to Breitbart News exclusively, are stunning. Across ten battleground states, the group identified 4,571,210 disengaged GOP voters who did not vote in 2016 or 2020. The ten states counted are Florida, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, Ohio, Michigan, Arizona, North Carolina, and Nevada. While Trump won Florida, Iowa, Ohio, and North Carolina in 2020, Democrat President Joe Biden took the other six states—and in each one, the disengaged GOP voters total was more than the margin of Biden’s victory over Trump.

For instance, in Pennsylvania, the margin between Trump and Biden was 80,555. The number of disengaged GOP voters was, per Turning Point Action’s analysis, 589,350—more than seven times the margin. In Michigan, the margin was 154,188 votes by which Biden beat Trump. Turning Point Action found 490,630 disengaged GOP voters there, more than three times the margin.

It was even more profound in places like Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia. In Georgia, the margin was 11,779—and the number of disengaged GOP voters was, per Turning Point Action, 539,480—more than 45 times the margin. In Arizona, the margin between Trump and Biden was 10,457—and Turning Point Action identified 286,440 disengaged GOP voters there, more than 27 times the margin. In Wisconsin, 20,682 votes separated Trump and Biden—and Turning Point identified 542,720 disengaged GOP voters there. That is more than 26 times the margin.

In Nevada, where this conference is taking place, the margin between Biden and Trump in 2020 was 33,596 votes—and Turning Point Action has identified 140,540 disengaged GOP voters in the Silver State, more than four times the margin.

If you don’t want to live in a police state similar to China, you had best get out there and exercise your vote, even if you have to hold your nose while pulling the lever for Trump. As for me, if Trump is the nominee, I will crawl naked over broken glass scattered over hot asphalt to pull the lever for him.

Sitting home and pouting isn’t going to help.

Daily Broadside | Our Fake American Leader Now Has Blood On His Hands

Along with those who fortified the 2020 election, who also have blood on their hands.

Three American service members were killed early on Jan. 28 in a drone attack on a small U.S. base in Jordan, the Biden administration said in a statement. At least two dozen other troops were injured in the incident, U.S. officials said.

They were the first U.S. fatalities after months of strikes by Iranian-backed groups against American forces across the Middle East since the start of the Israel–Hamas conflict in Gaza, the White House and military officials confirmed. President Joe Biden vowed to hold the perpetrators to account; so far, no organization or government has claimed responsibility.

“Today, America’s heart is heavy,” the president said in a Jan. 28 statement. “Last night, three U.S. service members were killed—and many wounded—during an unmanned aerial drone attack on our forces stationed in northeast Jordan near the Syria border.”

U.S. officials are still working to conclusively identify the precise group responsible for the attack but have assessed that one of several Iranian-backed groups is responsible.

This loss of life is a direct result of Joe Biden’s intentional, strategic and treasonous subversion of our military fitness and his feckless priorities.

Under President Donald J. Trump, there were no new wars and our enemies understood that if they crossed us, Trump would deal severely with them. Under Brandon we abandoned Afghanistan and gave our enemies $81 billion in war machines, Russia attacked Ukraine, China has openly threatened Taiwan, North Korea has started lobbing missiles from both coasts, and Iran proxy Hamas savagely attacked Israel.

All because Trump said “pu**y.”

Well, not really. All because Trump is a viable threat to the oligarchy’s rule.

But I digress.

We’ve lost three soldiers and have 27 other casualties as a direct result of Brandon’s fake Americanism. What do you suppose our response will be? “President” Mush-for-Brains is in league with the Iranians and is allowing them to develop nuclear weapons to change the balance of power in the Middle East, something that has B. Hussein Obama’s fingerprints all over it.

President Biden’s statement accused “radical” groups backed by Iran operating in Iraq and Syria for the attacks, saying the United States “will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner our choosing,” without providing more details.

Here’s what he’ll do: he will send a couple of missiles into Iran or find a proxy somewhere to be the scapegoat. Whatever Brandon does, Iran will lose very little sleep over it and will instead use our response to gin up the radicals’ hatred with demonstrations and threats of violence.

And then, maybe, those single men of military fighting age from the Middle East who have crossed our southern border unmolested will “hold those responsible to account at a time and in a manner” of their own choosing.

Like on a train, a plane, or in a car in the center of Times Square.

Daily Broadside | We’re Going to See If Texas Stands Tall

This statement has a feel similar to the Declaration of Independence ennumerating the “long train of abuses and usurpations” endured by the American people.

GOVERNOR GREG ABBOTT
January 24, 2024

The federal government has broken the compact between the United States and the States. The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including immigration laws on the books right now. President Biden has refused to enforce those laws and has even violated them. The result is that he has smashed records for illegal immigration.

Despite having been put on notice in a series of letters–one of which I delivered to him by hand–President Biden has ignored Texas’s demand that he perform his constitutional duties.

* President Biden has violated his oath to faithfully execute immigration laws enacted by Congress. Instead of prosecuting immigrants for the federal crime of illegal entry, President Biden has sent his lawyers into federal courts to sue Texas for taking action to secure the border.

* President Biden has instructed his agencies to ignore federal statutes that mandate the detention of illegal immigrants. The effect is to illegally allow their en masse parole into the United States.

* By wasting taxpayer dollars to tear open Texas’s border security infrastructure, President Biden has enticed illegal immigrants away from the 28 legal entry points along this State’s southern border– bridges where nobody drowns–and into the dangerous waters of the Rio Grande.

Under President Biden’s lawless border policies, more than 6 million illegal immigrants have crossed our southern border in just 3 years. That is more than the population of 33 different States in this country. This illegal refusal to protect the States has inflicted unprecedented harm on the People all across the United States.

James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and the other visionaries who wrote the U.S. Constitution foresaw that States should not be left to the mercy of a lawless president who does nothing to stop external threats like cartels smuggling millions of illegal immigrants across the border. That is why the Framers included both Article IV, sec. 4, which promises that the federal government “shall protect each [State] against invasion,” and Article I, sec 10, Clause 3, which acknowledges “the States’ sovereign interest in protecting their borders.” Arizona v. United States, 567 U.S. 387, 419 (2012) (Scalia, J., dissenting).

The failure of the Biden Administration to fulfill the duties imposed by Article IV, sec. 4 has triggered Article I, sec. 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of self-defense. For these reasons, I have already declared an invasion under Article I, sec. 10, Clause 3 to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself. That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary. The Texas National Guard, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and other Texas personnel are acting on that authority, as well as state law, to secure the Texas border.

Greg Abbott
Governor of Texas

This is a showdown, the SCOTUS decision the other day notwithstanding.

Oh, but they are doing something.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday said he will add more razor wire at the U.S.-Mexico border to prevent more illegal immigrants from entering the United States, coming after the U.S. Supreme Court sided with the Biden administration and allowed federal agents to cut the wire.

“We are adding more razor wire as we speak right now to make sure that we are doing even more to secure the border,” the Texas Republican said in an interview Thursday with Bloomberg TV.

The governor said his state has the authority to defy the U.S. government under the U.S. Constitution because its authors—the Founding Fathers—believed that “there would be times when the federal government does not do its job and states have a right of self-defense.”

In fact, Abbott taking charge and leading the way has inspired 25 other states to support his effort. With Texas, that makes it a MAJORITY of states opposing Brandon’s open border. How’s that for “muh’ democracy”?

It’s a confrontation between two power centers — the state v. the federal government. This is how our first civil war started. A second may be churning under the surface as the two sides square off.

Have a good weekend.

Daily Broadside | Airplane Travel Is Now a Woke Disaster-In-Waiting

You know that when the irrational becomes policy you’re in trouble.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is actively recruiting workers who suffer “severe intellectual” disabilities, psychiatric problems and other mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative spelled out on the agency’s website.

“Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the Federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified for special emphasis in recruitment and hiring,” the FAA’s website states. “They include hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism.”

The initiative is part of the FAA’s “Diversity and Inclusion” hiring plan, which says “diversity is integral to achieving FAA’s mission of ensuring safe and efficient travel across our nation and beyond.” The FAA’s website shows the agency’s guidelines on diversity hiring were last updated on March 23, 2022.

There’s no other word for it but “absurd.” How in the world does hiring people with extreme disabilities achieve the “mission of ensuring safe and efficient travel”? It’s an absurd premise.

You have to wonder where all these severely disabled people will be placed. I mean, are they going to hire people with “complete paralysis” to sit in the control tower at O’Hare to guide airplanes to the correct runway? Or are they going to be hired to work online from home and file violations of FAA regulations?

This is just a way to make sure every class of “victim” in our society has access to government wages. The government can hire anyone it wants and pay them whatever they want because the money isn’t theirs and this is just one more way to break down our morale and keep things crazy.

Are you aware that the federal government is the largest employer in the United States with 2.95 million employees as of September 2023? I’m pretty sure that’s not what the Founders had in mind when they created a centralized federal government that was supposed to be kept in check by three co-equal branches.

I mean, I’m pretty sure.

The FAA, which is overseen by Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s Department of Transportation, is a government agency charged with regulating civil aviation and employs roughly 45,000 people.

Right, this is a FEDERAL agency, which means that Alfred E. Bootyjudge gets to make all kinds of rules based not on passenger safety, but on his personal ideology in which “diversity” is of greater importance than whether an airplane falls out of the sky or collides with another on the ground.

All eyes have been on the FAA and airline industry in recent days after a plug door on a Boeing 737 Max 9 blew out during an Alaska Airlines flight on Jan. 5. The FAA grounded all 737 MAX 9 planes after the incident and is carrying out “extensive inspection” and maintenance work.

Hmm. How could that have happened? It’s almost as if something else has taken priority over making a quality product at Boeing. But what?

You don’t say.

You. Don’t. Say.

Ooohh and look at this! Perhaps the fact that Boeing outsourced its software safety testing to hourly contractors in India has something to do with their decline?

But think of all that time and money they’re saving!

But wait! There’s more!

The CEO of one of the main US airlines is a nut job who flounces about in women’s clothes. And I’m supposed to trust him to make wise decisions regarding my life and safety?

It’s a clown show and we have to live with it, assuming the aircraft doesn’t go down with a flaming intersectionalist at the throttle.

Just wait until the next airplane disaster in which all aboard are killed and it’s traced back to a person with “targeted disabilities” who couldn’t see or hear or reach the emergency button because of “missing extremities” who loved to drag.

What virtue.

Daily Broadside | What Dirt Does the Deep State Have on Amy Coney Barrett?

Some “””conservative.”””

The Supreme Court voted 5–4 vote to allow U.S. Border Patrol agents to remove razor wire that was set up along the U.S.–Mexico border by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, while a legal challenge plays out.

In a brief order, the high court vacated a ruling issued in mid-December 2023 by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh voted to deny the application to vacate that lower court injunction, which would have prevented Border Patrol agents from removing the barrier.

Chief Justice John Roberts, along with Justices Amy Coney Barrett, Ketanji Brown Jackson, Elena Kagan, and Sonia Sotomayor, sided with the Biden administration. No one provided an explanation for their vote.

Roberts is completely unreliable and blows with the wind of political opinion. Coney Barrett, hailed as a rock-solid Catholic conservative, is proving to be a huge disappointment and just as unreliable.

With an invasion of massive proportions, she says it’s just dandy for the federal government to remove razor wire barriers to allow foreigners unimpeded access to the country. If we were processing the illegals and deporting them or testing their claims of hardship, that would be one thing, but we’re in the middle of a full on invasion that is being facilitated by the United States governement.

We’re under occupation by a ruling class that has no interest in enforcing the law.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton isn’t giving up yet, promising “that ‘the fight is not over’ after the Supreme Court granted an emergency appeal by the Biden administration to allow Border Patrol agents to resume cutting razor wire set up by Texas at the southern border.”

“The Supreme Court’s temporary order allows Biden to continue his illegal effort to aid the foreign invasion of America,” Paxton said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“The destruction of Texas’s border barriers will not help enforce the law or keep American citizens safe,” he said. “This fight is not over, and I look forward to defending our state’s sovereignty.”

Since when is a State not allowed to secure its borders? When is it not allowed to protect its citizens? In what way does “federal” law trump “state” law?

If you recall, the first Civil War got started as a dispute over States’ rights. Could this be the flashpoint that starts a new clash? Citizens have had enough too:

TakeOurBorderBack.com

After what the Deep State has put us through with its lying and destruction of evidence while sentencing ordinary Americans to lengthy jail terms over January 6, I’m surprised and pleased that there are still Americans willing to confront the government. But how much you want to bet that anyone who shows up will be photographed, identified, hunted down, arrested, detained indefinitely and then tried and sentenced for treason and sedition in opposing the government’s will?

Once Trump is the nominee, we have to put aside all bickering and close ranks behind him. If Trump is not elected, we face the destruction of our republic and the banishing if not outright national cleansing of conservatives and Christians. There is no room for error.

Politics has become a brawl. We need a fighter. Trump is our last best hope.

Daily Broadside | Now It’s a Two-Horse Race

The only other Republican candidate I would be interested in supporting for president has dropped out of the race, two days before the New Hampshire primary.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has ended his campaign for the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nomination.

On Jan. 21, in a 4 1/2 minute video posted on the social media platform X, the Florida governor announced he had suspended his bid for the presidency. The announcement came two days ahead of the New Hampshire primary.

“Following our second-place finish in Iowa, we’ve prayed and deliberated on the way forward. If there was anything I could do to produce a favorable outcome—more campaign stops, more interviews—I would do it. But I can’t ask our supporters to volunteer their time and donate their resources if we don’t have a clear path to victory,” Mr. DeSantis said in his video message.

While I hate to see DeSantis exit—I truly believe he would be a strong alternative to Trump and I’d like them to go head-to-head—it does create an opportunity for Trump to deliver a crushing blow to Nikki Haley in Tuesday’s primary. As Josh Hammer wrote a couple of days ago:

Nikki Haley should, of course, also drop out. She is going to lose in New Hampshire, and she will get crushed in the upcoming primary in her home state. But as much as Haley’s own brand of uninspiring, corporatist Republicanism may represent an unwelcome return to the GOP’s forgettable Bush-era yesteryear, she is at least polling high enough in New Hampshire where it is not delusional for her to remain in the race through Tuesday’s primary there. The same cannot be said for DeSantis, who polls very poorly in New Hampshire. (DeSantis seems to now be focusing on South Carolina, where he is not faring much better in the sparse recent polling.)

Haley is a paradigmatic spiritual “BoomerCon” (boomer conservative) and doctrinaire neoconservative who, like the Bourbons of old, has “learned nothing and forgotten nothing” from the GOP’s post-2016 course-correcting turn toward nationalism and realism. She is the wrong choice, at the wrong time, to steer the Republican Party—let alone the United States itself—through this era of ascendant populism and de-globalization.

Nikki Haley must be defeated in this primary. Most cross-tab polling this cycle shows that the leading second choice pick for those who would ideally like DeSantis, this columnist very much included, is not Haley—it is Trump. If that is the case, then DeSantis should strongly consider dropping out even before Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary, so as to maximize Trump’s chances of delivering a crushing, campaign-ending defeat to Haley.

Haley, as Hammer writes, is the wrong choice and, I would argue, any time is the wrong time for her to lead the Republican Party or to be the leader of the United States. Nikki Haley is a creature of the system, the swamp, the GOPe, the UniParty. She is not the right person to lead us out of the terrible circumstances we find ourselves in.

Sen. Rand Paul is no fan, so I’ll let him tell you about Haley over at his nevernikki.net.

Based on her record and campaign, I don’t see how any thoughtful or informed libertarian or conservative should vote for Nikki Haley. If you agree, let your voice be heard.

Nikki Haley supports Biden and McConnell and the forever-war crowd on funding for the war in Ukraine.
Her thirst for war is so strong she actually said: “I’m sick of talking about a Department of Defense. I want a Department of Offense.” #NeverNikki

She even personally received millions of dollars from the arms merchants who benefit from the war, a conflict of interest that undergirds her eagerness for foreign military intervention.

This position isn’t new either – as governor of South Carolina she gave tax dollars to those same arms merchants, and they showered her with campaign contributions and a seat on their board when she left office.

While most others were decrying the mistakes of the past 20 years, and fighting for an America First foreign policy, Nikki Haley was aligning herself with and declaring her foreign policy allies to be John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

Nikki Haley believes in nearly unlimited foreign aid — we have sent over $100 BILLION we don’t have to Ukraine already and she wants more. But this also isn’t new.

In her book With All Due Respect, she wrote “Humanitarian Assistance will always be a priority for the United States, we will always be generous.”

But Nikki Haley’s “generosity” with your tax dollars and her support for all foreign aid in the context of a $34 TRILLION dollar debt is in no way libertarian or conservative.

Beyond the issues of endless wars, Nikki Haley’s lack of respect for freedom of speech is shocking to anyone who believes in the constitution.

Nikki Haley believes that all internet posters should be registered and verified. This flies in the face of a free American Republic whose founders wrote anonymously the Federalist Papers and routinely posted newspaper articles and pamphlets under Pseudonyms.

Anyone who doesn’t fully believe in free speech or who wants endless wars has no business anywhere near the White House.

But wait, there’s more.

Nikki Haley routinely praised the mission of the United Nations, the results they achieved, and the people who ran it.

First up, her quote “I believe the U.N. does valuable work.” By that she means your tax dollars since the US is the primary funder of UN.

She repeatedly praised the U.N. Secretary General (former president of Socialist International) and declared that they “think alike.”

Did I mention that I am **Never** Nikki?

Nikki Haley disagreed with President Trump’s decision to pull U.S. troops out of Syria and Afghanistan and defended continued U.S. presence in both places.

If you want to move quickly to domestic policy, in South Carolina, Nikki Haley advocated for a gas tax hike, a state-run vaccine registry and never lifted a finger for school choice.

I am Never Nikki and I hope you will be too.

So if you’re a fan of the United Nations, want all content creators on the Internet to be registered with the government, and think spending billions of dollars on endless wars is fabulous, Nikki Haley is your candidate. But I implore you: don’t do it.

She’s also been exposed as having had two affairs before becoming governor of South Carolina. I wouldn’t necessarily mention it, but Never Trumpers point out that Trump has had many affairs. If a solid marriage was a tie-breaker for you, I’m taking that piece off the board.

Presidential candidate Nikki Haley falsely denied cheating on her husband when she was accused of engaging in two extramarital affairs during her gubernatorial campaign, multiple sources who worked with her claim.

New witnesses have come forward telling DailyMail.com that Haley’s denials of two alleged 2008 affairs are false, and that the supposed trysts were brazen and widely known among South Carolina politicos.

Will Folks, 49, and Larry Marchant, 61, both signed affidavits in 2010 alleging they had a sexual relationship with the then-South Carolina lawmaker, before she went on to become governor.

While the contents of the affidavits were described by major news outlets at the time, this is the first time they have been published outside of Folks’ own document which he published on his blog.

Haley, 51, denied both at the time, saying she was ‘100% faithful’ to the father of her two children and husband of 28 years, Michael Haley – who was deployed in Afghanistan with the National Guard in 2012.

Here’s another reason I don’t like Haley.

“You may be wondering how ‘Bill’ became South Carolina First Gentleman Michael Haley,” Haley wrote in her book. “After we started dating, I looked at him one day and said, ‘What’s your name?'”

“‘You know it’s Bill,’ he said, puzzled.”

“‘You just don’t look like a Bill. What’s your whole name?'”

“‘William Michael.'”

“From that point on, I started calling him Michael, and all my friends did the same. When he transferred to Clemson his sophomore year, my friends became his friends, and before we knew it, he was universally known as Michael. Everyone who knew him before I did knows him as Bill, and everyone who met him after I did knows him as Michael.”

“He looks like a Michael,” she wrote.

A woman who forces a man to change his name? Maybe Bill Michael was love struck and didn’t care. Maybe he’s a wimp. Whatever it was, I have little respect for either of them.

Close ranks and get behind Donald J. Trump. Yes, I have issues with the man; if there was someone else who could do what he does (I thought it was Ron DeSantis) I’d be all for that person. But the truth is, we can’t afford another four years—EVER—of the Democrats and the Deep State that supports them. We need someone in there who will right the ship of state before it’s dashed to pieces on the rocks. We’re in the shallows, we’re being battered, we’re taking on water, and we need a person in there who can punch back twice as hard.

And we need to pile up the votes so that they can’t cheat again. #BeatTheCheat
