Daily Broadside | Anti-Semitism Raises Its Ugly Head in The US and Kills A Jewish Man

On Sunday Michael Brown wrote at The Stream:

I am urging you. I am pleading with you. I am imploring you. Wake up! The irrational hatred of the Jewish people and the demonizing of Israel is reaching proportions so dangerous that if people of conscience do not stand up, speak out, and push back, Jewish blood will start flowing in America, England, and many other countries around the world. Wake up!

When Muslims in Sydney Australia are chanting, “Gas the Jews” you know that violence is near.

When Jewish students at a university here in America have to hide in a library in fear for their lives, you know that violence is near.

When Jewish children in Germany are afraid to go to school and parents warn their children not to wear the Star of David in public you know that violence is near.

When I post an image of the Israeli flag on Facebook and draw comments like, “Children killer. Hospital bombers” you know that violence is near.

When a BBC headline reads, “British Jews are ‘full of fear, like I’ve never seen before’,” you know that violence is near.

When Rep. Rashida Tlaib can post a 2024 election warning to President Biden, featuring crowds chanting “From the river to the sea” – meaning, no more State of Israel – you know that violence is near.

Wake up!

What I think he was referring to is the possibility of full-on worldwide Jewish persecution like the Holocaust under Adolph Hitler in World War II. I don’t think he was thinking his prophetic words would be fulfilled that very day—in America, of all places.

A 69-year-old man demonstrating in support of Israel died Nov. 6 after sustaining a head injury during a fight with a pro-Palestinian protester at a weekend rally in Thousand Oaks, about 40 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

This is the only report I’ve found that says Mr. Kessler’s injuries were the result of “a fight.”

The Ventura County medical examiner has ruled Paul Kessler’s death a homicide, and the county sheriff’s office has not ruled out a hate crime. Mr. Kessler was Jewish, according to the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles.

Officials say Mr. Kessler was attending the rally Sunday afternoon when he became involved in an altercation with a counter-protester who was demonstrating nearby at a pro-Palestinian event.

Below I link to a post from Red State reporting that the pro-Palestinian protestor who assaulted Kessler was led to the corner where Kessler was counter-protesting on behalf of Israel. in other words, this wasn’t the chance encounter of two groups meshing in the same spot.

The incident happened at the intersection of Westlake Boulevard and Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Ventura County.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office responded to the altercation after several citizens called 9-1-1 to report a battery at about 3:20 p.m.

Deputies arrived to find Mr. Kessler suffering from a head injury. Witnesses told police he fell backwards during the fight and struck his head on the ground. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries Monday, the sheriff’s office reported.

The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office determined Mr. Kessler died from blunt-force head injury, according to the sheriff’s office.

Here’s a clip of Mr. Kessler lying on the ground after the assault and LE had arrived.

Over at Red State there’s a more in-depth report with several videos.

During the November 5 protest, eyewitnesses say that [a known agitator] led an older gentleman over to the corner with the Shell station (across from where the bulk of the pro-Hamas faction were located), to where Mr. Kessler was, as if he was pointing Kessler out to the older gentleman.

The pro-Hamas faction were located on the southwest corner of the intersection, in front of Paul Martin’s American Grill.

Eyewitnesses, who have shared this information and their photos and videos, say the attack happened within five minutes of the time the agitators went to the corner where Kessler was. The eyewitness doesn’t have video of the moment the attack occurred, but says that the gray-haired, bearded man in khaki pants is the man who confronted Kessler then hit him in the head with the bullhorn.

The man who allegedly assaulted Mr. Kessler is the heavyset guy in the blue-ish shirt below. He apparently called 9-1-1 and was cooperative with authorities. And while there’s no video of the incident made public (yet) the report in Robby Starbuck’s post says police have seized his phone.

In the screengrab the alleged assailant stands with an officer as Mr. Kessler is prepped inside the ambulance for transport to the hospital. The man is reportedly “a college professor and ardent Muslim.”

Mr. Kessler’s death has been ruled a homicide, which means it was caused by another person. Whether or not it will become a “murder” has yet to be determined. In ultra-liberal California, it’s anybody’s guess.

So now we have the death of a Jewish man in the streets of America. It’s happened before, but not in an environment as hostile as this one. We’ve imported thousands of Middle Eastern Muslim Arabs and Palestinians who are doing what they do in every country they inhabit: agitate and protest in a mob that demands the death of the ultimate Out-Group: the Jews.

#DiversityIsOurStrength

And don’t forget that after the Jews, it’s the Christians. You may want to heed Dr. Brown’s warning:

In light of all this, and with tremendous urgency in my spirit, I urge every person of conscience, every lover of justice, everyone who fears and honors God.

Please, today, speak out against the demonization of Israel and the Jewish people.

Categorically denounce Hamas and distance yourself from those who support Hamas (and Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah and the rest of these terrorist groups).

[…]

But without hesitation and without shame, you must raise your voice in support of Israel and the Jewish people now, letting the haters know that when they come against Israel, they are coming against you. It really is a matter of life and death.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem—and for peace here in the United States.

Daily Broadside | Terrorist Attack in Heartland Gets Virtually No Coverage

In the early 2010s I started warning my Facebook community to pay attention to the occasional attacks by Islamic jihadis in America. Most of them were lone wolf attacks, like the attempted car bombing in Times Square in 2010, or the beheading in Oklahoma in 2014, or the multiple stabbings in Minnesota in 2016, or the one in New York in 2023.

There’s lots more like those, but generally, you don’t hear about jihadi attacks that often. You’d think that if there were one, you’d hear about it.

At a news conference on Wednesday, North Dakota authorities said that the shooter responsible for the death of a Fargo Police Department officer and the injury of two other officers used 1,800 rounds of ammunition, a grenade and other explosives to unleash a “murderous barrage of fire.”

Mohamad Barakat, 37, was fatally shot by Officer Zachary Robinson, 31, authorities said. Officer Jake Wallin, 23, was killed, while officers Andrew Dotas, 28, and Tyler Hawes, 22, were critically injured. A woman was also shot, but authorities have not said who shot her.Fargo’s police chief has said Barakat’s motive was unclear.

Fargo’s police chief has said Barakat’s motive was unclear.

“In the wake of Mohamad Barakat’s murderous, unprovoked attack, Officer Zach Robinson’s use of deadly force was reasonable, it was necessary, it was justified, and in all ways, it was lawful,” North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley told reporters. “Mohamad Barakat engaged in a savage attack. … He unleashed what can only be described fairly as a murderous barrage of fire. But that isn’t to say it wasn’t precise. In fact, it was.”

Did you know that an Islamic jihadist attack had happened? No? You’re not alone.

It’s all been hush-hush.

In the week since the July 14 attack took place, authorities have resisted providing any specifics about the Muslim terrorist or his motive. Flag Family Media, a local radio station, had its request for information about Mohamad because it had already all been turned over to the FBI.

Mohamad’s neighbors in the Fargo housing complex claimed that he was quiet and refused to interact with them. “He didn’t want to be around you and of course that made you not want to be around him.”

Why then was Mohamad in America? As previously revealed by a Front Page Magazine investigation, decades of aggressive refugee resettlement has fundamentally changed the face of this quintessentially American city. 8% of Fargo is foreign born and Somalis, Iraqis and other Muslim refugees outnumber Hispanics in the school system. The nearby mega-mosque, blocks from where Mohamad carried out his attack, and Muslim businesses attracts other arrivals.

Our best boys at the FBI interviewed Mohamad in 2021 but didn’t see any threat.

The heavily armed man who killed one Fargo police officer and wounded two as they were investigating a traffic stop earlier this month had been interviewed about his guns in 2021 after the FBI received a tip, but it was determined he had done nothing illegal and no further action was taken, authorities said Thursday.

In a statement in response to questions from The Associated Press, the FBI and Fargo Police Department said the FBI received an anonymous tip about Mohamad Barakat in July 2021 in which the tipster expressed concern about Barakat’s mental state, saying he had access to a “significant number of firearms” and had used threatening language.

But no worries! He hasn’t done anything illegal — yet. Besides, we’ve got Trump to frame and sidewalk counselors at abortion clinics to harass and they haven’t done anything illegal either!

All I’ll say is that our so-called “leaders” haven’t learned anything about the nature of Islamic jihadists or, if they have, don’t want to face it because it causes tension over their goals of diversity, inclusion and equity (DIE).

Pay attention.

Daily Broadside | Awesome Leadership Skills Only Show Up When No One Is Looking

Daily Verse | Isaiah 48:17
“I am the Lord your God,
who teaches you what is best for you,
who directs you in the way you should go.”

Monday’s Reading: Isaiah 52-57

Monday and I’m back after a week away. Even though I couldn’t check in with the Daily Broadside, I kept an eye on political shenanigans and the more serious developments in Washington, D.C., while I was gone.

Perhaps the most surprising event was the killing of Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al-Qaeda. He was Usama bin Laden’s deputy during the 9/11 attacks and took over al-Qaeda after UBL was killed in 2011. Now both of them have gone to their reward, and thank God they’ve been removed from this world.

As regular readers of the Broadside know, I’m no fan of Joe Biden or his cabal of imposters in Washington, D.C. But credit where credit is due: they apparently learned where this cretin was, obtained detailed intelligence that confirmed his identity, put together a plan based on long-term observation of al-Zawahiri’s habitual routines, then eliminated him with a precision drone strike that killed him and caused no collateral damage, i.e., civilian casualties, including his wife and children.

So, props to Biden for approving the plan and his posse for pulling it off. The dirtbag got what he deserved.

However.

I literally laughed out loud when I read a report of how the assassination was approved.

On July 1, Biden was briefed on a proposed operation in the White House Situation Room by key members of his Cabinet, including CIA Director William Burns, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines and National Counterterrorism Center Director Christine Abizaid, as well as other national security officials.

“The president was, as always, deeply engaged in the briefing and immersed in the intelligence. He asked detailed questions about what we knew and how we knew,” the official explained, noting that the president sought explanations of “lighting, of weather, of construction materials and of other factors that could influence the success of this operation and reduce the risk of civilian casualties.”

“He was particularly focused on ensuring that every step had been taken to ensure the operation would minimize that risk and he wanted to understand the basis upon which we had confidence in our assessment,” the official continued.

Biden then directed the intelligence community to prepare a series of impact analyses that he could fully understand, and directed that the U.S. government be “prepared to manage the ramifications of the strike in the region and beyond.”

[…]

Biden and officials met multiple times in person in the White House Situation Room over the course of June and July to “pressure test” the intelligence.

“At the conclusion of the meeting, the president authorized a precise, tailored air strike on the condition that a strike minimize, to the greatest extent possible, the risk of civilian casualties,” the official explained, noting that meant the government could conduct a strike “once an opportunity was available.”

“Deeply engaged”?

“Immersed in the intelligence”?

“Asked detailed questions”?

He “sought explanations of lighting, of weather, of construction materials and of other factors that could influence the success of this operation”?

He “directed the intelligence community” and “the U.S. government”?

LOL.

The undistinguished bumbling idiot who can only speak using a teleprompter (and most of the time, not even then), who is hustled away as soon as the press starts asking questions, who looks lost on stage when he finishes a “speech,” who has to be instructed, “YOU take YOUR seat,” who has been on the wrong side of every major policy decision for the last 50 years, including disagreeing with the strike that killed Usama bin Laden—this moron is somehow “deeply engaged” and laser focused and asking detailed questions about lighting, the construction materials and the weather in Kabul, Afghanistan, as though he’s gamed it out in his head and is on par with intelligence experts and is directing intelligence agencies to provide him with “impact analyses” for him to scour so he can determine the right course of action?

Really?

REALLY?

No, he’s not.

First, Brandon and his gang lie to our face every single day. The border is closed. We’re not in a recession. The economy is the best ever. Raising taxes will reduce inflation.

You can’t trust a word they say.

Second, the media is only too happy to support this administration and their lies. Anything that makes Brandon look competent will be prominently displayed across their pages. This is clearly a report made-for-the-press to prop up an unpopular party boss who is going to be shellacked come November (assuming toilets can hold their water in Arizona).

Third, the claim is not verifiable. The planning was done in secret of necessity, but how conveeEeenient that no one objective was there to see this Great Man Working His MajickTM. The description of what happened makes Brandon sound like some kind of take-charge leader who is in the middle of all the planning and commands his staff with a firm hand.

I don’t buy it.

The take down of al-Zawahiri was bound to be a significant event that most Americans would perceive positively and connecting Brandon as tightly to it as possible a couple of months before the mid-terms is a cynical way to boost his ratings. But that senior administration official’s report is the greatest instance of gaslighting I’ve ever read.

Good for Brandon that he took down al-Zawahiri. But don’t expect me to believe that he was capable of anything more than nodding his approval before he had his tapioca pudding and went to bed.
