Daily Broadside | Joe is Perfect and This is Fine

Daily Verse | Hebrews 6:19
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.

Friday’s Reading: Hebrews 8-10
Saturday’s Reading: Hebrews 11-13

It’s Friday and as we head into the weekend, some good news for those of us who can’t wait for Joe Brandon to be kicked to the curb in 2024.

As Stephen Green reported in this article at PJ Media,

Gallup recently updated its long-term party affiliation poll, which asks American voters one or two simple questions:

– In politics, as of today, do you consider yourself a Republican, a Democrat or an independent?
– (If they ID as independents) As of today, do you lean more to the Democratic Party or the Republican Party?

Currently, 31% say they’re Republicans, up slightly from the usual mid-20s to 30%. 41% told Gallup that they’re independent voters, in line with the average swing. Only 27% self-ID as Democrats, which is down from the more typical 29-32%.

[…]

But it’s the second question that should have Washington Democrats changing their shorts.

Indies, asked whether they lean towards the Democrats or the GOP, broke for the GOP 47% to 41%.

If you’d like to see for yourself, here’s the link.

Half of all independent voters leaned Democrat as Resident Biden was [criminally] inaugurated on January 20. Since then, the Democrats have lost 9% of Indies. Conversely, Republicans started with 41% of independents in January and have picked up 6% since.

This is, of course, due to the flagrant incompetence and moral corruption of the current administration, which has left normal Americans bearing the financial cost of raging inflation.

In another poll conducted by Morning Consult/Politico, they found that more independent voters support Trump running for president in 2024 (31%) than they do Brandon (23%). Of course, the flip side is that 67% of independent voters say Biden should not run for a second term while 59% don’t believe Trump should seek reelection.

With independent voters abandoning Democrats, Republicans should feel the wind in their sails. As Green says,

At this time in Barack Obama’s first term, the breakdown was a much more Dem-friendly 25R/41I/32D. And the Indy swing was exactly reversed, 41R/47D.

Yet the Democrats still lost a whopping 63 seats in the House and seven more in the Senate in the following midterm election.

In yet another sign of how Democrats have lost their grip on the electorate, Biden’s support among Hispanics has also cratered. In their article, “Biden Has Lost Support Across All Groups Of Americans — But Especially Independents And Hispanics,” FiveThirtyEight found that,

Recent polling suggests that Hispanic approval of Biden’s handling of the pandemic and the economy has fallen sharply. The latest poll from The Economist/YouGov found just 45 percent of Hispanics approved of Biden’s handling of the pandemic, compared with 65 percent in early June. And Politico/Morning Consult’s new survey found Hispanic approval of Biden’s handling of the economy has dropped to 42 percent, compared with 60 percent back in June. Hispanics are also frustrated with how Biden has dealt with immigration — long one of Biden’s weakest issues in the public’s eyes — and although it isn’t the most important issue for Hispanic voters, it is often a highly salient one. Earlier this month, Quinnipiac University found that only 23 percent of Hispanic Americans approved of Biden’s work on immigration, down from 49 percent in late May. Even if that might be on the low end for Biden, the new Politico/Morning Consult survey also found him performing more poorly on the issue among Hispanic voters, as just 40 percent approved, compared with 51 percent in June.

I … am … laughing!

The Democrats and cultural Marxists (but I repeat myself) are flooding the country with Hispanics, believing that they will vote Democrat and keep the progressive commies in power. But it’s looking like it might be backfiring spectacularly. Wouldn’t that be poetic justice if in abolishing We the People and replacing them with another, the Dems still lost power?

In another article about the same poll, MSNBC writes,

But it’s possible that no political development worries blue America’s operatives more than Hispanic voters’ rightward drift.

Biden’s approval rating has declined with just about every demographic. But no racial or ethnic group has soured on the president more than Hispanics, according to FiveThirtyEight’s aggregation of all available polls.

In one recent survey from The Wall Street Journal, Hispanic voters were about evenly split between Republicans and Democrats on the question of which party they intended to support in next year’s midterms. And in a hypothetical Biden versus Trump rematch, the two candidates were statistically tied among Hispanics. The poll is an outlier, and its sample of Hispanic voters is small. But such a result would scarcely be possible in a world where Hispanic support for the Democratic Party was at remotely normal levels.

Of course, all this comes in the wake of an election that saw the GOP gain eight points among Hispanic voters, according to the Democratic data firm Catalist.

Finally, the most recent Rasmussen Reports “finds that, if the elections for Congress were held today, 48% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Republican candidate, while 39% would vote for the Democrat.”

The nine-point edge for Republicans in the latest poll is still larger than Democrats enjoyed at any time during the 2018 midterm campaign, due both to greater GOP partisan intensity and a 17-point advantage among independents. While 87% of Republican voters say they would vote for their own party’s candidate, only 80% of Democrats would vote for the Democratic candidate. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 44% would vote Republican and 27% would vote Democrats, while nine percent (9%) would vote for some other candidate and 20% are undecided.

On top of all this, 20 House Democrats are not seeking re-election in 2022, which means that keeping their majority just got that much harder.

Yeah, everything right now is looking like a political tsunami is building that will completely wipe out the Democrats in 2022. Yet Nancy Pelosi can gush at a Democratic National Committee holiday celebration,

And Mr. President, it is an honor and, of course, a pleasure to be here at this time of challenge — and with the coronavirus, the national insecurity for families, natural disasters.

Our country could not be more — it could not be better served, than with this most experienced, capable hands than yours, President Biden. He’s just perfect! The timing couldn’t be better.

Nancy as a meme:

Right. Don’t get cocky. But enjoy the general downward trajectory of all things commie Democrat.

Have a great weekend.

Daily Broadside | Another New Poll Confirms We’re Done With Biden

Daily Verse | 1 Timothy 6:6-8
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

Friday’s Reading: 2 Timothy 1-4
Saturday’s Reading: Titus 1-3

It’s Friday and we’re headed into the weekend, although the communist junta running our country never rests. You can be assured that they’re aware they only have so much time to inflict maximum damage on our nation through lawlessness, lies, and the perversion of our core institutions like the military, our congressional norms, the Executive Branch, commerce, education, law enforcement, and the judiciary before the voters throw them out, (hopefully forever, but don’t bank on it), starting with the midterms in 2022.

Resident Biden continues to poll in negative territory, with more just-released polls:

[Resident] Biden‘s standing with Americans remains in negative territory heading into the final few weeks of 2021.

The [so-called] president stands at 43% approval and 51% disapproval in a NPR/Marist national survey released on Thursday. A day earlier, a national poll from Monmouth University indicated a 40% approval and a 50% disapproval. Both surveys were conducted in recent days.

An average of all the most recent national polls compiled by Real Clear Politics puts Biden’s approval at 42% and his disapproval at 52%. The average included a large survey from The Wall Street Journal conducted last month that had the [resident] well underwater, at 41%-57%.

In the NPR/Marist report, they found that:

The [so-called] president’s approval rating was just 42% in this survey, tied with a late November poll for the lowest Marist had found since Biden took office.

What’s more, the intensity of disapproval is high — 38% said they strongly disapprove of Biden. That’s close to the territory that President Donald Trump resided in during his term. [Yeah, but Trump had a hostile media, the deep state, and Russia collusion working against him; not so with Biden. — dlo]

While the numbers are a sign of a deeply polarized society, there’s also evidence of lackluster feelings for the [resident] among even people in his own party.

For example, in the survey, while 76% of Republicans strongly disapproved of the job Biden is doing, only 38% of Democrats strongly approved.

Don’t forget that NPR is a left-wing mouthpiece, so any data they share is suspect. Plus, most polling groups oversample Democrats in order to skew results in favor of the Left.

Nonetheless, there’s no getting around just how hard Biden is failing. And don’t forget that only 22% of voters want Biden to run for reelection, and only 12% want Value Pick Harris to run again. Those are unfathomably grim numbers.

Biden’s poll numbers are about the only thing that’s encouraging about this administration.

Of course, we’ve had a couple of successes in blocking some of his more radical moves. His nominee for comptroller of the currency, Saule Omarova, withdrew her name from Senate consideration. “The comptroller of the currency,” writes CNBC, “regulates about 1,200 nationally chartered banks with total assets of around $14 trillion, representing two-thirds of the U.S. banking system.”

You may have heard that Omarova was born in the Soviet Union, attended Moscow State University, called for the destruction of the oil, gas, and coal industries and the elimination of private bank accounts in favor of the Fed holding your money. She’s a straight-up Marxist-Leninist.

Gee, what could possibly go wrong were she appointed to the office?

Then there’s all of Biden’s vax mandates that have taken it on the chin as court after court has blocked them because the U.S. Constitution doesn’t give him that power. Now it sounds like all his mandates have been blocked.

Although we might call them “wins,” they’re really only tactical victories, not strategic victories. Biden assaults the public with his extremist nominees and policies, and we have to act on the defensive to turn them aside. With a presumed Republican House and Senate after the midterms, he’ll be dead in the water (assuming we don’t get more Fake Conservatives like Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney). In order to really get something done, we need to hang onto the majorities for the next couple of years and then win a convincing victory in the 2024 presidential election.

Unfortunately, there’s no guaranteeing a win because our elections have been compromised and the Democrats have tasted the spoils of cheating and foul play. You think they’re going to sit back, especially if Trump is the nominee?

Nothing seems to change by voting harder … but, still, we vote in the hopes that we can wrest our country from its enemies and avoid the inevitable bloodshed that will come if we don’t.

That’s not hyperbole, my friends.

Finally, I leave you with another bit of evidence that even though we live in dismal times, there are pockets of hope that some of our institutions can occasionally function and do the right thing:

Have a good weekend.

Daily Broadside | Money Can’t Buy You Love, But it Can Buy You an Election

Daily Verse | Mark 7:20-23
[Jesus] went on: “What comes out of a man makes him ‘unclean.’ For from within, out of men’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man ‘unclean.'”

Friday’s Reading: Mark 8-10

It’s Friday, my friends. Thanks for hanging with me another week. We’re halfway through October so you should start thinking about what you’re gonna be for Halloween. Unless it gets cancelled by Fauci or something.

The New York Post reported on Wednesday that Mark Zuckerberg, the uber-wealthy founder of Facebook, poured $419 million dollars into the 2020 presidential election. Not directly, but through non-profits that focused on getting out the vote for Democrats, i.e. Joey Sugar Cone.

During the 2020 election, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg spent hundreds of millions of dollars to turn out likely Democratic voters. But this wasn’t traditional political spending. He funded a targeted, private takeover of government election operations by nominally nonpartisan — but demonstrably ideological — nonprofit organizations.

Analysis conducted by our team demonstrates this money significantly increased Joe Biden’s vote margin in key swing states. In places like Georgia, where Biden won by 12,000 votes, and Arizona, where he won by 10,000, the spending likely put him over the top.

This unprecedented merger of public election offices with private resources and personnel is an acute threat to our republic and should be the focus of electoral reform efforts moving forward.

The 2020 election wasn’t stolen — it was likely bought by one of the world’s wealthiest and most powerful men pouring his money through legal loopholes.

The Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL) and the Center for Election Innovation and Research (CEIR) passed a staggering $419.5 million of Zuckerberg’s money into local government elections offices, and it came with strings attached. Every CTCL and CEIR grant spelled out in great detail the conditions under which the grant money was to be used.

Four hundred and nineteen MILLION dollars. You do know that $500 million is half a billion dollars? Only $81 million more Zuck bucks needed.

Who can compete with that kind of money?

In an editorial by the Post Editorial Board, they write,

Of 25 CTCL grants of $1 million or more to cities and counties in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia, 23 went to places Joe Biden won.

In Georgia, Doyle found, counties that received Zuck bucks were, on average, 2.3 points more Democratic in 2020 than 2016; non-funded counties barely moved.

All of this was happening in a close-fought race, with just tens of thousands of votes out of millions swinging the crucial Electoral College wins that sent Biden to the White House.

Also on Wednesday, Ann Coulter wrote about big money from George Soros swaying elections for District Attorneys across the country.

Liberal moneybags George Soros has spent millions of dollars installing criminal-friendly prosecutors around the country. (Back before it was “anti-Semitic” to mention Soros’ pro-murder campaign, The New York Times ran an article boasting of the old prune’s role in electing inert prosecutors, like Foxx.)

A few hundred thousand dollars dumped into a minor DA’s race is more than enough to decide an election. Soros has spent millions. [Kim] Foxx was Soros’ first success in electing DAs who would refuse to put another black man in prison.

An article at The Heritage Foundation explains what Soros is trying to do.

Foxx was a harbinger of things to come, when four years ago she became the first George Soros-backed rogue prosecutorial candidate to win.

The Washington Post said that, at that time, he had “plunked $300,000 into a [political action committee] created to elect Kim Foxx.”

Up for re-election this year, Foxx again is the beneficiary of Soros’ largesse, as he has already pumped at least $2 million into the Illinois Justice & Safety PAC to help her get re-elected.

But what’s all that money buying? And why is Soros so interested in county district attorney races?  As we’ve written elsewhere, it’s because he and his prosecutorial puppets are seeking to “reimagine” and fundamentally transform our criminal justice system from an adversarial system pitting prosecutors against defense counsel, to a system where criminal defense attorneys, beholden to the movement, take over DA offices and enact non-prosecution policies.

So here we have two cases of liberal billionaires leveraging their wealth to procure electoral outcomes that they personally desired. Two guys are having an outsize influence on our elections, creating an unfair advantage for one political party over the other.

Again, who can compete with this kind of money?

Are you okay with this severe imbalance? Are you okay that, generally speaking, one person determined the outcome of the presidential election and gave us Joseph Robinette Biden?

Are you okay with basically one person ruining our cities by purchasing the election of rogue DAs?

Why are our elections susceptible to this kind of influence?

Where the heck are the GOP legislators? Why aren’t they raising hell about this?

How can we believe we have “free and fair” elections when they can essentially be determined by the uber-wealthy class, against whom the plebes can’t compete?

This is an outrage. We should demand that something be done to eliminate this kind of lopsided favoritism from billionaires who can essentially operate with impunity while degrading the voting process for all Americans.

This is part of the reason why America is being overrun by progressive Marxists. They’re being funded by partisan zillionaires.

Have a good weekend.

Daily Broadside | Now Do You Believe Me? Biden Nominates Soviet-Educated Commie to Run Nation’s Banking System.

Daily Verse | Zechariah 7:9-10
“This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. In your hearts do not think evil of each other.'”

Happy Friday and welcome to the first day of October. I work so that my cats can have a better life.

Yesterday I wrote about Australia and how their crazy is straining to come here. Well, here’s a new video putting the rhetoric and the reality into perspective for you.

It sounds like our own political class, no? Just a little reinforcement of yesterday’s commentary, although that’s not what I want to focus on this morning.

You want to know how bat-guano crazy our Dear Leader is? He and his ilk seem hell-bent on destroying this country as founded, mostly by turning it into some kind of pinko commie dictatorship, a la the Soviet Union. You know how I know (besides the literal socialists and commies in the administration and in the Democrat party)? Here’s how I know:

Terrifying: Biden Is Nominating Soviet-Trained Radicals Now

Not kidding. Resident Sugar Cone has nominated a woman who was literally educated at “the Soviet Union’s Moscow State University in 1989 on the Lenin Personal Academic Scholarship,” according to Stephen Green’s article.

Omarova graduated from the Soviet Union’s Moscow State University in 1989 on the Lenin Personal Academic Scholarship, according to the Wall Street Journal. As recently as 2019, she was still praising the USSR’s economic system as in some ways superior to our own. “Say what you will about old USSR, there was no gender pay gap there. Market doesn’t always ‘know best.’”

What is it with these free radicals that can’t help gushing about how awesome some failed communist state was back in the day? Fortunately, Green knows more than I do about the glorious Soviet economy and torpedoes Omarova’s rosy recollections.

As a matter of fact, I will say what I will about the old USSR.

Teachers there were paid the same as doctors — because medicine was considered “women’s work” and both were paid crap numbers of worthless rubles. Sexism and central mismanagement, all in one murderously totalitarian package.

There’s a reason the USSR is defunct and the U.S. isn’t — at least until Omarova gets her way.

But does Omarova let some pesky facts stand in the way of her nutty ideas? Nah.

Omarova’s goal is the eventual elimination of private banking and the establishment of the Federal Reserve as the nation’s only bank.

In her own words:

“The core idea here is simply to allow all U.S. citizens and lawful residents, local governments, non-banking firms and non-business entities to open transactional accounts directly with the Federal Reserve, thus bypassing private depository institutions,” she wrote. “In this sense, it is a variation on the familiar FedAccounts — or FedCoin, ‘digital dollar wallets,’ etc. — theme. In principle, FedAccounts can be made available as an alternative to bank deposit accounts, upon a person’s request.”

Gosh, why haven’t we tried this before? What could possibly go wrong with digitizing your wealth and handing it over to a centralized, government controlled agency?

Nominating Omarova to serve as Comptroller of the Currency, as Biden has done, is worse than putting the inmates in charge of the asylum. It’s more like putting a convicted arsonist in charge of the Forest Service.

Here’s the takeaway from this: we have enemies of freedom in the White House, in Congress and in the judiciary. I’m not talking about some fringe wackos who are tolerated with good humor by American society. I’m talking about dyed-in-the-wool pinko commies who, at best dislike, and at worst hate the American social contract of freedom and personal initiative that was founded by white European males, creating the most free and powerful country the world has ever known.

We need more men who are willing to say what Joe Rogan says in a recent video — and then fight to preserve our nation (language warning).

“Up until 1776, every f***ing country that has ever existed was run by dictators. All of them. This is the first experiment in self-government that actually worked, and it created the greatest superpower the world has ever known.”

We are literally at the mercy of a bunch of full-on dictator wannabes. Now that they’ve had a taste of the power that comes with the authority and tools of government and business, they won’t give it up, just like Rogan says. Do I need to remind you of the lawlessness that we’ve witnessed over the last five years, much less over the last 18 months?

It’s hard to realize, but we are in an existential fight for the survival of America as we’ve known it. I honestly don’t know if we can last until 2024. The midterms in 2022 might give us a reprieve, but we really can’t count on anything right now.

I commiserated with a friend the other day that our kids will never know the America he and I grew up in. Yes, times change, but this is a radical and forced departure from what American society was. And it was destroyed by the Democrats, with the willing support of progressives and the media — and spineless Republicans who aren’t really conservatives.

The only thing that keeps me going is my hope in Jesus Christ.

Have a good weekend.

Daily Broadside | A Counter-Resistance Must Come to the Masses

Daily Verse | Obadiah 15
“The day of the Lord is near
    for all nations.
As you have done, it will be done to you;
your deeds will return upon your own head.”

Welcome to Wednesday, friends. Now that striped pants are back in fashion, I’ll have to fight my dog to get mine back.

I hadn’t read much of Angelo Codevilla’s work, but did recognize his name when it was announced that he’d died at age 78 after being hit by a car a couple of days ago. Several opinion writers and bloggers shared their sadness over his death and their estimate of him as a ‘great and good’ man. Many of them also linked to influential articles that he’d written, proclaiming that,

It is hard to overstate the importance and brilliance of Angelo. If you only knew him by his many books and columns (including this 2015 piece he wrote for Power Line on Trump’s significance and prospects), it would be sufficient to establish his greatness. But he was also at the storm center of key aspects of American intelligence and foreign policy going back more than 40 years.

The sense of significant loss piqued my curiosity, and I clicked through several of his articles. One of them, “Clarity in Trump’s Wake” struck such a chord with me, that I want to encourage you to read the entire thing. It’s a long treatise on what he says is now “a classic oligarchy” that rules America and how that oligarchy came to be.

The reason the article resonates with me so powerfully is that he shades with clarity the contours of our current predicament that we all know is there, but can’t precisely put our fingers on. Here is how he starts:

Texas v. Pennsylvania et al. did not deny setting rules for the 2020 election contrary to the Constitution. On December 10, 2020, the Supreme Court discounted that. By refusing to interfere as America’s ruling oligarchy serves itself, the court archived what remained of the American republic’s system of equal justice. That much is clear.

In 2021, the laws, customs, and habits of the heart that had defined the American republic since the 18th century are things of the past. Americans’ movements and interactions are under strictures for which no one ever voted. Government disarticulated society by penalizing ordinary social intercourse and precluding the rise of spontaneous opinion therefrom. Together with corporate America, it smothers minds through the mass and social media with relentless, pervasive, identical, and ever-evolving directives. In that way, these oligarchs have proclaimed themselves the arbiters of truth, entitled and obliged to censor whoever disagrees with them as systemically racist, adepts of conspiracy theories.

Corporations, and the government itself, require employees to attend meetings personally to acknowledge their guilt. They solicit mutual accusations. While violent felons are released from prison, anyone may be fired or otherwise have his life wrecked for questioning government/corporate sentiment. Today’s rulers don’t try to convince. They demand obedience, and they punish.

Russians and East Germans under Communists Leonid Brezhnev and Erich Honecker in the 1970s lived under less ruling class pressure than do today’s Americans. And their rulers were smart enough not to insult them, their country, or their race.

In 2015, Americans could still believe they lived in a republic, in which life’s rules flow from the people through their representatives. In 2021, a class of rulers draws their right to rule from self-declared experts’ claims of infallibility that dwarf baroque kings’ pretensions.

In that self-referential sense, the United States of America is now a classic oligarchy.

The following explains how this change happened. The clarity that it has brought to our predicament is its only virtue.

Oligarchy had long been growing within America’s republican forms. The 2016 election posed the choice of whether its rise should consolidate, or not. Consolidation was very much “in the cards.” But how that election and its aftermath led to the fast, thorough, revolution of American life depended on how Donald Trump acted as the catalyst who clarified, energized, and empowered our burgeoning oligarchy’s peculiarities.

After explaining how the amalgamation of politics and corporations had slowly built the oligarchy, Codevilla explains the significance of Donald J. Trump.

By 2015, the right side of America’s challenge to the budding oligarchy was inevitable. Trump was not inevitable. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) had begun posing a thorough challenge to the “stakeholders” most Americans disrespected. Candidate Trump was the more gripping showman. His popularity came from his willingness to disrespect them, loudly. Because the other 16 Republican candidates ran on different bases, none ever had a chance. Inevitably, victory in a field so crowded depended on when which minor candidate did or did not withdraw. There never was a head-to-head choice between Trump and Cruz.

Trump’s candidacy drew the ferocious opposition it did primarily because the entire ruling class recognized that, unlike McCain in 2008 and Romney in 2012, he really was mobilizing millions of Americans against the arrangements by which the ruling class live, move, and have their being. Since Cruz’s candidacy represented the same threat, it almost certainly would have drawn no less intense self-righteous anger. Nasty narratives could have been made up about him out of whole cloth as easily as about Trump.

But Trump’s actual peculiarities made it possible for the oligarchy to give the impression that its campaign was about his person, his public flouting of conventional norms, rather than about the preservation of their own power and wealth. The principal consequence of the ruling class’ opposition to candidate Trump was to convince itself, and then its followers, that defeating him was so important that it legitimized, indeed dictated, setting aside all laws, and truth itself.

He then goes on to explain how the Peking Lung Pox gave the oligarchy the vehicle they needed to increase their power over the average citizen and eventually leveraged it into gaming the 2020 presidential election.

Only in a few one-party Democratic states was universal vote-by-mail established by law. Elsewhere, especially in the states sure to be battlegrounds in the presidential election, mail-in voting was introduced by various kinds of executive or judicial actions. Questions of right and wrong aside, the Constitution’s Article II section 1’s words—“Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct”—makes such actions unconstitutional on their face. Moreover, in these states—Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin—the counting of votes in the most populous counties is firmly in the hands of Democratic Party bosses with a well-documented history of fraud.

To no one’s surprise, the 2020 presidential election was decided by super-majorities for the Democratic candidate precisely from these counties in these states. Yes, Trump’s percentage of the vote fell in certain suburbs. But Trump received some 11 million more votes in 2020 than four years earlier, and nearly doubled the share of votes he received from blacks. The Democrats’ gain of some 15 million votes came exclusively from mail-in ballots, and their victory in the Electoral College came exclusively from the supermajorities piled up in these corrupt counties—the only places where Trump’s share of the black vote was cut by three-quarters. Did people there really think so differently?

And then this:

The Democratic Party had promised a return to some kind of “normalcy.” Instead, its victory enabled the oligarchy’s several parts to redefine the people who do not show them due deference as “white supremacists,” “insurrectionists,” and Nazis—in short, as some kind of criminals—to exclude them from common platforms of communication, from the banking system, and perhaps even from air travel; and to set law enforcement to surveil them in order to find bases for prosecuting them. Neither Congress nor any state’s legislature legislated any of this. Rather, the several parts of America’s economic, cultural, and political establishment are waging this war, uncoordinated but well-nigh unanimously.

Perhaps most important, they do so without thought of how a war against at least some 74 million fellow citizens might end. The people in the oligarchy’s corporate components seem to want only to adorn unchallenged power with a reputation for “wokeness.” For them, causing pain to their opponents is a pleasure incidental to enjoying power’s perquisites. The Biden family’s self-enrichment by renting access to influence is this oligarchy’s standard.

As I said, it’s a long but powerful article. I’ve given you a taste of small portions of it to whet your appetite for the whole thing. It confirms your worst fears about what has happened in America — we are no longer a constitutional republic but in name only. We are being ruled by a cabal of elites in business, science, the courts, social media, entertainment and, of course, politics.

According to Codevilla, the central hope of overthrowing the ruling elite is this:

Increasingly, conservative Americans live as if under occupation by a hostile power. Whoever would lead them should emulate Charles de Gaulle’s 1941 basic rule for la résistance: refrain from individual or spontaneous acts or expressions that produce only martyrs. But join with thousands in what amount to battles to defeat the enemy’s initiatives, weaken his grip on power, and prepare his defeat. Thus, an aspirant to the presidency in 2024, in the course of debunking the narrative by which the oligarchy seized so much power over America, might lead millions to violate restrictions placed on those who refuse to wear masks. Or, as he pursues legislative and judicial measures to abolish the compulsory racial and gender sensitivity training sessions to which public and private employees are subjected, he might organize employees in a given sector unanimously to stay away from them in protest. They can’t all be fired or held back.

My thought: we must try.

Daily Broadside | Culture Shock is Being Imposed on Us

Daily Verse | Amos 8:11
“The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign Lord,
“when I will send a famine through the land —
not a famine of food or a thirst for water,
but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord.

Happy Tuesday, my Broadside friends. After inventorying my life, I’ve found that I’m low on Flintstones Chewable multivitamins.

Although the Resident and his junior commies in the White House have tried to sandbag reporters’ efforts to report on the southern border, it’s no secret that THERE IS NO SOUTHERN BORDER. You have been paying attention, haven’t you?

The shocking news out of Del Rio, Texas, is that there are now 15,000 foreigners — mostly Haitians — now illegally camped on our soil, with thousands more arriving every day, camped in a shantytown under a bridge.

Some reports say that up to 85 percent of them are Haitian. We don’t share a border with Haiti. Nor does Mexico. So where are these people coming from? How are they getting here?

The Center for Immigration Studies sent a reporter to ask the people themselves where they came from and how they got here, and the answer is shocking for what it reveals about our clueless, incompetent, irresponsible and malicious ruling class.

The surprising answer, which the migrants provided independently in different places and at different times, was universal: on Sunday, September 12, the Mexican government effectively sent a mass of migrants it had bottled up for months in its southern states up to the American border. This move, which appears to have been done under the cover of Mexico’s independence week of celebration known as El Grito, essentially foisted a humanitarian problem onto the Americans in a single week.

Even more disturbing is that once on American soil, many of these illegals will be freed to move around the U.S. unencumbered (my emphasis).

Many are now boarding yet more buses inside the camp, these ones provided by DHS to take them to Border Patrol processing stations. Some may be deported. But most likely will spend a day or two until they get temporary resident permits and a date to appear at an American immigration office in the city of their choice. Then under current Biden policies for families and unaccompanied minors, a great many will be released to travel anywhere in America, boarding yet more buses to those cities and towns.

But here’s the real kicker: most of the Haitians aren’t coming directly from Haiti. They’re coming from countries where they had already relocated and settled (my emphasis).

Based on a report from the New York Times a day or so ago, most are not actually from Haiti anymore, they are resettled refugees from countries such as Brazil, who cannot claim refugee status since being settled. They are economic migrants who are now country-shopping for better benefits packages and prospects. That’s not the same as refugees in flight, much as Julian Castro would have us think.

What are we, on the market? Did someone hang a sign on America announcing, “Vacancy”? Of course they did.

While Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas says our border is closed, here’s the terrifying truth: “The surge to the Del Rio sector follows roughly 200,000 Border Patrol contacts in August. According to projections, the southern border will see as many as two million illegal crossings in 2021.”

What this amounts to is a full-scale invasion of our country. We’re not carefully and thoughtfully controlling who and how many people we allow to immigrate here. We’re not trying to preserve our unique American culture and balance our compassion for the tired, poor and huddled masses with a sense of self-preservation. Of course, such thinking is shamed as racist and xenophobic, not intelligent and consistent with a people of consequence.

I’ve said before that the Democrats support population displacement, and this is another example of it. Another example are the 95,000 unvetted Afghans that Biden administration is resettling in the U.S. over the next year — and 10 Republican governors support his plan!

Hey, with “conservatives” like these, who needs liberals?

These people are irreversibly and insanely demolishing the unique American culture we once shared as a nation by replacing born and bred American citizens with masses of third world dependents who think, probably correctly, that the U.S. government will take care of them. Not to mention the incredible financial impact and burden millions of immigrants place on our hospitals, schools and other infrastructure.

In her book, “¡Adios America!” Ann Coulter writes,

“If U.S. schools still taught U.S. history, this would not come as an exciting surprise, but America is not a nation of immigrants. it’s a nation of British and Dutch settlers. We all have a stake in preserving what they created—”we” meaning all of us, except the very rich and the Democratic Party. If America disappears—the America liberals hate and Wall Street is indifferent to—everyone will suffer” and, few paragraphs later, “Once America is gone, there won’t be anyplace left to go.”

The Democrats and quisling Republicans who collaborate with them are intentionally destroying our nation. It doesn’t matter whether you think taking in millions of poor, uneducated and unassimilated people who are ignorant of American concepts like freedom and self-reliance is noble or stupid — you can’t deny that it is transforming the character of our country and what will be lost will never be regained.

Daily Broadside | Democrats are Communists Wrapped in the American Name

Daily Verse | Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a man’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

Friday and another week behind us on the road to either serfdom or civil war, as I see it. I wrote yesterday that patriotic, “Normal” Americans are being forced into a defensive position by the cultural Marxists, who have advanced through our civic institutions and now control nearly all the levers of power. I honestly don’t know how much longer we can claim to be a “free” people.

If you want absolute proof that the current administration, fronted by a moron who has failed upward for more than 50 years, are dyed-in-the-wool socialists communists, you have to look no further than their response to the uprising in the island-nation of Cuba, just 90 miles off the coast of Florida.

For 60 years the Cuban people have suffered poverty and oppression under a Communist regime. They’ve finally had enough and are rising up en masse to challenge the rule of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel. They face a military that, so far, is loyal to the president, who declared that combat orders have been given.

Nonetheless, Cubans have been demonstrating, shouting slogans like “Freedom!” and “Down with communism!” and “Freedom for the people of Cuba!” Protesters chanted “Freedom,” “Enough” and “Unite.” News outlets report that more than 100 activists are missing or held by the Cuban government. Others report that police have fired on and beaten demonstrators. Many waved American flags.

The response of our feckless “leaders” has been restrained. The New York Times labeled Cubans’ calls for freedom an “anti-government slogan.” It took Resident Biden 24-hours (with pressure from Republican lawmakers like Senators Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis) to finally issue a statement.

We stand with the Cuban people and their clarion call for freedom and relief from the tragic grip of the pandemic and from the decades of repression and economic suffering to which they have been subjected by Cuba’s authoritarian regime. The Cuban people are bravely asserting fundamental and universal rights. Those rights, including the right of peaceful protest and the right to freely determine their own future, must be respected. The United States calls on the Cuban regime to hear their people and serve their needs at this vital moment rather than enriching themselves.

We’ve heard nothing from AOC or Bernie Sanders because — what can they say? They want to the same system here that the Cuban people are rejecting there. Cuba is a real-time example of what happens when you go full commie. You should never go full commie.

Worst of all was US Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas who said, ““The time is never right to attempt migration by sea. To those who risk their lives doing so, this risk is not worth taking. Allow me to be clear. If you take to the sea, you will not come to the United States.”

Then he said, “If you want to come in, sail to Mexico and travel up through our southern border, because we aren’t really watching it that closely.”

Nah. He didn’t say that. He knows Cubans vote for Republicans, and Florida is turning red, and politicians need Florida to win elections and we can’t have that! Better to have illegals come from South America and not even try to stop them.

And, to top it all off, US Press Secretary Jen Psaki refuses to call communism “communism” and instead blames “mismanagement.”

Here’s what Barbara Arthur, who fled Cuba for the U.S. with her father back in 1969, has to say about the Cuban unrest (my emphasis):

After sixty years of oppression, the Cuban people are rallying for freedom. Thousands have taken to the streets in protest of lack of food, medicine, and blackouts. The people are starving; their children are starving. While many United States athletes dishonor our flag, Cuban protestors wave Old Glory in the face of tyranny. While our mainstream news media seeks to silence us with intimidation, the Cuban people cry out, “We are not afraid.” Truly, “give me liberty or give me death” in full display. Think about it: During the protests, the Cuban government has cut its people off from the internet and social media. Sound familiar? It should. Big Tech has done the same to many conservative Americans who do not align with their political views.

As a Cuban-American, our freedom is especially important to me. My family was ravaged by Castro’s communist regime. He took power as a socialist but within no time he exposed his totalitarian claws. Communism is not at our door, it’s in the house—the White House. If we allow our country to go the way of Cuba or Venezuela, where would we flee to? If there is no free America, there is no American Dream. Wake up, America, socialism is just a nice word for communism.

How ironic that while Leftists here in the U.S. demonize our country and burn our flag, people the world over — Hong Kong comes to mind — wave our flag in their countries as a symbol of freedom. Here in the US, however, we’re facing an increasingly hostile ruling class that has branded 75 million of us Americans as the greatest threat “we” face — the threat of white supremacy.

The truth is that the Democrats are now the party of communism — which means I’d rather be an American than a Democrat.

Have a good weekend.
