The Broadside | Nobody Trusted “My Word as a Biden” Except the Left. And Now He’s Burned Them

The main topic of conversation since Sunday is Joe Biden’s blanket pardon of his son, Hunter, after telling us all several times over the last year that he wouldn’t. It’s a fitting end to his entire mendacious career of deceit and grift, pardoning himself and his family for the criminal enterprise they’ve run for his 50-plus years in office.

The Right never believed Biden’s claim while the Left swallowed it hook, line and sinker in order to seize the moral high ground. “See, this is what a law-and-order president is like.”

“It’s all about the contrast.” Sure.

Now the MSDNCNNBCBS mouthpieces are clutching their pearls in horror and have no good answers.

You can bet that there are a lot more pardons to come. The Left is already calling for him to issue pre-emptive pardons, in the spirit of what he did for Huntie, to men like Merrick Garland and Alejandro Mayorkas and Anthony Fauci. For what, we can only imagine.

“Persecute.” The irony. Why do they all need pardons, Keith?

The bigger question I have is, how can a president “pardon” a conviction that hasn’t yet been made? If such a “pardon” is legal, can Biden issue a blanket “pardon” for all 40 million illegals in the country going back to 1980 and forward to January 19, 2025?

This site explains the power of pardons.

Article II, Section 2, Clause 1:

The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

The Constitution establishes the President’s authority to grant clemency, encompassing not only pardons of individuals but several other forms of relief from criminal punishment as well. The power, which has historical roots in early English law, has been recognized by the Supreme Court as quite broad. In the 1886 case Ex parte Garland, the Court referred to the President’s authority to pardon as unlimited except in cases of impeachment, extending to every offence known to the law and able to be exercised either before legal proceedings are taken, or during their pendency, or after conviction and judgment. Much later, the Court wrote that the broad power conferred in the Constitution gives the President plenary authority to ‘forgive’ [a] convicted person in part or entirely, to reduce a penalty in terms of a specified number of years, or to alter it with certain conditions.

So, a president is granted the power to pardon anyone, for anything, at any time, as long as it is a federal matter and is not a matter of impeachment.

Trump will most certainly pardon all J6 prisoners. But here’s the difference: Biden is pardoning Hunter for what are clear violations of established law, including gun charges, use of drugs, possible sexual offenses with underage girls, and acting as bagman for his influence-peddling father. Trump, on the other hand, will pardon J6ers for trumped-up charges and disproportional sentences that clearly abuse the legal code and their rights as American citizens.

I can’t wait until Brandon, the senile corrupt moron, is out of office.

The Broadside | When the Democrats Tell You What They Think of You, Believe Them

Remember when Barack Hussein Obama called citizens of middle America bitter clingers?

Remember when Hillary Clinton labeled half of Trump’s supporters as irredeemable “deplorables”?

That was a moment I remember well because I was a Trump supporter by that time and, even if I hadn’t been, I sure wasn’t supporting her. I had never heard a presidential candidate outright smear those they are asking to lead.

Joe Biden must’ve been taking notes, because he had his own “deplorable” moment yesterday.

“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” he says. When the Democrats tell you what they think of you, believe them.

That includes the hysterical claims from Harris and her flying monkeys in the media that Trump is Hitler and his followers are Nazis. I listened to her final speech last night for ten minutes before I couldn’t take it anymore.

She lied throughout her propagandizing from the ellipse in DC, where Trump held his rally on January 6, 2020. She’s in a razor-thin race and instead of going to a swing state she needs to win, she stays in DC and conjures up the specter of January 6.

Because that event hasn’t been litigated enough!

Not even five minutes into her speech she lied that Trump “sent an armed mob” into the capital. He didn’t order them to attack the capital, and no one was armed. The only people who died that day were two women who were killed by capital police.

Kamala lied throughout her propaganda. She claimed, against all evidence, that Trump would outlaw abortion nationwide (he’s promised to veto a federal abortion ban), that he would limit IVF (he’s actually pledged the opposite), and told us that Project 2025 is Trump’s. It isn’t and he’s disavowed all ties to it.

Trump spoke with Sean Hannity on Fox News yesterday to talk about his policy positions. (For the record, I am not a fan of Hannity’s. I can’t listen to his self-aggrandizing monologues—even during guest interviews—and I don’t think he’s all that rigorous an interviewer.)

Did we learn anything new from this latest set of comments?

Maybe a couple of things. First, I thought Trump would’ve see the economy as the number one concern, but he told Hannity that immigration is the biggest issue. He then said that Kamala let “21 million people” into the country. That’s a bigger number than is usually bandied about, which is about 10 million. I actually think that the 21 million is a more accurate number. Frankly, I’ll bet that it’s even bigger than that.

He also said that more than 300 former generals, admirals and former cabinet members have signed an endorsement of him. Surprisingly, I hadn’t heard that yet.

The group, organized by former Trump national security adviser Robert O’Brien and former National Security Council chief of staff Alex Gray, wrote in a letter that “securing peace” is “the legacy of Trump.”

The signers, numbering more than 300, include former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who ran against Trump in this year’s Republican primaries, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and former National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe.

Trump also said something interesting that I hadn’t heard from him before. He was talking about this administration’s weaponization of the DOJ against conservatives and he said, “They go after Catholics; evangelicals will be next.”

That’s a little foreboding. I think we’re already in their sights, but does he know something we don’t?

He spent time listing his achievements, like building 500 miles of border wall; delivering the “largest tax cuts in the history of our country”; and declaring that China and everybody else respected us when he was president.

He also said that Elon Musk would “tackle waste, fraud and abuse in our budgets,” cutting costs and saving us 2 trillion dollars. Now that’s something I’d like to see!

It reminds me that I’m not just voting for Trump; I’m voting for Elon Musk, Tulsi Gabbard, Vivek Ramaswamy, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and the other cast of characters that he’s pulled together. It’s quite a politically diverse set of smart people. The Democrats have nothing like it even though they’re the ones screaming about diversity all the time.

Hannity brought it around to how I started this post: everyone is calling Trump a Nazi and a fascist and Mussolini and Stalin; he’s survived two assassination attempts; Iran has hit squads in the U.S. who want to take him out. “This is the environment we’re in” Hannity says.

Trump, never one to miss an opportunity to boast, says, “they only go after consequential presidents. I’m very consequential.” LOL.

Frankly, I think he’s right. And the Leftist anti-Americans have no answer for him other than to rachet up the evil rhetoric to whip their minions into a frothy frenzy that they can use to burn the country down should Trump win. Just watch what MSNBC did during his Madison Square Garden rally:

Shameful. You really don’t hate the mainstream media enough.

The Broadside | Mushhead Wants to Control the Supreme Court in Order to Save Democracy

Keeping it short this morning.

Failed career politician Joseph Robinette Biden, the first sitting president seeking re-election to withdraw from a presidential election, has decided that even though he’s incompetent to serve another term, he’s competent enough to demand changes to the Supreme Court, including term limits.

President Biden on Monday came to the LBJ Presidential Library to deliver a sweeping indictment of the U.S. Supreme Court, calling its rulings “dangerous,” its ethics code “weak” and its practices in desperate need of reform.

Biden, a former chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee who oversaw numerous confirmation battles, said the court has become unmoored from its traditional role. “We live in a different era,” he said during a 25-minute address in an auditorium filled with hundreds of people. “In recent years, extreme opinions the Supreme Court has handed down have undermined long-established civil rights principles and protections.”

What he says “extreme opinions” he means decisions that go against the commie Democrats’ evil inclinations to tear down Western civilization and finish fundamentally transforming the United States of America.

Biden had long resisted calls to reform the Supreme Court, and the announcement Monday marked a major shift in his posture. After the addition of three justices nominated by Trump, the court has veered sharply to the right — overturning Roe v. Wade, ending affirmative action in college admissions and weakening federal agencies’ power by overturning a 40-year decision. The conservative majority also invalidated Biden’s student-loan forgiveness program.

Roe v. Wade was written as law, not as a judicial opinion. Most legal experts agreed that it was a terrible decision. Affirmative action gave preference to minorities in a policy that was essentially reverse discrimination. Federal agencies were never meant to have the power they have, making rules that have the effect of federal law, a power reserved to Congress alone. And Biden doesn’t have the authority to forgive student loan debt.

So, yeah, Democrats are ticked because their extra-constitutional lawmaking is being rebuked.

Only one line in the WaPo article rang true: “Conservatives argue that proposals like Biden’s stem from a dislike of the court’s recent rulings, not a genuine desire for reform.”

Bingo.

If Resident Brandon wants to accomplish his attempts to interfere with the Supreme Court, he’ll have to do it with a constitutional amendment. As Ace says, SCOTUS is “an independent branch of government which is co-equal to both the Congress and the executive and therefore answers to neither.”

In my view, this is the first step in a psyop, plowing the ground among the radical progressives to get the seeds planted. What Brandon wants won’t happen, not now, but that won’t stop the anti-American Left from agitating for it.

The Broadside | Harris Gets a Bump in the Polls, But Will It Last?

I took a break from posting last week to concentrate on two major projects that were coming due by this weekend. I’m happy to report that I got them both done and they were well received.

So, anything happen while I was away?

The presidential race just got very interesting and is full of intrigue. When Joe Biden ceased to be useful, they turned on him, just like a Marxist would. The Democrats, true to form, forced out the candidate chosen by the people and installed a do-nothing diversity hire to be their flag bearer.

While that’s “exciting” and pumps some new life into the race, I expect that the bump she’s experienced in the polls will be short lived as people begin to discover how extreme her positions are and that she’s a vapid pol trading on nothing more than the color of her skin and her double-X chromosomes.

And don’t @ me about that, because the Left shoves that superficial nonsense down our throats and then calls us ‘racist’ when we point it out. Make up your mind, progressives—is skin color and XX virtuous or not?

Never mind. You can’t even tell us what a woman is, so don’t bother.

The likely 2024 presidential election campaign between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump begins with no clear leader, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS after President Joe Biden ended his bid for reelection.

Trump holds 49% support among registered voters nationwide to Harris’ 46%, a finding within the poll’s margin of sampling error. That’s a closer contest than earlier CNN polling this year had found on the matchup between Biden and Trump.

Trump earlier led Biden in the same poll by 6 points. So Harris has improved the Democrat position by 1 point. Big deal.

The survey finds voters widely supportive of both Biden’s decision to step aside and his choice to remain in office through the end of his term. Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters are broadly enthusiastic about Harris and willing to coalesce around her as the new presumptive nominee, even as they remain deeply divided on whether Biden’s Democratic successor should seek to continue his policies or chart a new course.

[…]

But Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters are closely split over whether the next nominee should continue Biden’s policies (53%) or take the country in a new direction (47%). Desire for a new direction is largely concentrated among younger voters and voters of color.

This ought to be interesting. Continue with the extremist policies on energy, immigration and the economy? Or take it in a new direction toward … what? Even more extreme policies? The woman can’t even be bothered to meet with the president of Israel for fear of alienating the Islamists in Dearborn and Minneapolis.

The Democrats aren’t going to moderate anything.

But if we’re lucky, we’ll see Harris’s weaknesses start tripping her up, especially when (and if) she debates Trump. I expect that the polls will show her support dropping over the next few weeks.

The unspoken wild card remains the cheat. Democrats loathe being out of power and they will do anything they can to keep it. Just look at what they did to their own democratically-elected candidate.

The Broadside | Yawn! Brandon Works 10-4 and Then Goes to Bed by 8:00. So Vigorous and Sharp!

I hope you had a great July 4th holiday! While we’re in dire straits as a nation, there are still millions of us who love the Red, White and Blue and are willing to tell the commies who have infected our national institutions to get bent.

Love this!

The major issue that has our attention these days is what the Democrats are going to do with the poser in the White House. After his poor showing during the first (and probably only) presidential debate on CNN, the Democrats are in full-fledged panic mode. Many have begun demanding that he drop out of the race so that he can be replaced with a candidate who is more viable.

But the dilemma for them is that the person next in line is Kamala Harris, who by rights as the Value Pick should be the unquestioned nominee should Biden bow out. Indeed, the Washington Post already has an article suggesting that they’re already considering her at the top of the ticket.

On a call Wednesday night with House Democratic leadership led by Jeffries, there was a lot of talk about if not Biden, then who. Many names were discussed but there was no real consensus.

“But there was general awareness that it would be difficult for it to be anyone but Harris,” according to a member who participated in the virtual meeting.

Tim Ryan, a former Ohio congressman and presidential candidate, said in an op-ed that while he loves Biden, Harris should be the Democratic nominee for president after Biden stumbled in a high-profile debate performance last week. Some other possible contenders — including Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and California Gov. Gavin Newsom — probably wouldn’t jump in the race this year and would support Harris if Biden were to remove himself from the ticket, according to people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations.

Democrats’ growing move to rally around Harris as a potential nominee — almost always with the caveat that Biden remains the choice for now — is a sign that they are gaming out a world without Biden as the party’s standard-bearer, even as they try to blunt years of hand-wringing about Harris’s ability to win the White House on her own.

If you support Trump (as I do) then this scenario is only a little less appealing than if Biden stays in the race. Biden is now a (fatally?) weakened incumbant—his poor recall and inability to articulate a full sentence without slurring or mumbling or losing his train of thought is out there for all to see now.

No thanks to the press.

That bodes well for Trump, who looks absolutely vigorous and sharp—you know, those characteristics we were assured that Joey Sponge Brain demonstrated behind the scenes.

Other reports tell us that Brandon only works from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. And that he needs a nap. And now that he will stop scheduling events for after 8:00 pm.

President Joe Biden told Democratic governors during a meeting at the White House on Wednesday that part of his plan going forward is to stop scheduling events after 8 p.m. so that he can get more sleep, according to three sources briefed on his comments.

The remarks, first reported by The New York Times, came as the 81-year-old Biden sought to reassure a group of more than 20 state leaders about his ability to defeat former President Donald Trump in November and govern effectively for another four years.

Totally vigorous and up to the challenge! Let’s hope nothing happens before 10:00 AM or after 8:00 PM that he needs to be available for.

The press is doing what they can to help Joey Snow Cone make a decision. The New York Times published a report that quoted an anonymous “ally.”

President Biden has told a key ally that he knows he may not be able to salvage his candidacy if he cannot convince the public in the coming days that he is up for the job after a disastrous debate performance last week.

via PowerLine

The White House denies the report, but other journalists have confirmed it. Who knows? It’s part of the battle of leaks and lies as the Dems try to figure out what to do.

It’s their own fault. The 2020 race was rigged and full of fraud. Serves them right to face a trainwreck of their own making.

Have a great weekend.

Daily Broadside | Robert DeNiro Barely More Cogent Than Biden During NYC Rant

For most of my life I never paid much attention to actor Robert De Niro. As an actor, he belongs in the ranks of top-tier performers like Al Paccino, Jack Nicholson, Denzel Washington, Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Oldman.

But Robert De Niro lost his mind when Trump was elected and still hasn’t recovered. It’s always puzzled me. If one wanted a case study of TDS, rage junkie De Niro is it.

Following Biden’s embrace of one-hit wonder Mark Hamill four weeks ago, his campaign arranges a “press conference” featuring De Niro outside the court where Trump’s trial is taking place.

And he shows up with a mask. A mask!

That’s so 2020.

So what drives De Niro’s contempt for Trump? He’s short on specifics but long on speculation.

De Niro, 80, has already narrated ads for the Biden campaign, and told reporters Tuesday that Trump “wants to sow total chaos” and “destroy not only the city” before expanding his argument to say “eventually he could destroy the whole world.”

“I don’t mean to scare you. No, wait, maybe I do mean to scare you,” he said at one point. “If Trump returns to the White House, you can kiss these freedoms goodbye that we all take for granted.

“And elections. Forget about it. That’s over. That’s done. If he gets in. I can tell you right now. He will never leave. He will never leave. You know that. He will never leave.”

Trump will sow total chaos, destroy the city, destroy the country, destroy the whole world, take away our freedoms, and will never leave.

Sowing total chaos? Like admitting tens of millions of foreigners into the country illegally? Like confusing children about their “gender”? Like letting thieves and homicidal maniacs back on the streets with no cash bail after they commit crime?

Destroy the city? Like Democrat governors did in New York, Los Angeles, Detroit and Chicago? Or like in East Palestine, Ohio, where a train derailment resulted in a toxic chemical spill that Biden could care less about?

Destroy the country? Like destroying businesses during Covid? Like shutting down coal? Shutting down the Keystone pipeline?

Destroy the world? Like in Ukraine, Afghanistan and Israel?

Take away our freedoms? Like censoring topics on Twitter/X? Like putting hundreds of patriots in jail indefinitely without due process over nothing more than walking through the Capitol when invited in by the Capitol police? Like mandating masks and like Biden telling us he’s losing patience with those of us who refused the “vaccines”?

Never leave? Like when Biden and his gang steal the election later this year?

There’s only two options here: he either believes his hype or he doesn’t, and I’m inclined to think he believes it.

It’s fascinating and infuriating, but not impossible to believe that he’s serious.

It’s delusional. It’s exactly the kind of things that conservatives would say about Biden, but we’ve got evidence to back up our assertions that De Niro and his constituency have to ignore.

When Trump goes after the Deep State and the grifting rulers, that’s “sowing total chaos.” That’s upsetting the elites like De Niro, who like their place above the “clowns” that he makes room for. Yes, he actually said that.

It’s so weird.

If you have the stomach for it, you can watch the whole thing here:

De Niro’s fragile ego takes a hit when counter-protestors call him “washed up” and a “mook.” I had to look up what a mook was: a foolish, insignificant, or contemptible person. You know, the very thing that De Niro accuses Trump of being.

But he couldn’t take it when it was dished out.

Reality bites when you’re not acting.

Daily Broadside | Biden is Everything We Knew He Was And Even the Left Can’t Deny It

One of my favorite political commentators is Victor Davis Hanson (VDH), who writes thoughtful essays underscoring the absurdities and contradictions of the Demojihadis. His latest on X is no exception, where he expertly dissects the miserable fool currently posing as “president.”

Joe Biden’s personal approval rating is at historic lows; almost all his policies do not poll fifty percent. He is behind Trump in almost all the swing states. And now he lies serially even to sympathetic interviewers. In short, finally Biden has been exposed for what he always was and represented.

Senator and Vice President Joe Biden was always sort of a buffoon. He is by nature a grandstander who handsomely profited from his office while posing as good ole Joe from Scranton.

He is a blowhard meddler, one who proverbially has been “wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades (Robert Gates),” from dissenting on the Bin Laden raid to his trisection of Iraq scheme.

He is a fabulist who believes that the more animated he misleads and slurs (“semi-fascists” “fat”, “lying dog-faced pony soldier”, “chumps”, “dregs of society”, etc), the more likely he is to get away with it. He is a confessed plagiarist. And he has also invented much of his biography, from would be star, college-scholarship athlete and brilliant law student to semi-truck driver and jailed civil rights activist. His uncle, we are instructed, was eaten by cannibals. Joe assures us that he was the first in his family to go to college.

And he is a racist with a repertory of racial taunts and smears unrivaled among modern politicians (“junkie”, “boy”, “you ain’t black”, “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy”, “put y’all back in chains”, the Corn Pop and golden-leg hairs sagas, the “racial jungle” memes, the strange brag about Delaware as a “slave state” (e.g., “You don’t know my state. My state was a slave state. My state is a border state.”), and his encomia for the old Democratic racists of the Senate from former Klansman Robert Byrd (Biden’s self-described “mentor” and “guide”) to segregationist James Eastland (“never called me boy”).

Biden has always had a mean streak that explains why for years he lied about the tragic, fatal auto accident of his first wife and child, using it to libel the truck driver, who was neither drunk nor culpable but smeared publicly for years by Biden as intoxicated and guilty. For years he ignored the pleas of the trucker’s family to please stop libeling an innocent driver.

Got that? Joe Biden is a racist blowhard fabulist meddler and a mean grandstanding lying buffoon.

But we knew that. The Democrats knew that, too.

But that’s not all.

Biden has always put the agendas of his own and his family above the national interest. We witnessed that when he bragged that he fired the Ukrainian prosecutor looking into his son’s Burisma skullduggery. The Biden consortium is corrupt and was enriched with over $25 million through foreign interests’ assurance that Senator and Vice President Joe Biden would deliver on their quid pro quo investments in him.

Any other major politician who habitually invaded the private space of women and preteens to blow on their hair, gobble their necks, squeeze and hug far too long, and be accused of sexual assault would have long since been cancelled by the left.

Add the old disturbing narrative of a naked Vice President Joe Biden exiting his pool in front of female secret service agents, the showering with his pre-teen daughter, the Frank Biden and Hunter naked selfies, and there seems something eerie among the Biden family.

Eerie? How about “sick” or “perverted” or “morally degenerate”?

But we knew that. The Democrats knew that, too.

And now the whole world knows it.

Yet this child-sniffing, money-laundering, grandstanding criminal moron is the person the Democrats foisted on us and who they still insist is the best person to “lead” this nation, even though we know he does nothing but read what his braintrust puts on the teleprompter. Including the word, “pause.”

Biden is the camoflage on the tank, the sheepskin on the wolf, the leaves covering the bear trap.

All he is is a useful idiot.

I don’t trust either party right now, but I have no doubt whatsoever that the Democrats have become the “domestic” enemies that our founders warned us about.

I’ll say it again: the Democrat Party should be outlawed. It’s a mind hive of anti-American ideology and grift. We can’t easily kill the ideology, but we can abolish the political parasite that allows it to flourish.

Daily Broadside | Make Biden Play By The New Rules

I used to read National Review and Rich Lowry regularly, but they lost me after they published their “Against Trump” issue and started asking me to pay to read their stuff. Still, I’m on their mailing list and will occasionally click over. On Wednesday I found myself agreeing with Lowry’s editorial.

Special counsel Robert Hur found that there was enough evidence to charge Joe Biden with a crime, yet he didn’t.

As we know, Hur concluded that a jury would probably find that Biden didn’t have criminal intent, although he stipulated during his congressional hearing a couple of weeks ago that a reasonable juror might conclude that Biden was guilty.

If this wasn’t an outlandish decision on Hur’s part, neither was it inevitable. Clearly, the fact that recommending charges against Biden would have been a thermonuclear political event, potentially affecting the election outcome, helped stay Hur’s hand. He could have gone by the strict letter of the law but allowed prudential considerations — again, not unreasonably — to play a role.

The ongoing bout of civil cases and criminal indictments against Donald Trump and, soon enough, a criminal trial raise the question: Why, if Trump wins election, should his Justice Department accept Hur’s judgment? Why wouldn’t it simply take Hur’s report and fashion it into an indictment of former president Biden?

After all, if there’s anything we’ve learned recently, it’s that no one is above the law.

Since there are now new rules, why shouldn’t we play by them? Make the Democrats eat their words. They like to trot out “no one is above the law” when it concerns the opposition, but you know they’ll scream bloody murder when it’s applied to them.

See? No one is above the law. That statement, of course, is a truism. In the hands of Trump enemies, though, it becomes something more — a rationalization for hostile prosecutors subjecting a political opponent to whatever they can possibly get him on.

By this standard, what would stop prosecutors in a Trump administration from trying to nail Biden? All the evidence is right there in the 350-page Hur report.

To which I say, “go for it.” Joe Biden has no sympathy from me. If they could nail him on the charges detailed in Hur’s report and send him to prison for whatever is left of his time on earth, I’d be good with that.

Maybe a case against Biden wouldn’t succeed. But since when is that the standard? An indictment would harry and humiliate him, and drain him of resources. It would provide enjoyment to his political enemies. In short, it would do everything that’s been done to Trump, but with lower stakes — and no chance of interfering in an election — since Biden wouldn’t any longer be a candidate for office.

As Letitia James insists, “There simply cannot be different rules for different people.”

Exactly.

Daily Broadside | The Persecution of Donald J. Trump Hits a Speed Bump

The outrageous lawfare being waged on the former president took a hit this weekend when the New York Supreme Court ordered New York Attorney General Letitia James to remove a letter asking them to disregard Trump’s argument that posting the scandalous nearly half-a-billion dollar bond is a “practical impossibility.”

In the original letter, Ms. James had asked the court not to accept the testimonies of a Trump attorney and broker who detailed the efforts they’d gone through in trying to obtain a $464 million bond, claiming they were unreliable sources. The defense faulted the state for not providing any “reason to doubt any of their assertions,” however, and only making a blanket statement.

“While attempting to cynically and wrongfully tar the Defendants’ witnesses as ‘unreliable,’ the Attorney General does not actually dispute the truth of a single one of their specific claims,” the defense’s letter reads.

The sworn affidavits submitted revealed that the defense had sought out the large bond since before final judgment was entered—raising the fine from $250 million to more than $350 million during the last days of trial—and that negotiations by four brokers with 30-plus surety companies still resulted in no deal. One of the brokers provided additional context, saying a $100 million bond was considered large and a $464 million bond (which includes the ordered interest) is something few sureties have the ability to issue and would issue only for large publicly traded companies.

The attorney general had argued that these affidavits still didn’t provide enough information on why the defendants had been turned down, suggesting that Trump Organization assets aren’t as valuable as the defense claims.

Of course. Of course. There isn’t enough information in the world that would satisfy the legal assassin who boasted that if elected, she would aggressively investigate Trump’s businesses and finances. This is an all-out partisan witch hunt to pump up her ego by providing the Marxist Democrats an in-kind donation with her election interference.

The fact that the court ordered her to withdraw her letter, while not an epic decision, is still a win for Trump’s defense and perhaps indicates James’ overreach and political calculus. The only way to raise the money would be to liquidate his real estate holdings, something that the defense argued was excessive.

President Trump had posted on social media that to divest of his buildings in a “fire sale” would create irreparable damage—he would lose the buildings he was appealing to keep.

“Perhaps worst of all, the Attorney General argues that Defendants should be forced to dispose of iconic, multi-billion-dollar real-estate holdings in a ‘fire sale,’” the defense’s letter reads. They called it ”textbook irreparable injury” to require the defendants to appeal without penalty only after taking such losses.

“It would be completely illogical—and the definition of an unconstitutional Excessive Fine and a Taking—to require Defendants to sell properties at all, and especially in a ‘fire sale,’ in order to be able to appeal the lawless Supreme Court judgment, as that would cause harm that cannot be repaired once the Defendants do win, as is overwhelmingly likely, on appeal,” the defense argued.

In other good news for Trump, a recent Marquette University/CNBC poll shows that Trump has all but demolished Biden on who Americans trust to handle the border.

Look at that advantage that Donald Trump has on immigration and border security. It’s near 30 points. This is a tremendous change that’s going on and it’s no wonder that Donald Trump is running on immigration,” Enten observed, before adding, “Voters at this particular point are quite concerned about immigration, and they trust Donald Trump on this particular issue.”

Even among Hispanics.

“If you ask Hispanic voters, who do they trust more on border security and immigration? Overwhelmingly, they trust Donald Trump more, by a tremendous margin. Look at that: 49% to 24%. And that is in line with what we’re seeing in the polls in general among Hispanics, right?”

Meh. This is the same vibe I got in 2020. The country is fed up with the Marxist anti-Americans, but they hold all the power. I will be shocked if Trump wins come November.

Daily Broadside | Elderly Man With Poor Memory Crowned Democrat Nominee

The stair-tripping, mumble-slurring, stage-wandering, shambolic disgrace that is our so-called “president” has apparently been crowned—again—by the degenerates on the Left as their standard-bearer come November 2024.

[So-called] President Joe Biden on March 12 secured the Democratic nomination after an overwhelming win in swing-state Georgia, as his rival former President Donald Trump appears likely to clinch the Republican nomination when several primaries are called later this evening.

President Trump also easily won the Georgia Republican primary on Tuesday, according to a projection by the Associated Press. The Peach State allocates 59 Republican delegates.

“I am honored that the broad coalition of voters representing the rich diversity of the Democratic Party across the country have put their faith in me once again to lead our party—and our country—in a moment when the threat Trump poses is greater than ever,” President Biden said in a statement shared by the White House upon his becoming the presumptive Democratic Party’s nominee.

“Threat.” This from a pathetic dictator wannabe who fronts B. Hussein Obama’s third term and has made the US the laughing stock of the world.

If we lived in anything resembling a free constitutional republic, he’d be tossed to the curb by a landslide come November 5. But because we live in “muh democracy!” that resembles Alice’s upside down and backwards Wonderland, the only way to beat this imposter is to vote in such numbers that the margin of victory is too great for the anti-Americans to cheat like they did in 2020.

Good luck with that.

Trump has also been declared the presumptive nominee for the Republican ticket, setting up the most anticipated—and reviled—rematch of the new century.

Former President Trump is officially the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.

Trump clinched his party’s 2024 nomination Tuesday when Georgia, Mississippi and Washington state held primaries.

With no major challengers left, both Trump and [so-called “president”] Biden, who locked up his party’s nomination earlier in the evening, were on course to collect all or nearly all the delegates up for grabs in Tuesday’s contests, putting each of them over the top and making them the Democratic and Republican presumptive presidential nominees.

Patriots and conservatives, along with like-minded Republicans, face headwinds from half the country who hate them, along with groups like this one that plans to take out $50 million in ads opposing Trump (paywall).

A Republican group dedicated to opposing former President Donald J. Trump is planning to spend $50 million to stop him through a series of homemade testimonial videos of voters who backed him in past elections but say they can no longer support him in 2024.

The group, Republican Voters Against Trump, first emerged in the 2020 campaign and made a return appearance for the 2022 midterm elections. It is run by Sarah Longwell, a leading figure in Never-Trump politics whose focus groups and polling are a staple of center-right podcasts and have made her a go-to figure for political reporters aiming to decipher the motivations behind Trump supporters.

She’s not “center-right” but, hey, it’s a free country. You can support or oppose whoever you want. But don’t try to sell me on how principled you are compared to me. If you’re trying to damage Trump you are actively aiding and abetting the Democrats in their quest to destroy America, and that puts you squarely in the “anti-America” camp. And the big grifters camp. And the David French camp.

We have exactly one chance to get this right. As Benjamin Franklin (may have) said at the signing of the Declaration of Independence, “We must all hang together, or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.”

These clowns want us to all hang seperately.
