Daily Broadside | Biden is Everything We Knew He Was And Even the Left Can’t Deny It

One of my favorite political commentators is Victor Davis Hanson (VDH), who writes thoughtful essays underscoring the absurdities and contradictions of the Demojihadis. His latest on X is no exception, where he expertly dissects the miserable fool currently posing as “president.”

Joe Biden’s personal approval rating is at historic lows; almost all his policies do not poll fifty percent. He is behind Trump in almost all the swing states. And now he lies serially even to sympathetic interviewers. In short, finally Biden has been exposed for what he always was and represented.

Senator and Vice President Joe Biden was always sort of a buffoon. He is by nature a grandstander who handsomely profited from his office while posing as good ole Joe from Scranton.

He is a blowhard meddler, one who proverbially has been “wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades (Robert Gates),” from dissenting on the Bin Laden raid to his trisection of Iraq scheme.

He is a fabulist who believes that the more animated he misleads and slurs (“semi-fascists” “fat”, “lying dog-faced pony soldier”, “chumps”, “dregs of society”, etc), the more likely he is to get away with it. He is a confessed plagiarist. And he has also invented much of his biography, from would be star, college-scholarship athlete and brilliant law student to semi-truck driver and jailed civil rights activist. His uncle, we are instructed, was eaten by cannibals. Joe assures us that he was the first in his family to go to college.

And he is a racist with a repertory of racial taunts and smears unrivaled among modern politicians (“junkie”, “boy”, “you ain’t black”, “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy”, “put y’all back in chains”, the Corn Pop and golden-leg hairs sagas, the “racial jungle” memes, the strange brag about Delaware as a “slave state” (e.g., “You don’t know my state. My state was a slave state. My state is a border state.”), and his encomia for the old Democratic racists of the Senate from former Klansman Robert Byrd (Biden’s self-described “mentor” and “guide”) to segregationist James Eastland (“never called me boy”).

Biden has always had a mean streak that explains why for years he lied about the tragic, fatal auto accident of his first wife and child, using it to libel the truck driver, who was neither drunk nor culpable but smeared publicly for years by Biden as intoxicated and guilty. For years he ignored the pleas of the trucker’s family to please stop libeling an innocent driver.

Got that? Joe Biden is a racist blowhard fabulist meddler and a mean grandstanding lying buffoon.

But we knew that. The Democrats knew that, too.

But that’s not all.

Biden has always put the agendas of his own and his family above the national interest. We witnessed that when he bragged that he fired the Ukrainian prosecutor looking into his son’s Burisma skullduggery. The Biden consortium is corrupt and was enriched with over $25 million through foreign interests’ assurance that Senator and Vice President Joe Biden would deliver on their quid pro quo investments in him.

Any other major politician who habitually invaded the private space of women and preteens to blow on their hair, gobble their necks, squeeze and hug far too long, and be accused of sexual assault would have long since been cancelled by the left.

Add the old disturbing narrative of a naked Vice President Joe Biden exiting his pool in front of female secret service agents, the showering with his pre-teen daughter, the Frank Biden and Hunter naked selfies, and there seems something eerie among the Biden family.

Eerie? How about “sick” or “perverted” or “morally degenerate”?

But we knew that. The Democrats knew that, too.

And now the whole world knows it.

Yet this child-sniffing, money-laundering, grandstanding criminal moron is the person the Democrats foisted on us and who they still insist is the best person to “lead” this nation, even though we know he does nothing but read what his braintrust puts on the teleprompter. Including the word, “pause.”

Biden is the camoflage on the tank, the sheepskin on the wolf, the leaves covering the bear trap.

All he is is a useful idiot.

I don’t trust either party right now, but I have no doubt whatsoever that the Democrats have become the “domestic” enemies that our founders warned us about.

I’ll say it again: the Democrat Party should be outlawed. It’s a mind hive of anti-American ideology and grift. We can’t easily kill the ideology, but we can abolish the political parasite that allows it to flourish.

Daily Broadside | White House Delivers Marching Orders to Regime Media, Who Dutifully Report It

Freedom of the press is supposed to protect the press from government control. Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black wrote: “The press was to serve the governed, not the governors.” Like everything else the Democrats touch, the press is now a corrupted institution that protects the government from the governed.

The Biden White House sent a letter to its media allies Wednesday, directing them to intensify their “scrutiny” of House Republicans after Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced an impeachment inquiry into the Biden family’s influence-peddling operation.

It’s time for the media to ramp up its scrutiny of House Republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies. Impeachment is grave, rare, and historic. The Constitution requires ‘treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors,” Ian Sams, a spokesperson for the White House Counsel’s Office, wrote in the letter to top U.S. news executives, according to CNN. “After nearly 9 months of investigating, House Republicans haven’t been able to turn up any evidence of the President doing anything wrong,” Sams added inaccurately.

If we had a truly free press, they’d tell the White House to go pound sand. But the White House knows who their allies are and isn’t afraid to use them. The MSM is simply a mouthpiece for the regime. As Glenn Reynolds over at Instapundit often says, “Just think of the media as Democratic party operatives with bylines, and it all makes sense.”

CNN astonishingly not only reported on the directive from the administration, but then went on to actually do what the White House asked.

The White House sent a letter to top US news executives on Wednesday, urging them to intensify their scrutiny of House Republicans after Speaker Kevin McCarthy launched an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, despite having found no evidence of a crime.

“It’s time for the media to ramp up its scrutiny of House Republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies,” Ian Sams, a spokesperson for the White House Counsel’s Office, wrote in the letter, which was first obtained by CNN.

The letter, which said an impeachment inquiry with no supporting evidence should “set off alarm bells for news organizations,” was sent to executives helming the nation’s largest news organizations, including CNN, The New York Times, Fox News, the Associated Press, CBS News, and others, a White House official familiar with the matter said.

So far, so good. But then, in the very next paragraphs,

The correspondence comes one day after McCarthy announced that he had directed three House committees to begin an impeachment inquiry into Biden. House Republicans, most of whom have denied that disgraced former President Donald Trump committed any wrongdoing, have long sought to baselessly portray Biden as a corrupt, crime-ridden politician engaged in sinister activities.

While news organizations have published innumerable fact checks on the matter, they have also often failed to robustly call out the mis- and disinformation peddled by Republicans in their coverage, frustrating officials in the Biden White House who believe that the news media should be doing more to dispel lies that saturate the public discourse, CNN wrote without evidence.

Just kidding. I added that last part.

The report ends with this:

The Republican House-led investigations into Biden have yet to provide any direct evidence that the president financially benefited from Hunter Biden’s career overseas.

Just like the regime directed!

Yes, the White House is panicking, but they only have themselves to blame. As Victor Davis Hanson writes,

The Left is now suddenly voicing warnings that those who recently undermined the system could be targeted by their own legacies.

So, for example, now we read why impeachment is suddenly a dangerous gambit.

True, the Founders did not envision impeaching a first-term president the moment he lost his House majority. Nor did they imagine impeaching a president twice. And they certainly did not anticipate trying an ex-president in the Senate as a private citizen.

In modern times, the nation has not rushed to impeach a president without a special counsel investigation to determine whether the chief executive was guilty of “Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

But thanks to the Democrats, recent impeachments now have destroyed all those guardrails. After all, Trump was impeached the first time on the fumes of an exhaustive but fruitless 22-month, $40 million special counsel investigation—one designed to find him guilty of Russian “collusion” and thus to be removed from office but found no actionable offenses at all.

Instead, dejected Democrats moved immediately for a second try. In September 2019 a few weeks after Trump had announced his 2020 reelection bid, the Democratic House began to impeach the president on the new grounds that he had talked to the President Zelensky of Ukraine and said he might delay offensive arms shipments—unless the Ukrainians could demonstrate that they had ended corruption and, in particular, were no longer influenced by the Biden family quid pro quo shakedowns.

Trump was proven right: the Biden family is not just corrupt, but, in particular, Joe Biden as head of the family and Vice President had intervened in the internal politics of an aid recipient, by threatening not to delay but rather to cancel outright all U.S. aid to Ukraine—unless it fired Viktor Shokin, a Ukrainian prosecutor.

They’re circling the wagons, including the ones carrying CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, The Washington Post, the New York Times, and all the other leftist mouthpieces.

“Freedom of the press” indeed.

Daily Broadside | Something, Somewhere, Sometime, Will Have to Give

Daily Verse | Psalm 73:2-3
But as for me, my feet had almost slipped;
I had nearly lost my foothold.
For I envied the arrogant
when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

Friday’s Reading: Psalms 78-83
Saturday’s Reading: Psalms 84-89

It’s Friday and the end of another week in the Brandon Archipelago from where there is no escape. There aren’t any more undiscovered continents to which we can flee the developing tyranny here. The only options are to submit or to join the battle when it comes.

The American cultural and political landscape has been bulldozed and fundamentally reshaped over the last half century. A one-party oligarchy tied to the radical ideology of identity politics controls our major institutions as populist resistance rises. Digital technology continues to reshape human behavior and institutions, causing an escalating war over its control.

The views of roughly half the population of America are increasingly suppressed and delegitimized by most major institutions and media outlets. This difference in opinion is not a mere matter of policy preferences. Americans are divided about what men and women, the family, citizenship, and nation-states are and ought to be, as well as when human life begins.

Few want to admit the reality of the situation, but Americans are now divided over the building blocks and the purpose of human civilization. Many do not consider what underlies all the factionalism amidst the noise, but this does not change the sordid reality. There is no possibility of reconciling this fundamental opposition unless one side or the other wins.

I’m not advocating an insurrection, although I believe that the elites are pressing to provoke one every day. I wouldn’t be surprised if one eventually broke out. A real insurrection, I mean, not a group of unarmed patriotic Americans walking through the halls of Congress as if on a tour.

We’ve already withstood more tyranny and the erosion of our rights than those suffered by the colonists who took up arms at Lexington and Concord and threw tea into Boston harbor. There are so many, we could write a new declaration of independence and a list of grievances similar to what Thomas Jefferson penned some 246 years ago.

Victor Davis Hanson is an accomplished historian and author, and one of my favorite columnists. He’s sounding the alarm, too.

“I hesitate to say this, we’re not in a society ruled by law,” Hanson, a senior fellow with the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” referring to attacks on pro-life groups which he argued have largely gone unpunished. “We’re in a revolutionary period like 18th century France or 1920s Russia where the law is fluid and it’s whatever the power to be says it is.”

Our life together is being intentionally battered by cultural Marxists, who are destroying the foundations of an ordered society. We’re up against a triumvirate of institutions working together to create chaos and deprive us of our freedoms: politics, journalism and business.

While the politicians have to maintain the appearance of respecting the Bill of Rights, they are working hand-in-glove with “the press” to suppress news that contradicts the Leftist narrative. How much have you heard about the assassination attempt on Justice Kavanaugh? How about the Hunter Biden story that every outlet dismissed as Russian propaganda?

Big business is on board with the Marxist agenda. Most have embraced LGBTQWERTY+ and gladly implemented Covid policies. Workers who object or refuse to cooperate with their (unconstitutional) demands find themselves at risk of losing their jobs.

In the past, the American Right set out to conserve American institutions and an American way of life through partisan political action and advocacy. The “culture war” was always real, but for the most part it was fought within explicitly political spaces via explicitly political means. Businesses and the economy were considered “neutral” spaces, subject to discipline from shareholders and market demand.

Today, however, few elite professions or corporations allow their members to safely dissent from woke dogma; everyone knows they risk their job and career if they do so publicly. The woke agenda has been grafted into most major corporations. And since culture is made in large part by corporations, mainstream media and culture have largely turned into tools to support one side of the divide.

There’s only so much that rational people will endure. Something, somewhere, sometime, will have to give.

Today is my last post for a couple of weeks as I take some time away to a favorite spot on the east coast. My childhood friend, Bruce Gust, will be filling in for me while I’m gone like he did last year. He’s a solid Christian, a former Marine, a conservative, a husband and father, blogs at Muscular Christianity, and knows what a woman is.

You’re in good hands.

Have a great weekend couple of weeks.

DAILY BROADSIDE | Has CRT Already Peaked? Don’t bank on it.

Daily Verse | Ecclesiastes 2:24
A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God.

Wednesday and because my day job is demanding more of me this week, this morning’s offer is going to be quick.

Victor Davis Hanson wrote a solid piece last week that’s been making the rounds in which he examines The American Descent into Madness. He writes,

In the last six months, we have seen absurdities never quite witnessed in modern America. Madness, not politics, defines it. There are three characteristics of all these upheavals. One, the events are unsustainable. They will either cease or they will destroy the nation, at least as we know it. Two, the law has largely been rendered meaningless. Three, left-wing political agendas justify any means necessary to achieve them.

He then addresses Citizenship as Mere Residency, Crime as Construct, The Campus Con, Commissars and Jacobins, Inflation Is a Mere Construct, Our People’s Military, Keep Cuba Castroite? and The United Nations Über Alles. While I encourage you to read the whole thing, the one I want to call attention to is the fourth: Commissars and Jacobins. Here’s what VDH writes (with my emphasis):

The critical race theory craze is reaching peak woke, or is already on the downslope. No complex and sophisticated society is sustainable with a Maoist creed of cannibalizing citizens for thought crimes. Commissars do not produce anything or serve anybody, but only monitor thoughts and speech to ascertain the purity of diversity, equity, and inclusion. They are not just a drain on the productive sector but will insidiously destroy it, since their currency is to ensure a timid, obsequiousness and banal orthodoxy.

We know from the failed Soviet system and from the French Revolution that the most mediocre in society became its most eager auditors of correct behavior. The arbiters of proper thought—the self-righteous paid toady, the perpetual victim employed in service to government payback, the freelancing snitch—were always the villains of freedom, productivity, and humanity, whether we read of the killing off of Alexander the Great’s inner circle, the forced suicides of the Neronian circle, the Jacobin murder spree, or the nightmarish world described by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.

That the Biden Administration has now joined with Silicon Valley to hunt down on social media any dissenters from this month’s official policy on vaccinations and mask-wearing was not so shocking as to be expected from a media that banned coverage of Hunter Biden’s laptop. In Cuban-fashion, millions of judge-jury-executioner online snitches, with government encouragement, will help root out incorrect thoughts at light speed.

I hope he’s right about CRT. But knowing the Left, once CRT has outlived its usefulness to them, they’ll find something else to push on us and scream about. In my opinion, the way to defeat these jackals is to stand up to them by saying, “No.” As in, “No, I don’t accept your premise that I’m racist or that a man can be a woman. And you’re nuts to believe those things.”

I strongly encourage you to study up on CRT and its Marxist roots. You need to know your enemy.

And, if you don’t regularly read VDH, you should.
