Daily Broadside | Gay Sex in Senate Chambers Shows How Far We Have Fallen

I’ve been watching and responding to culture and politics for a long time now, and there’s not a lot that surprises me anymore. I’ve learned that politicians are, generally speaking, not upstanding, principled public servants but self-serving grifters who are mostly interested in staying elected to feed at the public trough.

That’s the baseline level of normal in politics now.

Every now and then, though, there are extreme, “watershed” moments that put me back on my heels as American traditions and norms are destroyed by the cultural Maoists who have infiltrated the ranks of federal, state and local governments.

One of those happened again last Friday.

Leaked amateur pornography shows a congressional staffer having anal sex with an unknown man in the Senate hearing room, video obtained by the Daily Caller shows.

The alleged staffer can also be seen in a photo, naked on all fours, looking back at the camera on the table where Senators often sit to ask questions during a hearing.

There is so much that is wrong with this incident but before I get to that, note that if this was a heterosexual hook up videoed in a Senate hearing room, I’d have a problem with that too. My response is not driven by the fact that this was gay pornography. That’s a factor, but my response is driven by something more significant than that.

To begin with, we have an act of casual sex between (one assumes) two consenting adults. Again, this could’ve been a consenting man and woman having sex. Sex is one of our primal urges and is both the source of our greatest pleasure in life and the cause of many troubles throughout all of human history.

In the course of time, Amnon son of David fell in love with Tamar, the beautiful sister of Absalom son of David. Amnon became so obsessed with his sister Tamar that he made himself ill. She was a virgin, and it seemed impossible for him to do anything to her.
(2 Samuel 13:1-2, NIV)

Read the rest here.

But not only is it sex, it’s homosexual sex. At this point in our cultural collapse, no one even cares anymore that it’s two men caught in flagrante delicto. It only took 60 years for homosexuality to go from a shameful closeted sin to a omnipresent cultural influence that is celebrated with its own “Pride” month.

But we forget that homosexuality, like casual sex between heterosexuals, is a perversion of God’s sexual design for man and woman.

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
(1 Corinthians 6:9-10, NIV)

The footnote for the bolded phrase reads: “The words men who have sex with men translate two Greek words that refer to the passive and active participants in homosexual acts.”

But not only is it casual sex, and casual sex of the homosexual variety, but these two dudes decided to film themselves engaged in it. Again, that doesn’t surprise anyone anymore because there are so many “sex tapes” involving the rich and famous, the not so rich and famous, and thousands of unknowns because amateur pornography is rampant in our society. Anyone can set up a camera in the bedroom or the boardroom or on the beach and film their raw lust for all to see.

Why someone chooses to do that, with all the risks it entails, I’ll never know.

But to top it all off, this particular homosexual act wasn’t filmed in a private bedroom, or an empty boardroom in some nondescript office building, or on some public beach under the shade of a palm tree. This homosexual act was filmed in what might be considered one of the most sacrosanct buildings in the world. It is home to what once was considered “the world’s greatest deliberative body,” the envy of the modern world, one that commanded deferential respect.

Here served the likes of Henry Clay, Daniel Webster, Charles Sumner, John C. Calhoun, Henry Cabot Lodge, Hubert Humphrey, and John F. Kennedy, among others.

What these two men did was a moral abomination and an indefensible disgrace. While the one who was identified has been fired, the inviolable and solemn decorum historically associated with the Senate has been violated in a shocking and repugnant lack of decency.

I liken it to pissing on someone’s grave, but worse.

Believe it or not, this is all going to plan. What plan, you ask? (H/T Kevin Downey Jr.)

6. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and press.
7. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in the media.
8. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, and healthy.”

Well. Here we are.

Just like we can’t go back to the time before Slick Willy poked Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office, we can’t undo the act of sodomy that desecrated the Senate. We cannot go back to an undefiled state. It’s happened.

And it’s happened because our culture produces the people who performed the act.

But we can reject the growing depravity we’re witnessing before it metastasizes and ruins us all. We can turn from our wickedness and seek God and beg forgiveness and mercy.

That’s my prayer.

Daily Broadside | Smut No Longer Hidden in Brown Paper Wrappers But Presented Live and in Public to Children

I assume that many of you have seen the reports of “Pride” events around the states. All are little more than wicked displays of hedonism. Content warning for links to the following videos.

A nearly naked man in underpants twerks in front of children in Minneapolis.

Fully naked men proudly show their penises to children in Seattle.

An “all ages family-friendly” pride festival in Denver.

Overtly-sexual performances and entertainment with children present at a Pride event in Arlington, TX.

The event above took place “directly next to a big church in Arlington. This, of course, is not a surprise; a frequent strategy of the organizers of these events is to incorporate faith and religion in their blasphemous performances” (emphasis mine).

Here, a street preacher is surrounded, mocked and belittled by members of a “Pride” event who “woof” like dogs and claim they are “born this way.”

Back to the children. It’s clear that these sexually obsessed perverts are determined to force their version of morality on the next generations of children. Listen to this crowd in the annual New York City Drag March chant, “We’re here, we’re queer, we’re coming for your children!”

We all agree they are grooming our children.

Intentionally.

Methodically.

Without apology.

I look at this and think, “How much more can we tolerate?” Seriously. I mean, how low can we allow it to go? We’re at a severe level of deviancy and licentiousness. This is a Sodom-and-Gomorrah kind of wickedness.

Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”

God destroyed that city for its sexual deviancy.

Worst of all, I’m aghast not only with the flaunting of public nudity (isn’t that illegal?), but with the fact that parents are exposing their children to this debauchery. This isn’t about “rights” and a hand wave away because parents “know what’s best” for their children. What has happened to their sense of propriety? How is it that they’ve become accessories to the destruction of the youngest and most innocent of minds and bodies?

The Church cannot be party to this. In fact, the Church should be leading the charge against sexual deviancy. Unfortunately, many churches embrace homosexuality and show up to “Pride” parades to show “love and support” for those who practice homosexuality. It’s “loving,” you see, to support such people. We don’t want to come across as hateful and judge-y now, do we?

I imagine a day when thousands upon thousands of Christians and like-minded Americans show up and outnumber participants and audiences at these crass and tasteless spectacles. Be prepared to be arrested, though, for causing a disturbance or for engaging in “hate” speech.

We should not be afraid to exhibit righteous indignation and, frankly, outrage over the clear degeneracy being displayed. God said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know.”

It was as bad as the outcry that reached him. And there were consequences.

Do you suppose the outcry against America is currently “so great and our sin so grievous” before a holy God? Why should we think we’re somehow immune to a similar fate?

Driving on the Wrong Side of the Road

How Bizarre is That?

Imagine someone driving on the wrong side of the road and justifying it by saying they have the right to be happy.

How bizarre is that?

Now envision that same situation, only now that person is being pulled from the wreckage that was their automobile after colliding with another car because they were in the wrong lane. But instead of admitting that it was their fault, they insist that it’s all due to an oppressive system that obligates them to conform in ways that make them feel uncomfortable.

The person who wants to see themselves as their own absolute is having to constantly reconfigure the human experience in order to validate their mindset as being beyond reproach. They’re like the middle schooler who turns in their multiple choice exam believing that because they had the freedom to choose how they wanted to answer each question, they’re automatically deserving of a perfect score.

This is the world of the individual who has declared himself as his own bottom line. There are no failing test scores, there are no standards, and anything that could be accurately processed as a consequence of their actions is dismissed by labeling it as a hateful convention coming from either a corrupt institution that needs to be destroyed or an ignorant individual that needs to be silenced.

They shoot themselves in the foot and then blame all the pain they’re in on the one who told them not to pull the trigger to begin with.

When you attempt to reason with this kind of person, you are not being heard as someone who’s questioning their logic as much as you are challenging their authority. It’s not about what’s true, it’s about what works as far as those statistics and testimonies that can be used to make a self serving agenda appear compassionate and preferrable while simultaneously validating themselves as the only one that they’re accountable to.

And yet…

Practical Gravity and Simple Math

The validity of one’s perspective is ultimately proven by what happens when that perspective is put into practice. However convoluted and volatile the debate may be, feelings and beliefs can be readily identified as being either clarifying or distracting simply by observing those things that result from the application of any one methodology.

Should one approach translate to a world of pain and problems, that perspective can then be logically subordinated to a viewpoint that yields better results. At that point, you’re not looking at anything other than pure utility and however passionate you may be about your particular brand of morality, you are no longer able to assert your preferences as principles when all that exists in the aftermath is a mess you expect someone else to clean up.

There has always been an element that wants to push back against those things that remind them that there is such a thing as “practical gravity.” You cannot hope to do certain things and not have to contend with the natural consequences of your actions. If you decide to jump out of an airplane as it’s flying through the sky, you can’t deny the effects of gravity simply because you want to believe that you have the right to be happy or because you believe that gravity is a byproduct of an oppressive hierarchy.

In a similar way, you can’t drive on the wrong side of the road and not risk a head on collision, nor can you embrace what amounts to a perverse or irresponsible lifestyle and not be confronted with the medical and practical realities that characterize the choice that you have made.

There is a natural order in place that transcends whatever it is that drives your resolve and you can’t circumvent that infrastructure simply because it doesn’t coincide with your opinion on the matter.

It’s math, really.

The way you think + the way you act = the price you pay

Wise decisions tend to be very beneficial and cost very little.

On the other hand, foolish choices can be lethal and in that way are very expensive.

And here’s the thing: When that bill arrives, it’s your responsibility. However you want to insist that it’s someone else’s fault or another person’s obligation, you’re the one that has to come up with the functional finances necessary to pay the amount owed which will inevitably include a lack of fulfillment, a substantial amount of wasted time and a collection of physical and emotional scars.

Antiquated Traditions

Some want to try and avoid the “practical gravity” of their situation by insisting that the angst they experience as a result of the way they choose to process themselves and the world around them is due to the unjust and antiquated traditions of the society they live in.

Perhaps.

But then again, if your perspective is revealed as being problematic in terms of what happens when your perspective is put into practice, it’s not the society you live in that’s causing the tension, it’s the organic outcome of your flawed approach.

It’s not the Supreme Court, it’s not a political party, it’s not a cultural trend or a societal norm.

You’re driving on the wrong side of the road and there are consequences to not staying in your lane that are based more so on the laws of Physics and Chemistry then they are the Department of Motor Vehicles.

This is the problem you inevitably encounter when you establish any kind of human agency as your philosophical foundation.

Die, Quit or Change

You have chosen to build your existence on a platform that is destined to either die, quit or change. It is as fluid as it is inconsistent and whatever rights or truisms you want to maintain as givens will resonate as such only when you’ve surrounded yourself with like-minded individuals. Reason being is that you can’t logically condemn another person’s viewpoint if everyone is entitled to their opinion and the universe is nothing more than a lucky mistake.

This is what happens when you remove God from the equation. Bear in mind that there are only two religions in the world: Either God is God or you are. Every religion on the planet empowers the individual with the ability to facilitate their own salvation. Only Christianity maintains that you are not your own deity and the only thing that you contribute to your salvation is the sin that makes it necessary.

When you embrace God as your philosophical starting point and the Substance of the empty tomb as what defines your identity, you’re no longer tasked with having to manufacture a reason for your existence or an enduring Source of fulfillment.

Bear in mind we’re talking about the Person of Jesus Christ – the Son of God and not a corrupted clergyman or a hypocritical layperson. Neither one of those two individuals died for your sins or put the planets in their place.

The Image of God, the Son of God and the Spirit of God

You are made in the Image of God, you have been redeemed by the Son of God and you have access to a Perfect Source of Purpose, Peace and Power because of the Spirit of God who lives in and through you.

Like our Founding Fathers, you can effectively dispute injustice because you’re not limited to a human premise, and unlike those who borrow from God without believing in Him, you can accurately claim an entitlement as a legitimate right because you know that they’re gifts from God He gives to guard your way and not weapons you use in an attempt to get your way.

Moreover, you don’t see His Instructions as “rules” as much as you see them as “tools” that you use to realize a life where you are making a difference and not just an appearance.

Scale That Wall and Dismantle That Strategy

There will always be people who drive on the wrong side of the road. They will justify themselves with compelling sounding arguments framed by a strategy designed to avoid that direct line of questioning that has the capacity to reveal their platform as toxic and self-serving.

But you can scale that wall and dismantle that strategy by focusing on the empirical results of their perspective and allow the logic of how a flawed methodology needs to be subordinated to an approach that yields a better outcome.

When you hear someone say, “That’s your opinion!” or “You can’t force your beliefs on me!” they’re neither proving their point nor are they proving you to be wrong. Rather, they’re attempting to secure the kind of pity that’s awarded to the person who’s been hurt in order to distract from the wreckage caused by their own decision making.

You can’t always change a person’s mind without changing their heart and only God can do that.

But God can use you to make an impact and you want to be ready to do more than argue…

You want to champion the Truth by asking the right questions and letting their responses not only make your point, but more importantly make Him known.

Separation of Church and State | Part II

Consider for a moment the questions we’ve asked thus far:

  • What is the Common Book of Prayer?
  • What is a Puritan?
  • Why did the British refer to the Revolutionary War as a “Presbyterian Rebellion?”
  • How many times did Congress call for a National Day of Prayer, Fasting and Humiliation?

The first two questions outline the way in which the Anglican Church was replacing the “Lord’s Prayer” with the “Common Book of Prayer” along with several other directives that positioned the monarchy over the Trinity. This lead to the Puritans wanting to “purify” the doctrine espoused by the Church of England and return to a biblically based approach to one’s relationship with Christ.

By the 1700s, the “Act of Uniformity” had been expanded to include mandates pertaining to church government – something very beligerent in the mind of a Presbyterian who subscribed to a Scriptural approach to elders and deacons as they are described in the New Testament.

Moreover, part of the “Common Book of Prayer” included prayers that were to be made for the king, which implied a form of political support regardless of that monarch’s character or conduct.1

This is what was meant by the “separation of church and state.”

The delegates that formed the Constitutional Convention were not attempting to facilitate a potentially godless society with the First Amendment. Rather, they were honoring the Authority of God’s Word by placing a limitation on the way the government could dictate the manner of your worship.

Congress could not tell you how to pray or fine you for not attending church on Sundays. There would be no legislation that dictated how a church’s government was to be structured.

But while the individual is free to choose how they worship God according to the dicates of their own conscience, the individual is not at liberty to reconfigure the Foundation upon which that right was based.

In a 2019 ruling, the Supreme Court emphasized the importance of context in determining meaning in defamation cases. They said that context is “a factor of considerable importance” and that the “…words complained of should not be fixed by technical, linguistically-precise dictionary definitions divorced from the context in which the statement was made. Nor should individual words be removed from their context and defined in isolation, before reconnecting them to the rest of the statement.2

If that ruling is to apply to the debate surrounding the separation of church and state, then you’re obligated to conclude the the Founding Fathers were not looking to limit Christianity’s influence on government as much as they were resolved to limit government’s influence on Christianity.

John Adams signed the Treaty of Tripoli which was designed to ensure the militant Muslims that were preying on American ships that the US was not planning on invading Jerusalem. Part of that Treaty says:

Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen (Muslims); and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan (Mohammedan) nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries (Treaty of Tripoli).

Some will take the statement, “…America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion” to mean that the Declaration of Independence represents nothing more than a token acknowledgement of God and the sixteen Congressional proclamations calling for a National Day of Prayer and Fasting had no specific reference to Christ.

That’s just not the case.

Adams himself said:

The general Principles, on which the Fathers Atchieved Independence, were the only Principles in which, that beautiful Assembly of young Gentlemen could Unite, and these Principles only could be intended by them in their Address, or by me in my Answer. And what were these general Principles? I answer, the general Principles of Christianity, in which all those Sects were United: And the general Principles of English and American Liberty, in which all those young Men United, and which had United all Parties in America, in Majorities Sufficient to assert and maintain her Independence.3

In 1789, James Madison, the architect behind the Bill of Rights, wrote a “Memonstrance and Remonstrance Against Religious Assessments.” His goal was to discourage the use of tax dollars to financially support teachers of the Christian religion.

His point wasn’t to discredit Christianity or minimize its place in the public square. Again, it was a concerted resolve to avoid the sins of the Church of England in the way government was used to obligate people to process and revere God in a specific way, if they were to even worship God at all.

Whilst we assert for ourselves a freedom to embrace, to profess and to observe the Religion which we believe to be of divine origin, we cannot deny an equal freedom to those whose minds have not yet yielded to the evidence which has convinced us. If this freedom be abused, it is an offence against God, not against man: To God, therefore, not to man, must an account of it be rendered.4

Again, while the individual is free to choose how they worship God according to the dicates of their own conscience, the individual is not at liberty to reconfigure the Foundation upon which that right was based.

While Madison is brilliant in his defense of not using public funds to finance religious education, bear in mind he was part of the group of men that wrote the following Congressional Proclamation:

The United States in Congress assembled, therefore do earnestly recommend, that Thursday the thrid of May next, beay be observed as a day of humiliation, fasting and prayer, that we may, with united hearts, confess and bewail our manifold sins and transgressions, and by sincere repentance and amendment of life, appease his righteous sidpleasure, and through the merits of our blessed Savior, obtain pardon and forgiveness5

The Separation of Church and State was never designed to be used as a way to normalize Homosexuality or justify Partial Birth Abortion. The government of the United States, while it will not dictate how or to whom you pray, it will not be redefined in a way that removes the Divine Absolute that is both its heritage and its Foundation.

Daily Broadside | The Left is Burning It All Down

I often find myself mourning the death of historical, traditional America. I sit in my middle class home in my middle class neighborhood, enjoying the fruit of my labor, watching my children take their next steps into adulthood, thanking God for His grace and goodness, and it seems so … normal. It’s more or less what I grew up with and it’s what I want to leave to the generations who come after me.

Yet pull out to 50,000 feet and it’s anything but “normal.” Victor Davis Hanson, or VDH as he’s known, put his finger on it in his most recent column: “The Left is waging a full-fledged cultural revolution against traditional America. And the Maoist results are often as absurd as they are terrifying.”

He goes on to catalogue the catastrophe that the Left has wrought on the country, starting with the damning Durham report.

The summary confirms that our premier investigatory and intelligence agencies interfered in the 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns.

Directors and high-ranking FBI officials lied under oath. They misled Congress. They altered court documents and deceived federal judges.

The FBI hired a foreign national to gather dirt on Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign—while he was being paid by the rival Hillary Clinton campaign.

The FBI contracted Twitter to suppress news stories. It kept the Hunter Biden laptop under wraps, even as former intelligence officials flat out lied it was likely “Russian disinformation.” That was a blatant effort to aid the 2020 Biden campaign.

Note that not one of the offenders have been called to account for their malfeasance.

Not. One.

This is not only the most egregious political crime in the history of the United States — yes, much greater than Watergate — it’s an outrageous betrayal of the social contract binding our country together. It’s a massive corruption of our legal and political system, which effectively demolishes the Constitutional order and makes us, what?

It’s not the United States of America.

VDH goes on to list the Black Grievance Grift that’s splitting us apart while the lead agitators enrich themselves; the political persecution of a young Marine who restrained a man threatening passengers on the subway — a hero in any other age now mortified as a vigilante with the perpetrator lauded as a victim of racism and oppression; and the degradation of athletic competition as biological males routinely beat female competitors in women’s sports. And then:

Under pressure from the LGBTQ activists, the Los Angeles Dodgers reinvited the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” to celebrate Pride night at Dodger Stadium.

Catholics and Christians had objected to the invitation because the group’s notoriety hinges on its sexualized and often pornographic mockery of Catholic ritual, the Holy Trinity, and Christian faith.

The supposedly courageous group would never dare extend its street-theater blasphemy to other religious groups such as Muslims or Hindus.

In a piece specifically about the Dodgers’ decision, Micah Meadowcroft writes that Christians, in particular, are no longer operating from a position of cultural strength, but weakness.

As goes baseball, so goes the country. America’s pastime may be much diminished from its golden age, but in a culturally fractured moment nostalgia makes it all the more important as a symbol. So it is worth noting, suggesting something of catacombs, when the Los Angeles Dodgers would rather offend Christians and sitting U.S. senators than risk the wrath of the homosexual lobby.

[…]

A decade, then, at least for one professional baseball organization, is how long it takes for pro-gay to become anti-Christian. This is baseball, recall; the team needn’t really have ever taken a public position on the sexual revolution, let alone prostrate, but here it is, and it says much more about American culture as a whole than about the Dodgers in particular. There was a culture war, once, and you lost.

[…]

But think for a moment about what has happened here. A large-market baseball team—an avatar of American culture and big business—was pressured by religious groups and a sitting U.S. senator to maintain a recently expected standard of public decorum. They did not protest a Pride Night and the Dodgers’ celebration of sexual expressivism, only an obviously anti-Catholic and even anti-Christian demonstration. This was a request for toleration from a position of weakness. And now there is no hesitation to trample.

I encourage you to read the whole thing (both VDH and Meadowcroft). They don’t even touch on the open border with hundreds of thousands of foreigners being allowed to violate our sovereignty, the ramifications of which we can’t even imagine; the coordinated lawsuits against parents and schools for not allowing their children to be sexualized; the profound revelation that elections in swing states are in fact rigged (and there’s no strategy adopted for fixing it); the lawlessness allowed to go unchallenged in Democrat-led cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Baltimore, Austin, Portland and any number of hellholes in between; and much more evidence that this is not your father’s America.

David Harsanyi has thoughts.

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ apology letter re-inviting the anti-Catholic Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to Pride Night reads like the unwinding of a grueling struggle session. And it ends in a predictably pitiful way, with the reactionaries promising “to better educate” themselves in the future.

In contemporary parlance, to “educate” oneself means allowing intellectually and morally stunted clowns — literally, in this case — to bully you. Because LGBT activists, like BLM activists, never need to be “educated” about anything. They have achieved enlightenment.

No, it’s the slack-jawed yokels who cling to thousands of years of intellectual and theological tradition who need lessons from the geniuses who spend Easter Sunday dressed in Virgin Mary drag, passing out condoms on a 13-stop bar crawl mocking the Stations of the Cross. The Dodgers are merely celebrating diversity by sponsoring a group that simulates sex scenes on crucifixes. Why are you fanatics starting another culture war?

Enjoy the long weekend.

Daily Broadside | What Happens in Canada Won’t Stay in Canada

Last Friday I wrote that Christians need to be prepared “to be persecuted, to be an ‘object of amusement’ being destroyed ‘not for the public good but to gratify the cruelty of an individual’ — or a political party.” I gave you the examples of Garland’s DOJ spying on the Catholic Church and punishing a pro-life father for an incident at an abortion clinic for which he had already been cleared by local authorities.

Today I’ve got two more examples for you. The first is the case of two LGBTQ++ Washington Elementary School District (AZ) school board members who objected to student teachers provided by Arizona Christian University.

One of the board members took direct offense at the language about a “biblical lens.” Another complained about specific language describing the university’s mission as to “influence, engage, and transform the culture with truth by promoting the biblically informed values that are foundational to Western civilization.” A central complaint targeted the Christian school’s commitment to “traditional sexual morality and lifelong marriage between one man and one woman.”

[…]

Board member Tamillia Valenzuela, who described herself as “a bilingual, disabled, neurodivergent Queer Black Latina,” responded: “At some point we need to get real with ourselves and take a look at who we are making legal contracts with and the message that that is sending to the community because that makes me feel like I could not be safe in this school district.” Further: “That makes queer kids who are already facing attack from our lawmakers feel that they could not be safe in this community.”

Board member Kyle Clayton agreed. “I just don’t believe that belongs in schools,” he said. “I would never want my son to talk about his two dads and be shamed by a teacher who believed a certain way and is at a school that demands that they teach through their biblical lens.”

Even though Washington Elementary School District had received student teachers from ACU for the past 11 years and none of the student teachers violated school policy, the board voted unanimously to reject the contract with the school. Note that their rejection of ACU was based solely on theological grounds — a clear violation of religious liberties.

As R. Albert Mohler Jr. goes on to write, “This blatantly unconstitutional action reveals where many people are determined the society must go. Biblical Christianity must be cut off from civilized society.”

The second example is from our cousins up north across the border, where a pastor was protesting a drag queen story hour for children. Note that it is illegal for any Canadian citizen to object to the sexualization of children in the form of drag shows. Watch what Tucker Carlson says about it.

That is one of the most chilling examples of how the tables have turned on Christians that I’ve seen. First, the pastor was literally — and violently — thrown out of a meeting where he was protesting the corruption of children. The people doing the throwing weren’t cops (that I could tell). Then the pastor was arrested for causing a disturbance, for which he will undoubtedly be prosecuted.

Finally, as Tucker asks, “Where are all the professional Christians” like Tim Keller, David French and Beth Moore? I’m not sure why he cites them, other than that they’re “Christian” celebrities. In Tucker’s mind, apparently, they defend Christianity, although I’d argue that at least one of them — David French — finds common cause with the Left more often than conservative Christianity.

In addition to asking where the celebrities are, I’d ask where the local pastors are in Canada? Are they all staying quiet? What about all the Christians in Canada? Are they all staying quiet? If so, why?

Likewise, what about in our own country? Right now, Arizona Christian University is taking the issue they’re facing to court, which is only right. We can hope for a constitutional outcome, but what if we don’t? What then?

As Carl Truman recently wrote, “The time for evangelical leaders and institutions to speak is now. The moment to use the platforms we have to protect women and children has come. If J.K. Rowling has the courage to stand for the truth and to call for the protection of children and women, then so should we. Silence in the face of this evil is culpable and, make no mistake, will be noted by future generations.”

Daily Broadside | Here’s When the Church Stops Being the Church

Although the Chinese Lung Pox destroyed our economy, killed tens of thousands of businesses and allowed our overlords to let their totalitarian freak flags fly, it did come with the benefit of exposing the sexual grooming that exists in our public schools from kindergarten through high school and into college. Because the teacher’s union wanted to join the laptop class by keeping kids out of school indefinitely, parents were able to see just what their children were “learning.”

It seems like ever since the Supreme Court of the United States found a plain but oddly invisible “right” to homosexual marriage in our Constitution, the sexual deviants have come out of the woodwork to demand their appropriate recognition in society, too. Everything from non-binarys to transsexuals to homosexuals to any of seventy-eleven more “genders” are all insisting that anyone who doesn’t support them are “homophobic” or “transphobic” or “cis-normative” or some other defamatory term they fling at us Normals.

Of course, this kind of mental psychosis has been making its way into the church for some time. Now, in the Church of England, the first “gender-queer” priest has publicly stated his intention to normalize such mental confusion among children. (I use the pronoun “his” even though he apparently uses “they/them” pronouns to refer to himself. It will come as no shock that I do not use plural pronouns for a male pretending to be something he is not and will not violate traditional rules of grammar to appease him or his supporters.)

A non-binary gender-queer Anglican priest in the United Kingdom is on record claiming to use the clerical position in hopes of “normalizing” such behavior among children.

“I try to get involved in, not just in my religious work but outside it, with the local secular LGBT youth groups,” said Rev. Bingo Allison, a Church of England priest in the Diocese of Liverpool who identifies as gender-queer and uses “they/them” pronouns, according to an interview with the Liverpool Echo.

“One of the biggest things is just being a visual representation in my community and going into schools, doing assemblies and making a huge difference in normalizing it for children. When I’m wearing my collar it lets children know that is OK and that there is a place in church and the outside world for people like me,” Allison added.

Here we have an agent of the devil who has managed to infiltrate the body of Christ with the evil intention of corrupting the most innocent among us — our children. I believe Jesus warned against leading children astray.

“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!” — Matthew 18:6-7

Is teaching children that it’s normal to think you’re the opposite sex or no sex at all and to mutilate your body to “affirm” your emotional confusion causing them to stumble, or nah?

Mr. Allison also claims that he had “an epiphany” at one point when he was writing an essay about Genesis 1:27.

Allison, who claims to be the first non-binary gender-queer priest in England’s established church, also claimed to have discovered a biblical basis for gender fluidity during a late-night reading of Genesis 1:27, which recounts how God created humans male and female.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them,” reads the verse, which Allison maintained expresses “maleness to femaleness” instead of men and women.

Apparently, this was his discovery that the Bible endorses gender fluidity when instead, it exposes his willful ignorance of the Hebrew language. The Liverpool article doesn’t tell us how he concluded that “the language which the bible originally used in Genesis 1:27 spoke about ‘from maleness to femaleness’ as opposed to men and women.” Any reputable commentary concludes nothing of the sort, and the Hebrew text itself distinctly says, “male and female” (זָכָ֥ר וּנְקֵבָ֖ה). All Allison says is, “I was sitting there in the middle of the night when I realised I might need to run my life upside down. It was a deepening spiritual experience, I properly felt God was guiding me into this new truth about myself.”

He had a personal interior experience that he claims was “spiritual” based on feelings and a corrupt reading of the scriptures. Is it possible that his corrupt nature led him to conclusions that aren’t supported by scripture but are supported by the culture?

Well, lookee here: how convenient for him that the Anglican Church of England is a woke, liberal institution that caters to the culture.

The Church of England in the Western world is rapidly losing members in its attempt to remain culturally relevant, according to multiple conservative Anglicans and former Anglicans who spoke to Fox News Digital.

“They’re reflecting the culture,” Andrea Williams, chief executive of the London-based nonprofit Christian Legal Centre, told Fox News Digital. “So in order to be in step with the culture, they’re looking to appease the culture instead of looking to what the Bible says and to what the church should be saying.”

Evangelical and conservative Protestants need to know their doctrine and stand against the liars and false teachers who are infiltrating the fellowship of believers.

Daily Broadside | Have We Restored Our Norms Yet? Oh. Never Mind

Daily Verse | Hosea 4:12
My people consult a wooden idol,
and are answered by a stick of wood.
A spirit of prostitution leads them astray;
they are unfaithful to their God.

Thursday’s Reading: Hosea 8-14

Thursday and we’re at the halfway point of September. “Thirty days hath September …”

When I say that the Left is all about sowing chaos and shattering norms by forcing their warped vision of “norms” on the country, I mean things like Resident Brandon’s appointment of Dr. Demetre Daskalakis as the White House National Monkeypox Response Deputy Coordinator.

This guy seems helpful and informative.

Oops, wrong media. My bad.

This guy seems … disturbed.

Just like “Dark Brandon” is the jokey side of the Resident, so here we have Dark Demetre. But this isn’t funny. The National Pulse has an in-depth article about Daskalakis.

Daskalakis is known for his efforts in the world of HIV and other diseases affecting the LGBTQ+ community, having attended New York University Medical School, followed by a residency, fellowship, and additional masters degree from Harvard Medical School. In an interview with The Atlantic in 2014, he said “I learned my bedside manner from East Village drag queens.” He attended Columbia University as an undergraduate and was a “general and religion double major.” Raised by Greek Orthodox immigrants in Arlington, Virginia, a review of Dr. Daskalakis’s social media presence reveals a penchant for pentagrams and other Satanic symbolism, The National Pulse can reveal.

Daskalakis’s social media presence is disturbing, to say the least. Alongside his partner Michael MacNeal, the pair launched a “goth” gym in New York, which originally ran out of the high-profile Equinox gym chain, before spinning off into its own brand based in a former gay nightclub that in turn had taken over an old church in Manhattan: Monster Cycle.

Monster Cycle’s social media pages are full of references to Satanism, the devil, burning crosses, and pentagrams, and more. While the gym got fawning coverage from the New York Times (below) in 2014, its review on “SweatConcierge” made references to “alarming” imagery and “terrifying” co-ed locker rooms.

Daskalakis’s appointment is consistent with this administration’s hiring proclivities. From Rod Dreher at The American Conservative:

Are there any limits to the weirdos this Democratic administration will hire for important positions? You might have thought the baldheaded cross-dressing sadomasochist Sam Brinton was the outer limits (Biden appointed him to head an office within the Department of Energy). And, of course, transgender assistan Secretary of Health Rachel Levine:

Image: The American Conservative.

It’s bizarre. These men—all are biological males—apparently have strong capabilities in their areas of expertise but are perverted and just … weird. As Dreher asks, “Why?” Why does Brandon insist on elevating these people to positions of influence? I mean, he can appoint who he wants, but all three are sexually depraved in the extreme.

Dr. Demetre Daskalakis cofounded a gym called The Monster Cycle. A Facebook post on that page from 2014 says, “We’ll Steal Your Soul.”

That’s what Daskalakis peddles.

And they call us extremists.

Daily Broadside | Progressives, When Pushed, Can’t Handle the Truth

Daily Verse | Job 40:8
“Would you discredit my justice? Would you condemn me to justify yourself?”

Wednesday’s Reading: Job 41-42

Wednesday and a couple of nights ago we watched “What is a Woman?” starring author Matt Walsh of The Daily Wire. Bottom line on top: watch it.

In an age of progressive sexual insanity, Walsh sets out to ask experts, activists, and regular people on the street, “What is a woman?” You won’t be surprised to hear that most of them have no idea how to answer the question. Not only do they not know how to answer the question, a few of them threaten to end the interview—and one eventually does.

My wife and I sat there, astonished, at just how inverted (at least part of) our culture has become. It is so upside-down.

Like, Sodom and Gomorrah upside-down.

Then the Lord said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know.” (Genesis 18:20-21)

Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.” (Genesis 19:4-5)

Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the Lord out of the heavens. Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land. (Genesis 19:24-25)

To give you a taste of just how far some members of our society have fallen down the rabbit hole, here’s part of the conversation Walsh had with pediatric professor Dr. Michelle Forcier.

In their sit-down, she says kids are ready for ‘medical affirmation when they ask for it’ – even if it’s before they have reached puberty.

‘Medical affirmation begins when the patient says they’re ready for it.

‘That could be a kiddo who is just starting puberty and they’re panicking because they’re just getting breast buds, or their penis is getting bigger and busier and they’re worried about all kinds of masculine changes,’ the doctor said.

That is when she says doctors can safely prescribe puberty blockers, claiming they are ‘completely reversible’ and ‘don’t have permanent effects.’

‘[They are] wonderful because we can put that pause on puberty, just like you’re listening to music.

‘You put the pause on and puberty would go right back to where it was, the next note in the song, just delay that period of time.’

Dr. Forcier also told him that his sperm doesn’t make him male and that an objective truth does not exist.

‘Whose truth are we talking about?’ she said.

‘The same truth that says we’re sitting in this room right now you and I,’ Walsh replied.

She shot back: ‘No, you’re not listening.’

Walsh pushed back: ‘If I see a chicken laying eggs and I say that’s a female chicken, did I assign female? Or am I just observing a physical reality that’s happening?’

The doctor, rejecting his argument, said: ‘Does a chicken have gender identity? Does a chicken cry? Does a chicken commit suicide? A chicken has an assigned gender but a chicken doesn’t have gender identity.’

She also said it’s only an assumption that a chicken laying eggs is female.

Among the puberty blockers that are used is Lupron, which can also be used to treat endometriosis and prostate cancer.

It has been used in the past to chemically castrate sex offenders.

Fortunately, Walsh also interviewed a Dr. Miriam Grossman, who “spoke of the dangers of prescribing kids with the drugs too early and said she’d spoken to the mother of a teenage trans girl who now has osteoporosis.” Osteoporosis is an old person’s disease.

‘How can they be removing the healthy breasts of 15-year-old girls? How can they be sterilizing kids? How can this whole thing be happening, Matt?’ she said.

I kept asking the same question throughout the documentary: “How is this possible?” It was all so absurd.

It wasn’t until Walsh flew to Africa that there was finally some relief. There, he met with tribal leaders and asked them some of the same questions he was asking in the United States.

“If you want to become a lady but you’re a man, you have something wrong in your family. Something wrong in you.” Right.

It feels so weird to have to look for some semblance of normalcy in a third-world country instead of one of the most advanced countries in history. But those tribesmen are who I identified with—not the “experts” that Walsh interviewed.

The trans-cult is truly troubling because they’re denying biological reality in favor of “feelings” or “perceptions” or “my truth.” It is irrational, meaning not logical or reasonable, detached from what is, in fact, true. And the worst part of it is that those who subscribe to such irrationality expect you to affirm their delusional views.

Some of the “experts” that Walsh interviewed got very testy or talked in circular arguments when he pushed on their assumptions. One in particular, a University of Tennessee women’s studies professor, said it was “transphobic, rude and condescending” to seek objective truth rather than accepting what people tell you.

When Walsh asked him to define what a woman is, the same professor answered, “A person who identifies as a woman.”

Walsh: “But what are they identifying as?”

Professor: “As a woman.”

Walsh: “What is that?”

Professor: “As a woman.”

A woman is a … woman. That’s the definition.

And these are the people teaching our children.

These are the people grooming our children.

These are the people abusing our children.

The Left has pushed for a utopian future, but we’re well onto the leading edge of a creeping dystopian nightmare.

“What is a Woman?” is a swift kick to the shins. As we sit in our suburban homes and attend our suburban churches, there is an evil rot saturating every facet of our society that is being ignored. At what point will sane men and women mount a counter-offensive?

Should you watch the movie? Yes, and encourage others to do the same.

Daily Broadside | Brandon Gives Brinton the Recognition He Longs For

Daily Verse | Numbers 4:20
“But the Kohathites must not go in to look at the holy things, even for a moment, or they will die.”

Monday’s Reading: Numbers 9-12

Monday and we’re off to a new week in the ever more increasingly bizarre clown world that is the Brandon administration.

Politico reported last week that Sam Brinton, an LGBTQ+ activist and drag queen “pup” fetishist, has been appointed to serve as deputy assistant secretary of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition for the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Nuclear Energy (ONE).

Behold your new high-level official of a key federal department:

There’s no doubt the “non-binary” man seems capable of his job.

According to a biography Brinton provided to the LGBTQ Religious Archives Network (LGBTQ-RAN), he holds a dual Master’s degree from MIT in engineering systems and nuclear science and engineering, is the founder of “Core Solutions Consulting that provides technical expertise on topics ranging from nuclear waste management to advanced nuclear reactor innovation and nuclear non-proliferation policy to advanced nuclear companies,” and has advised Congress on related issues.

But there’s more to Sam Brinton than his degree, and I’m not going to spend any time on his “pup” fetish or his interest in sex with animals. You can find that on your own if you’re interested. What I’m more concerned about is his activism and what this unprecedented step means for the future of our government and nation.

However, the biography also details Brinton’s work as an adviser to the Obama administration on LGBT issues and an activist for campaigns to ban talk therapy for unwanted same-sex attraction, such as the BornPerfect Campaign and 50 Bills 50 States, ostensibly driven by his experience as a “survivor of a traumatic and torturous conversion therapy experience.”

This is the key. Perhaps you wonder what his sexual proclivities have to do with his ability to do his job.

Nothing. He can (apparently) do the job.

The problem is the agenda that comes with Sam Brinton.

He also openly says, on his website, that he uses his nuclear background to gain access to senior corridors of power, to influence leaders to accept the full panoply of sexual deviance:

You might believe that Brinton’s capacity to do the DOE job has nothing to do with his kink activism, but he doesn’t share your belief. He believes that it is good and right to gain access to senior levels of government, and use that access for advocacy. Anybody inside DOE who has to work with this guy now should be on notice that he is going to be watching them for signs that they don’t affirm him in every way — and he will make trouble for them. Guaranteed.

Here’s the thing: Brandon and his cohort of activists don’t care about you and your conservative norms. The appointment of Sam Brinton is so in our face, so depraved, so contrary to what has been considered “normal” and “moral” for generations, that it offends the sensibilities of Normal Americans.

But “normal” Americans are a dying breed. Brinton is not universally seen as a perverted and mentally unwell person. As Rod Dreher writes, “We live in a culture in which Brinton is not seen as a failure, but as a success.”

It is going to be quite interesting to see how official conservative Washington responds to the Sam Brinton hire. I bet response is muted to positive. Why? Because though what Brinton represents is being championed by liberals, and he is a progressive hero, objecting publicly to people like Brinton and what they represent is something that is no longer done in elite circles, even among conservative elites. By the time the Boomers and the Xers die out, there will be no one left to object.

Meanwhile, as I’ve said, this is radically changing our society. Read the Rensselaer Polytechnic story: the young are being taught, and accepting the teaching, that perverts like Sam Brinton are liberating and sympathetic figures, figures that incarnate possible futures for themselves. Is this what you want for your children? Because we are all going to get it.

We need to all realize — and I’m talking to myself here too — that classical liberalism is not going to save us from this decadence. I have long resisted the implications of this conclusion, because I really do want to live in a world of relative tolerance. I am not as confident as others that this is the natural end point of liberalism, because we lived within classical liberalism for centuries without this kind of thing. What is becoming clear to me is that this is what classical liberalism is when separated from Christian faith, or at least from a metaphysical/religious structure that sets boundaries within the classical liberal framework. This is what the Founding Father John Adams meant when he said:

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.”

And here we are today: post-Christian, and plunging into decadence because we have unbridled our basest passions. If Sam Brinton kept his base passions hidden, that would be one thing. But he parades them, has built a lucrative public profile and career on them, and openly exploits them for cultural and political hegemony. When Brinton was in short pants, his predecessors in the movement appealed to liberal values of tolerance and individual dignity to open the doors to people like him. Now that they are in command of the culture, there will be no more liberal tolerance, only compelled affirmation of the kind of deviance that was unimaginable a generation ago to most people.

Giving Brinton a highly elevated role in the federal government validates his sexual perversions, his debased morality, and his mental unwellness. It also pokes a very large finger in the eyes of what’s left of a modest and largely Christian culture.

But this is our country now and it’s defining deviance down further than we ever thought possible.
