Daily Broadside | The Democrats Have No Shame as They Visit the Heights of Hypocrisy

Daily Verse | 2 Samuel 10:12
“Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in his sight.

Wednesday’s Reading: 2 Samuel 11-14

It’s mid-week and whatever is going on in Ukraine is a sideshow compared to what is happening here in the country formerly known as the United States of America, courtesy of the Brandon Crime Family, the criminal organization known as the Democrats and the Neville Chamberlain Republicans. While the Dems went scorched earth on a duly elected president and continue the farce of an investigation of a perfectly legal protest of the election results on January 6 (with some innocents who were lured into, at most, trespassing at the capitol along with a few nitwits who did some real damage) while they allowed BLM and antifa agitators and anarchists to turn our streets into a real-life version of The Purge: Election Year, they now have the audacity to whine about how Republicans treated SCOTUS nominee and non-biologist Ketanji Brown Jackson and to go after Justice Thomas’s wife for perfectly legal texts between her and Mark Meadows during the so called “insurrection” on January 6.

Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-Liberal) and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin’s (D-Ultra-Lib) complaints have zero purchase with me after how they and their colleagues treated Brett Kavanaugh and, if you really want to know, Justice Thomas at his hearings, led by no one other than the current Resident when he still had what passed for brains back then.

Sen. Joe Manchin on Tuesday criticized the behavior exhibited by Republicans toward Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson during her confirmation hearings last week, according to The Hill.

The West Virginia Democrat — who announced on Friday that he would support Jackson’s confirmation to the high court — said GOP senators who repeatedly cut off the federal judge while she was seeking to explain her sentencing decisions exhibited poor judgment.

“It was disgraceful, it really was, what I saw,” he told reporters. “And I met with her and I read all the transcripts. I listened to basically the hearings and it just was embarrassing.”

Manchin added: “It’s not who we are. It’s not what we were sent here to do, to attack other people and just try to tear them down. I won’t be part of that. I think she’s extremely well-qualified and I think she’ll be an exemplary judge.”

Ackshully, senator, it’s EXACTLY who your party is. Your party, senator, does think that attacking other people and trying to tear them down is, in fact, WHAT THEY WERE SENT THERE TO DO. It’s your party, not the Republicans, who literally find lying liars like Christine Blasey Ford to smear innocent men like Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas out of ideological spite because you can’t bear the thought of a conservative stalling the progressive agenda of imposing a Marxist tyranny on America.

And the Democrats are again trying to make a mountain out of a molehill (is that racist?! probably) by going way beyond the bounds of decency and scope of their powers by revealing that they have text messages from Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, Justice Clarence Thomas’s wife and a conservative activist who “allegedly exchanged 29 texts with White House chief of staff Mark Meadows” in the wake of the 2020 presidential election.

What did those incriminating messages say?

“Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!!” Thomas wrote in Nov. 10, 2020, message after most media outlets called the election for Biden, according to the Post.

“You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America’s constitutional governance at the precipice. The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.”

Thomas never mentions her husband or the court in the messages, which were among the more than 2,300 turned over by Meadows to the House select committee investigating the riot, the Post said.

But the messages allegedly include her making reference to “The Biden crime family” and urging Meadows to continue the fight. A final message sent four days after Jan. 6 laments what Thomas calls “the end of Liberty.”

Gee, I didn’t know you weren’t allowed to text someone who is in power and give them your encouragement and opinions. HOW CAN THE REPUBLIC WITHSTAND THE REVELATIONS OF A WOMAN WHO BELIEVES THE DEMOCRATS STOLE THE 2020 ELECTION just like half the country does?

Spare me the meltdowns that AOC and other irresponsible and far-left lunatics are having as they call for Justice Thomas to resign or recuse himself based on these shocking—SHOCKING, I SAY—text messages that call for the president’s chief of staff to help the president “stand firm.”

I’m verklempt.

The Democrats have done more to wreck our system of government than any other group or party in the entire history of our country. If it was up to me, I’d outlaw them as a party, make it illegal to propose or support socialism as a member of the Senate or the House, and airlift those who don’t comply to Venezuela, where they will find the ideology more fitting.

Daily Verse | 2 Samuel 3:36
All the people took note and were pleased; indeed, everything the king did pleased them.

Monday’s Reading: 2 Samuel 5-7

Monday and here’s a few tidbits to be aware of.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-Not Conservative) will vote to confirm Non-Biologist and Radical Jurist Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court.

“Just as I have with previous Supreme Court nominees, I met with Judge Jackson and evaluated her qualifications to be a Supreme Court Justice. After meeting with her, considering her record, and closely monitoring her testimony and questioning before the Senate Judiciary Committee this week, I have determined I intend to vote for her nomination to serve on the Supreme Court.”

When Manchin opposed the Build Better Bolsheviks plan under Brandon, there was talk of him joining the Republican Party. But someone who would vote for a woman who can’t say what a woman is to the highest court in the land after “closely monitoring her testimony and questioning” should remain a pariah in his own party while we occasionally welcome his help.

The enemy of my enemy isn’t necessarily my friend.

It’s unfortunate that SCOTUS is being radicalized with picks like KBJ, because in the not-too-distant-future there are going to be court challenges to things like this: The coming federal weaponization of banking.

A digital version of the dollar has been in the works for over a year now. Earlier this month, [so-called president] Biden signed an executive order both curtailing existing cryptocurrencies and laying the groundwork for a federal digital currency. Crypto regulations have been a favorite topic of Democrats on Capitol Hill and regulators in the federal bureaucracy. Biden deployed numerous excuses, including the risks of money laundering and the carbon emissions needed to produce crypto, to justify cracking down on these currencies. But the kicker of the statement is the regulatory groundwork for the coming “digital dollar.” The United States will be the second major power to foster such a move, after China, where efforts to create a digital currency as part of its social credit system are a sign of what might be coming here soon.

Physical currency likely will be phased out entirely over time, in favor of a digital format controlled by the Federal Reserve. The ubiquity of cell phones and scannable codes will make integration of a digital currency, under some form of the blockchain, relatively easy to implement. This soft-nationalization of the banking sector would leave the United States in uncharted waters. Nearly every transaction, from political donations to purchases as seemingly insignificant as a pack of gum, would be visible to the government and subject to scrutiny. Government regulations could block or track certain transactions with no trial or public recourse. Even worse, if you were placed on a list by a federal bureaucrat — not a judge — your access to banking and credit cards potentially could be shut off without a warrant or trial.

Buy what you need now—like a generator for when the electrical grid eventually breaks—before your purchasing freedom is verboten by non-descript womyn like KBJ.

Of course, the other thing you should buy is seeds for things like lettuce, tomatoes, onions, corn, cucumbers, carrots, celery, strawberries, blueberries and other fruits and vegetables. That’s so when Brandon’s disastrous economic policies and international political failures finally catch up with food prices here in the U.S., you can blunt the impact on your personal grocery bill.

[So-called president] Biden on Thursday warned of global food shortages as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine — predicting that the war would upend global wheat supplies.

Russia and Ukraine jointly supply about a fourth of the world’s wheat exports.

“With regard to food shortages, yes we did talk about food shortages. And it’s going to be real,” Biden said at a press conference in Belgium after attending meetings of NATO and G7 leaders.

“The price of these sanctions is not just imposed upon Russia, it’s imposed upon an awful lot of countries as well, including European countries and our country,” Biden said.

When your sanctions on another country badly hurt your country, you’re doing it wrong.

Brandon says we don’t expect food shortages in the U.S., but neither did we expect the never-ending surge in gas prices, the supply chain bottle-neck, the empty store shelves, the scarcity of used and new cars, the failure in Afghanistan, the worst inflation in 40 years, the Chinese Bat Flu, or the severe lockdowns imposed on us by our betters in Washington, D.C. and across the nation.

I don’t trust a single thing these people say and even less what they do.

From the “Department of Pure Speculation But Not Really”: imagine a scenario in which Hunter Biden is indicted on federal charges of influence peddling, but then, because his daddy is the Resident, he is PARDONED.

Friday, FNC host Jesse Watters told his viewers he heard Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, would be indicted.

In addition to that, Watters speculated the President would pardon his son and announce he was not seeking reelection in 2024.

If Trump tried that he’d be impeached. Of course, Trump would never have to try that because he’s not a life-long grifter who hasn’t worked a day in his life like career criminal politician “the Big Guy.”

Daily Broadside | Leftists Are Going Full Nazi and You Should Pay Attention

Daily Verse | Genesis 50:19
“Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

Thursday’s Reading: Exodus 1-6

Just before publishing I learned that Joe Manchin III (W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (Ariz.), joined all 50 Republicans in voting down the federal voting rights legislation in the Senate. So not everything is awful. But most of it is.

Thursday and if you’ve been keeping up with the Bible reading plan, we’re done with Genesis—and it’s not even the end of January! Hopefully you’re finding new things you hadn’t known before as you read through the scripture. If you’d like to join us on the journey this year, you can download the plan here:

I hope you’re reading it because you need to be sure of Who is unchanging and True in an age of deceit, betrayal and threats to the safety and freedom we’ve taken for granted in the greatest country ever founded. If you’re not sure in whom your ultimate confidence rests, let me jolt you into thinking it through.

Almost half of Democratic voters—48 percent—think the government should be able to fine or imprison individuals “who publicly question the efficacy of the existing COVID-19 vaccines on social media, television, radio, or in online or digital publications.”

This is not the most astonishing finding of a poll just released by Rasmussen. Let’s go through the relevant points: Nearly the same percentage of Democratic voters—47 percent—think the government should be able to put a tracking system, like an ankle monitor or a locked collar, on people who refuse the vaccine. And 45 percent favor putting the unvaccinated in camps. Camps.

More than half of Democratic voters—55 percent—think people who refuse the vaccine should be fined. Fifty-nine percent favor confining all unvaccinated people to their homes. More than a quarter of Democratic voters—29 percent—think that the government should be able to confiscate the children of unvaccinated parents . . .

Is any of this Nazi enough for you yet? You are living next door to the people who would have turned you over to the Comité de salut public for opposing the “Law of Suspects”—the law that authorized the arrest of all suspected enemies of the Revolution and ushered in the Reign of Terror. You are living next door to the people who would have turned you over to the NKVD for “moral sabotage of the Soviet Union.” You are living next door to the people who would have called up the Gestapo and said, “My neighbor is hiding a Jew.”

Examine these historical personages from Revolutionary France or Soviet Russia or Nazi Germany (or Nazi France): It’s not just that they were following orders. On the contrary, they thought they were doing a positive good for society. They were eager to help rid their community of dangerous elements. They were proud of what they did.

Some of your Democratic neighbors will likewise be proud to lock you up, put a tracking collar on your neck, take away your children—all for the public good. These are people who would murder you for the public good.

This is the poisonous rot that has leeched into our culture over the last few decades. And, lest you think that the government is just rattling their sabers without intent to use them, The US Army is set to conduct a “guerrilla warfare exercise” later this month in North Carolina where troops will battle against “freedom fighters.”

The two week “unconventional warfare exercise” will take from Jan. 22-Feb. 4 on privately owned land in a remote location which remains unknown.

“Called Robin Sage, the exercise serves as a final test for Special Forces Qualification Course training and it places candidates in a politically unstable country known as Pineland,” reports the Charlotte Observer.

“These military members act as realistic opposing forces and guerrilla freedom fighters, also known as Pineland resistance movement,” said the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center.

Maybe they’re just practicing for when they help Ukraine defend itself against Russia?

As Chris Menahan notes, a similar Robin Sage exercise in 2019 showed resistance fighters displaying a flag that says “liberty.”

“They could tell these soldiers they’re battling the Chinese, Russians, Iranians, North Koreans or other foreign enemies but instead they have them training to kill “freedom fighters” with “Liberty” flags,” writes Menahan.

The exercise will do little to dampen concerns that the Biden administration is launching a de facto ‘domestic war on terror’ targeting patriots and Trump supporters.

Oh.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t think of any good reason for our troops to be war-gaming a battle against us. I mean, besides BLM and Antifa, but they don’t wave the “Liberty” flag. On the other hand, Paul Eaton, a retired U.S. general and a senior advisor to the far-Left VoteVets, has reasons:

Eaton told NPR that military leaders needed to “war-game the possibility of a problem and what we are going to do” while warning that the United States is “compromised… as far as 39% of the Republican Party refusing to accept President Biden as president.” He suggested that a scenario in which the military is “compromised” needs to be “addressed in a future war game held well in advance of 2024.”

Remember when we held war games to fight our enemies rather than to purge our own people?

Eaton, a Hillary Clinton adviser, isn’t however worried about the 33% of Clinton supporters who claimed that Trump was not the legitimate winner right after the election, or the 56% of Democrats who viewed him as illegitimate a year later. Polls actually show that much higher numbers thought that Bush and Trump were illegitimately elected than the number that thought Obama and Biden were illegitimately elected. Should the military be purging Dems or holding “war games” to determine what will happen if Democrats try to live out their coup fantasies?

Hey, how come it’s only conservatives and Republicans that need to be purged?

Notice, too, that Eaton isn’t addressing an uprising with rioting and burning and looting and murder. He’s talking about 39% of Republicans who merely don’t believe Biden was legitimately elected. But that kind of thinking is now a threat that apparently needs to be addressed.

Are you awake? Don’t make the mistake of smugly dismissing all of this because “it can’t happen here.” It is happening here, right before our eyes.

Listen to Brandon and our current or “retired” military leaders when they talk about “domestic terrorists.” Pay attention when your military prepares to battle “freedom fighters.” We need to take them seriously because they’re telegraphing their intent. And you and I are the targets.

Daily Broadside | Joe Manchin is the thin blue line

Daily Verse | James 1:13-14
When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.

Tuesday’s Reading: 1 Peter 1-5

Tuesday and Joe Manchin continues to suffer the indignity of having his patriotism, honesty and morality smeared. To hear progressives tell it, the “other” Joe has torpedoed democracy, reneged on his promised support for the Build Better Bolshevism bill and has betrayed the poor and the children to a lifetime of hardship.

Fortunately, he’s got a spine.

“I knew where they were, and I knew what they could and could not do. They just never realized it, because they figured surely to God we can move one person, surely we can badger and beat one person up, surely we can get enough protesters to make that person uncomfortable enough,” he said. “Well, guess what? I’m from West Virginia. I’m not from where they’re from and they can just beat the living crap out of people and think they’ll be submissive, period.”

If it wasn’t for Joe Manchin, we’d be looking at an economic wrecking ball across our country. I kinda feel like this:

Some Democrats, including Kirsten Powers, think Manchin should just become a Republican. But Manchin thinks otherwise.

He criticized Democrats for approaching legislation “as if you have 55 or 60 senators that are Democrats and you can do whatever you want.”

“I think I still represent the centrist wing of a Democratic Party that has compassion but also has reasonability,” he said.

[…]

And as for whether he thinks there’s still a place for him in the Democratic Party, he said: “I would like to hope there are still Democrats who think like I do. I’m fiscally responsible and socially compassionate. Now, if there are no Democrats like that, then they’ll have to push me where they want me.”

I hate to break it to you, Joe, but your hope that there’s still some Dems who think like you do is a pipe dream. Like I said yesterday, besides Kyrsten Sinema and Tulsi Gabbard, that “wing” of the Democrat party is nearly invisible. I mean, every single Democrat is onboard with the BBB — except Manchin. Where are those “centrists” he’s referring to?

Not in the Senate.

I thank God for Joe Manchin. It is one more display of His grace and compassion that He provided a way out from underneath the tyrannical aspirations of the Democrat party, and He did it with a Democrat.

Daily Broadside | Manchin Sinks Biden’s Build Back Better Bill

Daily Verse | Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Monday’s Reading: James 1-5

Happy Monday and finally — FINALLY — a moment of sanity from a Democrat. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) told Fox News Sunday that he would vote “no” on Biden’s Build Back Better (BBB) monstrosity of a spending bill. Assuming he’s telling the truth and not trying to strong-arm other concessions by threatening to vote no, that effectively kills BBB.

This of course sent liberals into hyperventilation mode about the end of democracy as though “democracy” is somehow dependent on trillions of untamed spending to stay alive.

Also, we’re a constitutional republic, not a democracy.

Responses were vicious.

A couple of Manchin’s colleagues took turns ripping him on CNN’s “State of the Union.” Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., started by accusing Manchin of lacking the courage to stand up to pharmaceutical companies, and an outraged Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., said the West Virginia senator was obstructing the president’s agenda.

Well, yes, Rep. Pressley, he is. He’s allowed to do that. Note that not all Republicans vote in lockstep, either. They had a chance to repeal Obamacare when Paul Ryan (*spit*) was speaker of the House with a Republican majority in both the House and the Senate and a Republican president — and they couldn’t get it done.

It’s insanity, the stuff the Democrats want to spend money on — money we don’t have, by the way.

Either way, even if something reemerges from the rubble, it is not going to be anything along the lines of the “transformational” type of legislation liberals envisioned earlier in the year. The idea was to augment the role of government in every aspect of individuals’ lives — with subsidized child care, a government takeover of preschool, more financing for college, a more generous Obamacare, and an expanded Medicare. Not to mention hundreds of billions of dollars in investments toward the Green New Deal. That magnitude of legislation is no longer in the cards, even if Manchin warms up to passing something.

Manchin’s a Democrat, but he’s a reasonable Democrat, probably the last of the species. (Well, there’s Kyrsten Sinema and Tulsi Gabbard. It’s a dying breed.) He has considered the enormous costs of the bill and can’t justify voting for it.

“I’ve always said this, Bret: if I can’t go home and explain to the people of West Virginia, I can’t vote for it,” Manchin told guest host Bret Baier. “And I cannot vote to continue with this piece of legislation. I just can’t. I’ve tried everything humanly possible. I can’t get there.”

He also cited other factors that helped him with his decision.

The senator said that the rise in inflation, the national debt and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic helped him come to his decision on the massive social spending bill.

Me? I’m so relieved that I’m thinking of writing a thank you note to Manchin. He just sank an incredibly irresponsible bill that would add a massive amount of debt to an already massive amount of debt.

America owes him a debt of gratitude.

Daily Broadside | Even Liberals Occasionally Get It Right

Daily Verse | Job 37:23
“The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in his justice and great righteousness he does not oppress.”

It’s Tuesday and the honeymoon with June is over.

Every now and then I get surprised by someone in the ruling class who goes against stereotype. As a for instance: Bill Maher, who seems to regularly hew left-of-center, defending Israel’s right to defend itself from Hamas rockets. That’s not the official narrative of the progressive or liberal Left. The official narrative is that Israel commits war crimes and is an apartheid state. Bill Maher says, “One of the frustrations I had […] is that I was watching this war go on in Israel … and it was frustrating to me because there was no one on liberal media to defend Israel, really.”

But I’m pleasantly surprised by two that I read yesterday. First, Associate Justice Elena Kagan, an Obama appointee, wrote the unanimous Supreme Court opinion that “rejected an illegal immigrant’s attempt to twist immigration law and create a loophole that would allow thousands of illegal immigrants to become lawful permanent residents.” More to the point, I was surprised that the decision was 9-0 with even Associate Justice Sonia “Wise Latina” Sotomayor agreeing. Here was the question before the court:

“Petitioner Jose Santos Sanchez entered this country unlawfully from El Salvador. Years later, because of unsafe living conditions in that country, the Government granted him Temporary Protected Status (TPS), entitling him to stay and work in the United States for as long as those conditions persist,” Associate Justice Elena Kagan, an Obama appointee, wrote in the opinion. “Sanchez now wishes to become a lawful permanent resident (LPR) of the United States. The question here is whether the conferral of TPS enables him to obtain LPR status despite his unlawful entry. We hold that it does not.”

In Sanchez v. Mayorkas, Kagan noted that U.S. immigration law, “applied according to its plain terms,” “prevents Sanchez from becoming an LPR. There is no dispute that Sanchez ‘entered the United States in the late 1990s unlawfully, without inspection.’”

This is very good news because the entire court agreed to apply the law “according to its plain terms.” How refreshing.

The other example I read about has to do with the Democrats trying to nuke the filibuster so that they can pass their radical agenda, such as the so-called “For the People Act.” Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) have both publicly stated that they will not vote to do away with the filibuster, and Manchin has said he will vote “No” on the FTPA.

Democrats in Congress have proposed a sweeping election reform bill called the For the People Act. This more than 800-page bill has garnered zero Republican support. Why? Are the very Republican senators who voted to impeach Trump because of actions that led to an attack on our democracy unwilling to support actions to strengthen our democracy? Are these same senators, whom many in my party applauded for their courage, now threats to the very democracy we seek to protect?

The truth, I would argue, is that voting and election reform that is done in a partisan manner will all but ensure partisan divisions continue to deepen.

With that in mind, some Democrats have again proposed eliminating the Senate filibuster rule in order to pass the For the People Act with only Democratic support. They’ve attempted to demonize the filibuster and conveniently ignore how it has been critical to protecting the rights of Democrats in the past.

***

Yes, this process can be frustrating and slow. It will force compromises that are not always ideal. But consider the alternative. Do we really want to live in an America where one party can dictate and demand everything and anything it wants, whenever it wants? I have always said, “If I can’t go home and explain it, I can’t vote for it.” And I cannot explain strictly partisan election reform or blowing up the Senate rules to expedite one party’s agenda.

These are pragmatic Senators, both from “Red” states. Both want to keep being elected, and they know they represent more conservative constituencies that they have to listen to.

I don’t care why they plan to vote the way they have pledged to vote. I only care that they make it impossible for the Democrats to implement their terrible plans for the United States. The Senate is evenly divided, and these are two Democrats who are bucking the momentum. They are like the little Dutch boy who stuck his finger in a leaking dike to save his country.

Yes, Manchin and Sinema are still Democrats. But even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
