Daily Broadside | Congress Gives Itself 21 Percent More Money During Worst Inflation in 40 Years

Daily Verse | Ruth 3:9b
“I am your servant Ruth,” she said. “Spread the corner of your garment over me, since you are a kinsman-redeemer.”

Thursday’s Reading: 1 Samuel 1-3

Thursday and I’m back from burying my mother-in-law and seeing my own mother for a couple of days. Don’t take the time you have with them for granted. Average life expectancy in the U.S. is 76 years for men and 81 years for women. If your mom is 80 years old and you see her once or twice a year—you may have only 2 or 3 visits left.

Thanks to those of you who prayed for me and my family while we were gone.

We’re just exiting a pandemic that has wrought untold suffering and destruction on our society by the unscientific imposition of mask and vaccine mandates, the forced erasures of local businesses, and the unprecedented power grabs of our rulers who lord it over us rather than fear us. Our economy, which less than 18 months ago was absolute fire, is in shambles, shredded by Joseph Robinette Biden and his illegitimate junta through anti-American policies such as anti-fracking and anti-Keystone Pipeline, leaving us at the mercy of evil state actors like Russia and Iran and Venezuela. Gas prices, of which I had personal experience over the last 9 days, are stratospheric and show no signs of returning to reasonable levels. This, after we had finally achieved energy independence under Trump’s pro-America policies. There’s a war in Ukraine, creating the greatest flood of refugees since World War II and threatening to tip all of us into World War III.

And what do our betters in Washington, D.C. do in the midst of the greatest inflationary economy in 40 years and the greatest cultural chaos in a generation? They vote themselves a 21 percent raise.

As Americans face an economic crisis, historic inflation and surging gas prices, Congress released a $1.5 trillion omnibus bill on Wednesday allocating $5.9 billion of fiscal 2022 Legislative Branch funding to boosting the allowance and salaries of their staff.

The legislation would grant $774.4 million for the Members Representational Allowance, which funds the House budgets for lawmakers, including staffer salaries and $1.7 billion for House operations.

“This $134.4 million, or 21 percent, boost over the previous fiscal year marks the largest increase in the MRA appropriation since it was authorized in 1996, according to a bill summary by the House Appropriations Committee,” Roll Call reports.

The bill does not technically provide a raise for members of Congress, who earn an annual salary of $174,000. But House staffers, who members use to run errands, and family members of Congressional lawmakers who are often put on payroll, will see a pay increase.

True, the members of congress don’t get a 21% pay raise, but see what they did there? While you and I get our annual 2 percent pay raise (if we’re lucky and have “met expectations”), the thieving people’s representatives take more of your money in order to give it to the lackeys and family members they hire to do the work that we hired them to do so that they have more time to lounge in their tony Washington apartments and homes while dealing themselves sweetheart stock trades to pad their financial portfolios.

The greatest lie in D.C. is the word “revenue” as in “Internal Revenue Service.” Revenue is “the total amount of income generated by the sale of goods or services related to the company’s primary operations.” Do I have to remind you that Washington, D.C.—the government of the United States of America—doesn’t produce anything tangible to “sell” to the American people? Oh, sure, they provide some “shovel-ready” jobs and produce interstate highways, space shuttles, and military weapons. But what they “sell” are promises and ideas that they conveniently outsource to three-letter bureaucracies that have to be funded by taxing those of us who actually provide services that other people want.

The House on Wednesday passed a $1.5 trillion, 2,727-page bill to fund the government this year, and at least the Members don’t have to worry about inflation. They’ve got the government covered.

The DC Leviathan is like Audrey II in The Little Shop of Horrors.

Once people realize they can demand that more money be spent for things they want, but don’t necessarily need, the government steps up and says, “Feed me, Seymour!” The government collects ands spends so much money that it can’t all be accounted for and anyone who’s been around a while knows that a good percentage of it winds up lining the pockets of greedy and immoral men and women (don’t want to be a misogynist).

Can anyone tell me what the government has done for us lately? In what ways have they given you more freedom and let you keep more of the money you earn?

Anyone?

Bueller?

This will only stop when the people stand up and say, “enough!”

Daily Broadside | Bidding Farewell to Those Slipping “This Mortal Coil”

Daily Verse | Joshua 14:7-8
“I brought [Moses] back a report according to my convictions, but my brothers who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt with fear. I, however, followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.”

Hello friends — my wife and I are moving into that era of life when the generation previous to ours is being “shuffled off this mortal coil.” We were intimately involved in two funerals late last year, and we’re now moving on to our third in six months with the death of my mother-in-law.

We grieve the loss of relationship in the here and now but believe that those in Christ will be reunited some day at the glorious throne of God Himself.

There will be no Daily Broadside for the remainder of this week as we travel east.

Thank you for your readership and support. The DB will resume next week once all has settled.

Daily Broadside | Rich Guy Tells the Plebes It’s Patriotic to Pay More for Gas

Daily Verse | Joshua 11:20
For it was the Lord himself who hardened their hearts to wage war against Israel, so that he might destroy them totally, exterminating them without mercy, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Monday’s Reading: Joshua 13-17

Monday and we’re really beginning to feel the voter effect of #NeverTrump and the Democrats, and the insane globalist, racist, cultural Marxist, biology and science-defying, climate-terrified Covidiots who think utopia is just over the horizon if only we get rid of the historically reliable capitalist means that have created the once-greatest nation in the history of the world and replace them with a Tyrant.

They owe us an apology for their short-sighted and media-infected rejection of president-in-exile Donald J. Trump, who had gotten us back on our feet and made us energy-independent until the Fool they put in office cancelled the Keystone Pipeline and banned fracking on federal lands while demanding we all turn ourselves into lab rats for a medically-unnecessary jab for a virus that mainly killed the elderly and the obese while withholding proven treatments that would’ve save a lot of lives.

The allegedly 81 million Americans who voted for Biden in 2020 got played, hard. And they owe the rest of us a big apology, and a promise to never screw our nation over like this again.

Yes, Trump was a jerk. You know what he wasn’t? Dangerously incompetent. Or barely kept motoring with a personalized daily slushie of embalming fluid.

It’s time for the Americans who saddled us with this embarrassment of a president to realize that they did exactly what they self-righteously accepted from mass media they were saving our nation from: voting for a four-year national disaster.

One of my daughters sent me a picture of her latest fill up at a gas station, along with appropriate gratitude to the one who made it possible.

Gas is now over $4/gal. where I live and jumped to over $5/gal. where one of my other daughters live. She is now seriously thinking about moving to a lower-cost state.

Then there’s the self-righteous, no longer relevant George Takei, who’s worth $14M, telling us plebes to take one for the team. I won’t link you to this moron’s account, but the responses have been blistering, and rightly so.

It reminds me of a co-worker who once told me she was willing to pay more taxes to take care of illegal aliens. Government creates problems, frames fixing them as a moral virtue, then takes your money to “fix” the problems.

And if you complain, you’re EVIL.

The problem is … the problems are never fixed. And there are always more problems to be fixed, requiring more of your hard-earned money to fix them.

Meanwhile, our politicians laugh all the way to the bank.

These people are absolutely shameless, yet they claim to be champions of the poor, the minimum wage earners, the less fortunate.

You know who Brandon’s policies are absolutely decimating? Yeah, the poor, the minimum wage earners, the less fortunate.

I’m solidly middle-class, and I’m feeling the pinch. But the very people progressives claim to be fighting for are the very ones who can least afford this administration’s policies.

The Democrats are in for a shellacking this November but unless we take back all three branches of government, nothing will change. We’ve got to wipe the Democrats out—I mean, COMPLETELY OUT—in November, and then put Trump or DeSantis in the Big Chair two years later.

Then we need to go on a total law-making tear that lock in truly patriotic goals, like term limits, teaching authentic American history to our children, a balanced budget law, making socialism illegal, mandating voter ID and in-person voting on election day, completing the wall on our southern border, and outlawing the Democrat party.

I jest on that last one. Or do I?

If you want to see the change, get out there and either run for office yourself (start local) or work on behalf of a trustworthy candidate. Knock on doors and donate what you can.

It’s the only way back.

Daily Broadside | A Brief Reflection on the Amazing Name of Joshua

Daily Verse | Joshua 2:9
“I know that the Lord has given this land to you and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you.”

Friday’s Reading: Joshua 6-8
Saturday’s Reading: Joshua 9-12

Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend. If you’re following the Bible reading plan, we’re now in the book of Joshua—which is an amazing name.

Why? Glad you asked.

Joshua was the successor of Moses, the man brought up in Pharaoh’s household and the leader who brought the people of Israel out of slavery in Egypt. Joshua is described as Moses’ “young aide” (Exodus 33:11) and one “who had been Moses’ aide since youth” (Numbers 11:28).

Joshua was commissioned by God Himself to lead the Israelites just before the LORD took them into the land of Canaan (Deut. 31:23):

The Lord gave this command to Joshua son of Nun: “Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the Israelites into the land I promised them on oath, and I myself will be with you.”

Here are some facts about the name “Joshua” that give us a more robust (and inspiring!) understanding of how the Old Testament (the Jewish Tanakh) points to Jesus.

In Hebrew, Joshua is spelled יְהוֹשֻׁעַ (Yehoshu’a) (and always reading right to left in Hebrew). It means, “Yahweh is salvation,” from the roots יְהוֹ (yeho) referring to the Hebrew God and יָשַׁע (yasha’) meaning “to save.”

Included in the name Joshua is a shortened form of the Tetragrammaton, i.e. the name of the Lord: YHWH (יהו). YHWH is unpronounceable,

“… and wherever the text called for YHWH, a reader would pronounce the Hebrew word for lord, namely Adonai. In the Middle Ages, the Masoretes began to fear that the traditional pronunciation of the written text might become lost and inserted symbols to help preserve it. That caused the pronunciation of the word Adonai to be linked to the spelling of YHWH, which in turn resulted in the impossible hybrid “name” Jehovah.

Other Jewish traditions handled the vocalization of YHWH by inserting the word Hashem, which is the word for “name” … plus the definite article: The Name.

The name Joshua, then, is associated with God and with salvation.

Second, Joshua is the original Hebrew form of the Greek name Jesus, which comes from a Greek translation of the Aramaic short form יֵשׁוּעַ (Yeshu’a). As The New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology (ed. Colin Brown) puts it,

Iēsous is the Gk. form of the OT Jewish name Yēšua‘, arrived at by transcribing the Heb. and adding an -s to the nom. to facilitate declension. šua‘ (Joshua) seems to have come into general use about the time of the Babylonian exile in place of the older Yᵉhôšûa‘. The LXX rendered both the ancient and more recent forms of the name uniformly as Iēsous … It is the oldest name containing the divine name Yahweh, and means “Yahweh is help” or “Yahweh is salvation” (cf. the vb. yiisa’, help, save).

The name Joshua, then, is also associated with Jesus.

Finally, the name Joshua is the exact reverse of the name Isaiah (ישעיה).

The name Isaiah(u) consists of two parts: The final part is יה or יהו, both abbreviated forms of יהוה; YHWH or Yahweh. The first part of the name Isaiah comes from the verb ישע (yasha’), meaning to be saved or delivered … The verb ישע (yasha’) means to be unrestricted and thus to be free and thus to be saved (from restriction, from oppression and thus from ultimate demise). A doer of this verb is a savior.

Where have we heard that before?

The name Joshua, then, is also associated with Isaiah and thereby reinforced in its meaning of “Yahweh is salvation.”

One more interesting and related fact. The name Moses is the Latin version of the Greek name Μωσης (Moses), which in turn is a transliteration of the Hebrew name משה (Moshe). If you spell the name of Moses backward in Hebrew (השם), it spells the word Hashem, which is Jewish for The Name.

Remember that from above?

Mind, blown.

Let’s put it all together. Moses, whose name is associated with “The Name” leads the Israelites out of Egyptian bondage into the Promised Land with the help of his young aide, Joshua, whose name means “Yahweh is salvation” and is associated with Jesus.

What you’re reading in the account of the exodus from Egypt and the conquest of the land “flowing with milk and honey” (Exodus 3:8) is a type which, in scripture, is a person or thing in the Old Testament that foreshadows a person or thing in the New Testament.

An Old Testament type’s details don’t all necessarily have a one-to-one correlation in the New Testament, but the broad parallels in the account of Moses, Joshua and the Israelites with Jesus Christ and his work are pretty hard to miss.

Exciting!

Have a good weekend.

Daily Broadside | No One But Dems Think Brandon’s SOTU Speech Was Honest

Daily Verse | Deuteronomy 32:47
They are not just idle words for you—they are your life.

Thursday’s Reading: Joshua 1-5

Thursday and Resident Brandon’s State of the Union speech is being panned all over the internet. I’ve written before that Democrats lie all the time. I used to do a “Democrats Lie Daily” post on Facebook and was never at a loss for content. They lie, they obfuscate, they redirect, they avoid, they ignore. And Brandon did that in spades on Tuesday night, well beyond what I wrote about yesterday.

From Issues & Insights: Joe Can’t Change the Subject, So His SOTU Leaves Us Wishing to Change the President.

And it’s another time-honored tradition, this of crisis communications, that when you can’t change the facts, you change the subject.

There’s one problem: the facts of Slumpy Joe’s failures loom so large that even larding 11 minutes of characteristically stumbling (Putin will “never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people”) dime-store Churchill at his oration’s opening could only delay the moment of reckoning.

From The Federalist: 17 Absurd Lies Biden Told During His State Of The Union Speech. Here’s a couple of them.

Biden told Americans, “I will be honest with you, as I’ve always promised,” but The Federalist’s regularly updated lie tracker proves that claim is far from the truth.

[…]

Biden touted the rising U.S. job record as one of the highlights of his first year in office but failed to mention that the only reason the job rate is growing is that millions of people are returning to work after tyrannical bureaucrats shut down the economy for months in the name of stopping the spread of a virus.

[…]

Biden claimed that the solution to inflation is for businesses to “lower your costs, not your wages,” but anyone with a brain knows that in order to stay open, companies must raise their prices to pay for increasingly expensive goods. If businesses are forced to raise their wages, they will also raise prices for consumers who have to bear the burden or suffer the consequences of understaffing.

From The Patriot Post: SOTU 2022: Fact-Checking Biden’s Big Obfuscations and Lies.

Upon entering the room, Biden handed Speaker Nancy Pelosi the official copy of his remarks. She did not tear up the pages, one by one, as she did Donald Trump’s last SOTU remarks in 2020, when the state of our union was great. However, tearing up Biden’s speech would have been the best thing she could have done for her party’s midterm prospects. (BTW, our criminal complaint against Pelosi for tearing up that official document is still pending.)

From Based Politics: 3 Big Falsehoods in President Biden’s State of the Union Address. Here’s one:

During the State of the Union address, President Biden repeated his false claims that his agenda only involves increasing taxes on the rich.

“Under my plan, nobody earning less than $400,000 a year will pay an additional penny in new taxes,” he said. “Nobody.”

This is completely false. Since taking office, Biden has put forward multiple tax proposals that would increase taxes on Americans earning less than $400,000.

These include a new tax on nicotine products which would hurt poorer Americans hardest, increased corporate taxes which workers would bear through lower wages, and more. Even liberal-leaning think tanks and analysts have acknowledged that Biden’s pledge simply isn’t true—and parroting it yet again at the State of the Union doesn’t change this.

From The National Interest: Biden Didn’t Mention Social Security During the State of the Union.

Another indication that the federal government isn’t prioritizing the health of Social Security? It was not mentioned in President Biden’s State of the Union address Tuesday night.

[…]

The president did announce plans in December to improve Social Security’s online services, and while Biden touted various achievements of his administration’s first year, that was not among the ones mentioned.

And one more from The Daily Wire: ‘F***ing Pandering 101, Full Of S***’: Border Patrol Agents React To Biden’s State Of The Union Immigration Claims. (Hey, I report, you decide.)

Former acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf tweeted, “That mention of border and immigration security was lip service. Nothing more. No vision, no strategy. Just a wish list and another hollow push for immigration reform legislation. I think the President may have forgotten he has authority to fix the crisis NOW.”

As I wrote yesterday, the speech was focus-group tested and polled to get it just right. As Samuel Goldman put it:

The purpose of the speech was to bring independents who lean Democrat to their side in November. Centrist talk about bringing manufacturing home and cutting taxes and “fixing” the border are meant to alleviate the anxieties of the leaners or those who are ready to leave the Democrat party after getting red-pilled.

But we’ve seen enough to know what we’ve got. His speech will change nothing.

Daily Broadside | Biden Channels “America First” As His Numbers Tank

Daily Verse | Deuteronomy 28:47-48
Because you did not serve the Lord your God joyfully and gladly in the time of prosperity, therefore in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and dire poverty, you will serve the enemies the Lord sends against you. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until he has destroyed you.

Wednesday’s Reading: Deuteronomy 31-34

Wednesday and it’s the morning after.

After what, you ask? After the terrible kabuki theater that was passed as a State of the Union speech last night by Brandon.

True, all SOTU speeches tend to be similar and have shriveled to simple laundry lists of topics du jour that have polled well (or not) among Americans. But listening to the Fool deliver an address that insults my intelligence adds insult to injury.

I can’t possibly cover everything in his speech, but let’s start with the most overt lie that he told all night when he said, “And unlike the $2 Trillion tax cut passed in the previous administration that benefitted the top 1% of Americans, the American Rescue Plan helped working people—and left no one behind.”

That trope, that Trump’s tax cut only benefitted the top one percent of Americans, has been disproved by countless outlets, including the Washington Post, which gave it four Pinocchio’s. Brandon has been pushing this lie for the last three years.

The fact that the Resident led with that lie when talking about the economy undermined any credibility he might have had for the rest of the speech. Why believe anything he’s saying? He’s willing to lie on national television to one of the largest audiences there is.

Brandon started the night by bragging about how the U.S. has worked with 30 other nations to “release 60 million barrels of oil from reserves around the world,” including 30 million from our own Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

That sounds like a lot, but the United States burns 20.5 million barrels of oil EVERY DAY. 60 million barrels is a whole three days worth of oil.

Joe failed to tell us how that 60 million barrels will “blunt gas prices here at home.” Here’s how it’s going on the world markets, which will eventually show up at the gas pump:

On Wednesday morning, global benchmark Brent crude blew past $110 per barrel, rising more than 5.8% to $111.09, its highest since early July 2014.

That 60 million barrels really impressed the market!

Hey, how about getting the Keystone Pipeline up and running? How about getting us off dependence on foreign oil like Trump made us? How about supporting fracking and drilling again instead of catering to the tiny minority of ecoterrorists that somehow punch above their weight?

A lot of his speech seemed very Trumpian and “America First,” which is a strange pivot for Democrats who spent four years demonizing Trump and his “nationalistic” policies. Brandon told us that we should bring manufacturing back home, and highlighted chip maker Intel, whose CEO was at the SOTU. Intel is going to build a $20 billion semiconductor “mega site” in Ohio.

I can applaud that. Should’ve been done years ago but it’s only because of “increasing automation in chip factories and potential government funding [that] Intel is able to reshore some of this manufacturing and still be cost-effective.”

Brandon also broke with his own party by addressing crime with, “The answer is not to Defund the police. The answer is to FUND the police with the resources and training they need to protect our communities.” He has the audacity to pretend that #DefundThePolice wasn’t a Democrat thing.

Why the sudden change, Brandon? Could it be that Americans are sick and tired of the Democrat double-standard and are ticked that the Dems have made America less safe with their radical ideology?

The topic that aggravated me the most, though, was when Brandon brought up immigration.

And if we are to advance liberty and justice, we need to secure the Border and fix the immigration system.

We can do both. At our border, we’ve installed new technology like cutting-edge scanners to better detect drug smuggling.

We’ve set up joint patrols with Mexico and Guatemala to catch more human traffickers.

We’re putting in place dedicated immigration judges so families fleeing persecution and violence can have their cases heard faster.

We’re securing commitments and supporting partners in South and Central America to host more refugees and secure their own borders.

We can do all this while keeping lit the torch of liberty that has led generations of immigrants to this land—my forefathers and so many of yours.

My gut twists when I hear that empty rhetoric, the dead cliches, the completely insincere suggestion that he wants to “secure our border.” If he wanted to secure our border, he would’ve finished the wall that Trump started. He wouldn’t demonize our border patrol agents as mercilessly “whipping” border jumpers from their horses. He’d threaten the hordes that make their way up through Mexico. He’d stop flying them around the country and dumping them on unsuspecting communities in the middle of the night.

We’ve had nearly 2 million people illegally cross our border since Brandon took office, the most in 35 years. That’s enough people to be the fifth largest city in America, replacing Phoenix, AZ (Population: 1,743,469).

What’s really galling about all of this is that every problem Brandon brought up was created by Democrat politicians. The impact of Covid on developmental delays in children who were kept out of school and wearing masks; closed businesses; the war on cops and the spike in crime; the foreign invasion on our southern border—you name it, the Democrats created it.

Every. Single. One.

And now they come to us and tell us they are going to fix it with their solutions that will cost the rest of us more money.

It’s an outrageous scam.

I’m tired of being scammed. Aren’t you?

Plus, note that Brandon didn’t mention the January 6 protestors who remain locked up. I thought that was a slam dunk for them. Also, I didn’t hear anything about ending our involvement in Afghanistan. Wasn’t that a triumph of Brandon’s spectacular leadership?

Huh, how ’bout that. Nary a peep.

Finally, to top it all off, Brandon fairly yelled during the closing lines of his monologue, as though he were trying to inspire a football team at half time. Maybe he thought that’s what he was doing, because he ended his entire speech with “Go get ’em!”

Go get ’em?

Conclusion: nothing will change as a result of his speech.

Daily Broadside | Brandon is a Cockwomble and We Need Rescuing

Daily Verse | Deuteronomy 22:5
A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this.

Tuesday’s Reading: Deuteronomy 27-30

Tuesday and the first of March. In like a lion, out like a lamb?

I wish I had seen this before yesterday’s Broadside:

I know that’s Justin Brandeau pictured, but it applies oh, so very aptly to Joe Brandon. I still think “fool” is the most appropriate moniker for Biden, but “cockwomble” is now running a very close second.

While that’s funny, what’s even more hilarious is our Fool’s disapproval ratings.

Economic discontent is hurting [Resident] Joe Biden and his party’s midterm election prospects, with six in 10 Americans reporting inflation hardships, three-quarters saying the economy’s in bad shape and a nearly 20-point lead for the Republican Party in trust to handle it.

Biden has other problems, with underwater ratings for his handling of the invasion of Ukraine, a split on the pandemic and weak scores on personal attributes including leadership, handling a crisis and mental sharpness.

But 40-year-high inflation leads his headaches: Americans are twice as likely to say they’re worse off than better off under his presidency, by 35-17%.

The result: A career-low 37% of Americans approve of Biden’s job performance overall, with 55% disapproving. That includes just 30% approval among political independents and 10% from Republicans. Even in his own party, nearly a quarter of Democrats either disapprove of Biden (19%) or are withholding judgment (4%).

That’s an 18-point spread.

Let’s. Go. Brandon.

What the H-E-double-hockey-sticks did people think they were getting when #81MILLIONLOL voted for the cockwomble? I mean, at least Putin respects him, amirite?

I still can’t believe it was so close, it was close enough to cheat.

When will people learn that Democrats are little more than a political version of the mob, except that Al Capone dressed better?

Analyzing data going back to Harry Truman’s administration, only two presidents have had approval ratings this low heading into their first State of the Union address, which Biden delivers Tuesday. Those two were Donald Trump, at 36%, and Gerald Ford, at 37%. Disapproval has been higher, by a nonsignificant 3 percentage points, only for Trump. (More were undecided about Ford, then just five months in office.)

These people can’t quit Trump. How about Trump had the entire Washington and media establishments (but I repeat myself) working overtime to undermine his administration with the treasonous Russia! Russia! Russia! collusion hoax airing 24/7 on every channel?

Brandon’s got nothing but the entire Washington and media establishments (is there an echo in here?) blowing wind in his sails and propping him up and HE CAN’T EVEN TREAD WATER. So what’s his excuse?

Here’s Five Thirty Eight’s persistent calculation of all polls as of February 28.

That’s a 13-point spread between approve and disapprove.

Or here’s Real Clear Politics assessment:

A 14-to-19-point spread.

Yeah, Brandon’s in trouble. And his catastrophic performance means we’re all in trouble. But it also means that citizens are ready to throw out the trash. We still have three years of Brandon to go, but we can start this November by kicking out the old party apparatchik political hacks on both sides of the aisle (looking at you, Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney) who have destroyed our Constitutional order and have sat on their fat keisters for decades collecting their fat paychecks while they tell us what we can and can’t say, what we can and can’t do, who the winners and the losers are, and taking more of our money and freedom along the way while they attend all the best Washington parties.

It’s okay to be angry and to fight for what matters. While reading through Deuteronomy, I came across this passage:

But if out in the country a man happens to meet a girl pledged to be married and rapes her, only the man who has done this shall die. Do nothing to the girl; she has committed no sin deserving death. This case is like that of someone who attacks and murders his neighbor, for the man found the girl out in the country, and though the betrothed girl screamed, there was no one to rescue her. (DT. 22:25-27)

The scenario implies that if the girl had screamed while people were nearby, she could’ve been rescued. And what do you think a rescue would’ve looked like? Rape is a violent crime that may require a violent intervention fueled by anger over the injustice.

Sometimes righteous heroic action is necessary.

If you love our country and want to see her prosper again, you might think about getting involved. Write checks and volunteer to knock on doors for constitutional-friendly congressional representatives and local elections. Reading blogs doesn’t count, not even this one, which is just a speck of light in a universe of bright stars.

Go. Do something heroic.

The wind is in our favor.
