Daily Verse | 1 Samuel 26:23
The Lord rewards every man for his righteousness and faithfulness.
It’s Friday and you made it through another work week. Congratulations! The parade starts at 6:00 PM.
The sheer scale of political chaos and the destruction of cultural norms and the placement of ideological extremists in positions of power in our country is astonishing. It feels like we’re standing in front of gale force winds from a nor’easter that we saw developing some time ago and said things like, “we should shutter the windows,” and now it’s on us and everywhere we look the storm is tearing off another strip of siding or a shingle from the roof and is rattling the window frames.
Does anyone have any idea how this ends?
Worse, so much of it has been manufactured. Just look over the last four years: the Trump-Russia hoax perpetrated by the FBI and the Clinton campaign; the fraudulent impeachment scams that were based on nothing by hearsay and innuendo; the Chinese Lung Pox with mandatory masking that did nothing to protect anyone but caused near-global lockdowns that shrank the economy, killed small businesses and threw people out of work, fattened the Technocracy’s bottom line, while delivering vaccine propaganda about how getting the shot is so, so important but immunity won’t allow you to drop the mask or the social distancing; cancel culture used on actors, business owners, cartoons, games and beloved children’s books; climate change hysteria that promises but never delivers the end of the world and makes the climate hucksters incredibly rich; the new race wars featuring demonized police, Antifa, Burn Loot and Murder, Inc., CHAZ, the 1619 Project, toppling statues, white privilege, white supremacy, white fragility, and reparations to people who weren’t slaves from people who never owned slaves; gender chaos with boys who think they’re girls competing against biological girls or are confirmed as Assistant Secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services, and girls who think they’re boys on the cover of Time magazine and Drag Queen Story Hour at local libraries; open borders with tens of thousands of Third World citizens walking into our country with diseases and no identification and the same progressive junta that put kids in cages in 2014 doing even worse today; a militarized Washington, D.C. because of unproven claims of right-wing “fascists” who will overthrow the Capitol any moment now because of a totally non-armed “armed insurrection” that killed only a Trump supporter who was unarmed and wasn’t threatening anyone and now we have a near-octogenarian dementia patient installed as Supreme Leader who chose a cackling VP (Value Pick) because she’s a woman and isn’t white. And all of this perpetuated and maintained by the Fake News Media Complex.
In other words, you’re not imagining a total break down of our society. Yes, there are still millions of Normal Americans in our land, but they are not, broadly speaking, in positions of influence and power. Social conservatives are a waning influence in our culture, as are white evangelical Christians.
In 1944, polls showed that White Christians accounted for more than eight-in-10 American adults, notes John C. Green, an expert on religion and politics and dean of the college of arts and sciences at the University of Akron. Surveys found that number declined only slightly, to just under eight-in-10, by 1964. Even in 1984, White Christians still accounted for just under seven-in-10 American adults. The annual merge of results from other national surveys conducted by Pew, though not directly comparable with the huge Religious Landscape poll, suggest that White Christians dipped below majority status sometime between 2012 and 2013. The latest figures placing White Christians at just 46 percent of the adult population confirm a trend, Green says, in which “the relative size of White Christians [has] fallen at an increasing rate over the post-W.W. II period.”
Christians and conservatives are those who have the most to lose in the changing demographics across the U.S. because they’re the ones who primarily carry on the foundational values of the nation. In a critique of a Tucker Carlson segment about immigration in the U.S., Ronald Brownstein wrote,
Carlson said explicitly what is often left implicit: how much of the modern conservative coalition is bound together by resistance to demographic, cultural and even economic change. And he had one big thing right: the nation is growing more diverse and it has added a significant number of new immigrants in recent decades. The Census Bureau recently projected that non-whites, which now comprise just under 40% of the total population, will become the majority by around 2045. The foreign-born share of the population has more than doubled from just over 6% in 1980 to about 13.5% in 2015.
That was from 2018 and, well, yes, it is threatening to native-born Americans who happen to like white American culture and our founding principles. Brownstein and other progressive Leftists see this as a problem, most likely as racism and white supremacy.
Carlson said during the segment in question that the article he keyed off “tells you a lot about demographics in America, and about how bewilderingly fast they’re changing without any real public debate on the subject.” Exactly.
Where has the public debate been about the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants flooding our southern border? There may be upwards of 30 million illegals in our country. Where is the debate about how these people from Third World countries put enormous stress on our economic, educational and health care systems?
We just get yanked back and forth between those who want to control illegal entry to our country (like Trump) and those who basically don’t believe in borders — like the occupying junta in the White House.
In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit.
Judges 21:25
Traditional American culture with its historic norms isn’t “wrong.” It is a unique expression of our founding principles and the freedom we’ve enjoyed for almost 250 years (2026 is just around the corner). We’ve invited others to join us in this grand experiment and have successfully assimilated people from around the world into what was once considered a great “melting pot.”
Today we resemble a tossed salad and we all feel it.
