Daily Broadside | What Does the Fox Say to Conservatives?

It’s Friday! I remember that Friday in German is “Freitag.” That’s seventh-grade German, man! Don’t say I didn’t learn nuthin’.

So what is up with Fox News? It was supposed to be a bastion of conservative thinking, giving us the “fair and balanced” view of what was newsworthy without the spin.

But a few things recently are making me rethink their reliability.

Tag Team Debate

First was Mike Wallace’s absolutely disgraceful performance at the debate. Does anybody really question who he favored that night? Does anyone believe that he was “fair and balanced”? Even current and former colleagues at Fox News dragged him.

“From interrupting Trump but not Biden at nearly every turn, blocking the incumbent before he could correct mischaracterizations and flat-out lies from Biden, to full-throated arguments with the president despite lobbing soft-ball questions — or no questions at all — to the former vice president, Wallace’s presentation was appalling.”

The Name That Shall Not Be Spoken

Second, there was that super weird moment on Outnumbered Overtime with Newt Gingrich on September 16. Newt points out—factually, I might add—that George Soros has funded the election of ultra-progressive prosecutors who now refuse to prosecute certain criminals and their crimes. Instead, they go free.

Listen to what Newt says and the reactions from co-hosts Harris Faulkner, Melissa Francis and Marie Harf :

Whoa. Someone stepped in it. Who’s whispering in Faulkner’s ear? As Gingrich says before an awkward silence, “So it’s verboten.” Makes one wonder if Soros is invested in Fox News.

You Meanies!

Finally, I’ve always thought chief White House correspondent John Roberts was thoughtful and reasonable. But get a load of this dump he took on his viewers Thursday:

I’m wondering why Roberts, Wallace and all the others think this is “a question that needs to be asked”? Maybe we’re all tired of you and the rest of the “media” asking that question, John. Haven’t you heard? Trump has denounced “white supremacy” several times:

What is it with these hacks that they can’t move on? Why do they keep bringing it up? Specifically, why does John Roberts bring it up?

The only personality that I really admire at Fox News anymore is Tucker Carlson. I like Bret Baier and Brit Hume. Was never a big fan of Hannity and Laura Ingraham grates on me.

What’s up, Fox News? Maybe I’ll give One America News Network a try.

Have a great weekend.
