Daily Broadside | Is Joe Biden Now a National Security Risk?

For some reason I like Tuesdays and Thursdays. It may be because they both start with “T.” Or maybe it’s because they’re the even days of the work week. If I figure it out I’ll let you know.

We’re two weeks away from the most important election of my lifetime. It’s a choice between what kind of America we want to be—one that is strong and principled and free, or one that panders to the lowest common denominator in greater servitude to the state.

We’ve now learned that the son of one of the candidates has been profiteering from his political connection to his father. The emails recovered from Hunter Biden’s computer hard drive are a smoking gun that prove he sold access to his father, then-vice president Joe Biden.

The so-called mainstream media and social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter have gone into overdrive to discredit the trove of damning evidence by hiding it or denouncing it as “unverified” or, even more hilariously, the product of a Russian op. Yeah, we’ve heard that hysteria before.

Unlike the fake Russia! Russia! Russia! operation conducted by our own government with fabricated “evidence” against Trump, the Hunter Biden emails—a “trove” of them—are the real deal. “John Ratcliffe, Director of National Intelligence, told Fox Business on Monday morning that Hunter Biden’s laptop was not part of a Russian disinformation campaign despite the media’s attempts to claim otherwise.”

In addition, one of Hunter Biden’s former business partners who is now in prison for fraud, has made 26,000 emails available to Breitbart News, “detailing his business operations with Biden and Devon Archer, another business partner.” Add that the FBI has had the hard drive in their possession for nearly a year, that Hunter Biden’s lawyer tried to retrieve Biden’s computer, that the Biden campaign hasn’t denied the allegations, that Hunter Biden was a member of the board at Burisma, that we’ve got Joe Biden on video bragging about firing the Ukrainian prosecutor, and that Hunter did fly to China with his father, and … who are you going to believe: Joe Biden or your lyin’ eyes?

Now imagine with me that Joe Biden wins the election in two weeks and he takes office on January 20, 2021. Am I worried about him selling access to his new office? I could be, but what I’m more worried about is what the Chinese have on him and his son.

You and I both know that China is one of the most advanced surveillance states in the world. We must assume that they have, at a minimum, the email correspondence from and to Hunter Biden. But what else do they have? Do you think that they’ve left themselves without some kind of an insurance policy at this level of international political intrigue?

Do they have other documents showing what they’ve paid to Hunter? Can they link payments to Hunter that correspond to meetings they’ve held with Joe Biden? How about documents that prove policy decisions toward China were made with payoffs to Biden while the Obama administration was in office?

Now imagine that they leverage whatever they have to blackmail president Joe Biden. Can you say “vassal-state”?

When Trump’s illegally-leaked tax documents became an issue in September, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “This president appears to have over $400 million in debt. To whom? Different countries? What is the leverage they have? So for me, this is a national security question.”

Now do Joe Biden.
