Daily Verse | Joshua 1:8
Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth;
meditate on it day and night, so that you may be
careful to do everything written in it.
Happy Friday, dear Broadsiders. Ballroom dancing begins after the hors d’oeuvres are served.
Nobody wants to be an alarmist and Americans tend to be rather confident of their ability to extricate themselves from sticky situations. But as I’ve written here and here, my internal dashboard is lit up with blinking lights and a siren is going off somewhere nearby.
As I keep reading about the assaults on American culture, tradition and law, it becomes clear there’s a pattern that indicates a method to the madness behind it all. We don’t specifically know who’s driving it, but we don’t need to know—we just need to see that it’s happening, call it what it is, and start taking action to fight it.
For example, what’s with the fencing, razor wire and troops around the Capitol? They were supposedly put there to protect Resident Biden’s inauguration, but they’ve been on extended assignment because “U.S. Capitol Police revealed it has received intelligence reports that indicated ‘a possible plot to breach the Capitol by an identified militia group’ on March 4” because “it was the former inauguration date of the country before the 20th Amendment moved it up to its current date in January.”
But there was no attack yesterday. In fact, there were more news reporters to cover the supposed attack than there were people walking the streets around the Capitol.
But never fear! Our happy hoaxsters are now saying the troops might need to be there through March 20. “According to Fox, there is speculation that March 20 – the day the Republican party came to life in 1834 – and April 15 – federal income tax day – may also pose a threat.”
Lockdowns forever!
John Daniel Davidson at The Federalist explains what he sees happening, and stokes the alarm I feel.
There’s a predictable pattern to what we’re seeing now. It’s predictable because it has happened before in much the same way it’s happening now. During China’s Cultural Revolution in the 1960s and ‘70s, the Chinese Communist Party, at the direction of Mao Zedong, called for the destruction of the “Four Olds”: old customs, old culture, old habits, old ideas. All of these stood in the way of Mao’s socialist ideology, so they had to be destroyed.

The people behind the statue-toppling, the digital book burnings, and the street violence won’t stop until all three of these things—history, ideas, and dissidents—have been destroyed. These are all impediments to their cultural revolution, and they mean to eliminate them.
Americans who want to protect and keep our Constitutional republic need to begin asserting themselves against the cultural Marxists. Wherever the “woke” ideology raises its ugly head, it needs to be confronted, shouted down and expunged from our public life.
We the People is not just a patriotic phrase—it is the foundation of our system of government. There is no way the government should be telling us what to do or not do at the level they currently are. They sure as heck shouldn’t be selectively applying the law, targeting conservatives for prosecution when the Left has been engaged in a violent uprising for the last year. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Jerry Nadler and the rest of the Democrat mob have egregiously overstepped the authority given them by the U.S. Constitution, which was written to circumscribe their power.
When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice;
when the wicked rule, the people groan.
Proverbs 29:2
There are lots of good books analyzing how we got here but it doesn’t matter at this point how we got here. What matters is what we do from this point forward.
Start pulling together neighborhood networks, arm yourself, and prepare for a lot of turbulence ahead.
Have a good weekend.
