Daily Broadside | The Democrats Don’t Deserve Benefit of the Doubt

Morning kids! It’s Tuesday and off we go into the first full week of August 2020! The good news is we’re more than half-way through the year and by the end of Tuesday, November 3—fourteen weeks from now—we should know if the WuFlu will be with us for the next four years or will magically disappear.

Today I reached back into my Facebook archives to retrieve the little gem below. I called it “An Appeal” when I originally wrote it in 2018. I didn’t have to do much to update it because most of what I wrote back then is still accurate today.

By now you know that I utterly detest the Democrat Party, meaning their national leadership and policies, so it won’t surprise you to learn that I will vote for Donald Trump in a few months. In what I write below I’m urging you to join me (and millions of others) in re-electing him. I know I’m being blatantly partisan, but we’re way past the point of that mattering. When you’re given the choice between swallowing castor oil or hemlock, castor oil doesn’t look so bad.

An Appeal

One of the principles I try to live by is “benefit of the doubt.” That means that when something goes sideways, I assume good intentions by all parties involved. But there’s a corollary: the benefit of the doubt lasts only until there is no more doubt.

I’ve said before that there was a time when I thought it was hyperbole for opinion leaders to call Democrats “un-American” or “unhinged” or “compulsive liars.” I dismissed as clickbait the notion that “liberalism is a mental disease.”

I assumed that at the core, we’re all Americans; that while we have different ideas about how to govern, we all want what is best for our country. I gave Democrats benefit of the doubt believing that, with the odd exception, they were well-intentioned even though I opposed their policy positions.

Not anymore.

The more I’ve observed politics, the more convinced I am that the Democrats are a pathological party of radicalized, irrational malcontents bent on destroying our country as originally envisioned by our Founders. If you’ve been paying attention at all you sense, at some level, there’s something seriously wrong with the Democrat Party. It seems like every time I think they’ve bottomed out in their behavior or words, they reach some new level of low.

Not only that, but the election of Donald J. Trump seems to have made them lose their ever-lovin’ minds. President Trump says, both in word and deed, that he’s “America First.” Any leader, of any country, is expected to put the welfare of that country ahead of any other. But Democrats, by their words and deeds, demonstrate just the opposite.

Theirs is the party of contempt for normal Americans, whom they label as hateful, stupid, bigoted, sexist, homophobic, trans-phobic, Islamophobic, xenophobic, racist, misogynistic, deplorable, bitter, religious clingers and the dregs of society.

  • Theirs is the party of the IRS campaign of intimidation.
  • Theirs is the party of voter fraud.
  • Theirs is the party of character assassination.
  • Theirs is the party of verbal intimidation and bullying.
  • Theirs is the party of full-term abortions.
  • Theirs is the party of baby part sales.
  • Theirs is the party of pussie hats.
  • Theirs is the party of ousting God from their platform.
  • Theirs is the party of open borders.
  • Theirs is the party of foreigners over citizens.
  • Theirs is the party of sanctuary city lawlessness.
  • Theirs is the party of arch-socialism.
  • Theirs is the party of identity politics.
  • Theirs is the party of the politics of envy.
  • Theirs is the party of fake minorities.
  • Theirs is the party of fake hate crimes.
  • Theirs is the party of secular humanism.
  • Theirs is the party of climate change.
  • Theirs is the party of carbon footprints.
  • Theirs is the party of grievances.
  • Theirs is the party of Palestine.
  • Theirs is the party of China.
  • Theirs is the party of Iran.
  • Theirs is the party of the Marxist Black Lives MatterTM organization.
  • Theirs is the party of Antifa.
  • Theirs is the party of lawlessness and rioting.
  • Theirs is the party of defunding the police.
  • Theirs is the party of segregation.
  • Theirs is the party of the KKK.
  • Theirs is the party of the Confederacy.
  • Theirs is the party of erasing our historical memory.
  • Theirs is the party of the Southern Poverty Law Center.
  • Theirs is the party of FBI and DOJ weaponization.
  • Theirs is the party of stone-cold silence for veterans.
  • Theirs is the party of the pliable Constitution.
  • Theirs is the party of kneeling for the national anthem.
  • Theirs is the party of extended lockdowns.
  • Theirs is the party of mob protests and closed churches.
  • Theirs is the party of restricting free speech.
  • Theirs is the party of outlawing guns.
  • Theirs is the party of the deep state.
  • Theirs is the party of nationalized health care.
  • Theirs is the party of wealth redistribution.
  • Theirs is the party of friends of Farrakhan.
  • Theirs is the party of stonewalling congressional subpoenas.
  • Theirs is the party of an attempted coup d’état.

I can back up everything on that list with facts, but I’m sure you recognize what I’m referring to or you can find your own. There are hundreds of examples available.

Remember that in November at the voting booth. The time for talk and reason is over. There is no benefit of the doubt for the Democrats because there is no doubt: they are the enemy of American history, common sense and civility. To let them gain full control of the levers of power is a collective death wish for America.
