Daily Broadside | Don’t Be Seduced By CHOP’s Promises of Utopia

It’s Thursday, kids, and the breakaway Socialist Republic of CHOP (formerly known as CHAZ), is providing a glimpse of what the junior commies want for all of the United States. Pay attention to this little lab experiment—it may be entertaining now, but just because it’s localized in the city of Seattle and you live in Dinkenhurst, Iowa, don’t think it can’t happen to you.

The occupiers are being backed by the so-called “government” of Washington State led by Gov. Jay Inslee (and to think this failed American wanted to be president) and Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan (another failed American). And while they initially called themselves an “autonomous zone,” (they’ve since backed off that designation) they’re now benefiting from taxpayer dollars.

On Tuesday, the Department of Transportation began installing concrete barriers “to improve public safety” by replacing the original barricades confiscated by protesters from the police department. Not only did they install the concrete, but they wrapped them in wooden skirts so that they could be “decorated.” Who do you think is paying for their services?

The area they occupy “includes apartments, businesses, and the precinct, with protesters free to gather away from any police.” Since when can a group of malcontents simply take over city property and restrict who can come in? Armed guards have been pictured at the entrance to the occupied zone, and the so-called “warlord” of CHOP is videotaped here handing out AR-15s.

Say, instead of providing these agitators with new walls to deface, how about taking away their guns? Wouldn’t that “improve public safety”?

I’m not sure why anyone would want to visit CHOP anyway. Graffiti covers every surface imaginable, storefronts are hidden by tents with people sleeping in doorways, no one is coming in to patronize businesses, people who live in the area are afraid to go out at night, machete-wielding mental health cases are running loose, and the police aren’t responding to calls for help. But the taxpayer-funded fire department did put out a dumpster fire—a dumpster fire being the perfect metaphor for what’s happening—so there’s that.

If it weren’t so galling, it would be almost (almost) amusing to watch this mini-police state being formed by self-righteous do-gooders who freely lecture others on the evils of imperialism (as they take over land owned by others), shriek that no one is above the law (as they illegally occupy property that is not theirs), demand open borders (but build walls and patrol their entrances to keep out anyone who shouldn’t be in the zone) and rage against police brutality (while using choke holds to subdue people they don’t like who somehow managed to get in).

True to form, they have given us a list of 30 demands (they italicize the word throughout), broken out into four categories. You can read them all here. I think we should treat them like the petty banana republic they are and tell them the United States doesn’t deal with dictators. Especially those with no leverage.

While cruising Facebook last week, I came across this anonymous post on someone else’s timeline:

Seattle:

Fence in the entire compound. Double fence line, 10’ apart, patrolled by SWAT and dogs. No food, medical supplies, message or water in, no messages out. Deploy skeet shooting cops around the perimeter to interdict any supplies thrown or catapulted in, or message thrown out.

Jam all cell & CB radio frequencies. Install freeway construction lights around the perimeter and keep it brightly lit 24×7.

Tell them snipers have been placed strategically, on 4-hr watches, around the compound and that no place within the compound is out of sight or out of range. As WA is a carry state, tell them they can have all the guns they want, but the instant one is aimed outside the compound, the person aiming it will be shot – no warning.

If anyone wants out, all need to come out with that person or persons or no deal. They chose this jointly and will fail jointly. As they are protesting Western Civ, those killed in any exchange, or who choose to die of starvation or exposure will be refused any traditional funeral rites or burial and will be dumped into the ocean to be recycled to Gaia via the local fish and crustacean population.

The running total cost will be announced daily and the participants and/or family members will be billed for all associated costs of the siege. If their families cannot afford it, their personal property, real estate, cars, etc., will be seized and auctioned.

Then let them starve, die of exposure, or surrender.

And while this is going on, ignore the courts. Until it’s all over and the perps are charged with something, it’s none of the business of the judicial branch, it’s all about enforcement.

I’m not for war, but I am for law and order. This is lawlessness and it’s being endorsed by anti-Americans in elected positions of power. In my opinion, this putsch needs to be put down with force.

Perhaps it will simply shrivel up and die a natural death when the CHOPpers get bored because no one is paying attention to them and sleeping on the sidewalk isn’t worth it anymore. I think that’s what most people are hoping will happen.

But maybe it will be more like Little Shop of Horrors and Audrey II, the alien plant which started small, but eventually grew to be enormous and could only be satisfied by human blood. Seymour, the mild-mannered botanist, should’ve destroyed it when he had the upper hand, instead of being seduced by its promises of glory.
