Daily Broadside | If Trump Has a Trump Card, Now is the Time to Play It

Daily Verse | Genesis 43:30
Deeply moved at the sight of his brother, Joseph
hurried out and looked for a place to weep.

Tuesday and the last full day of Trump’s presidency. Or is it?

As I’ve said before, I’d like to see another four years of Trump just as much as the next supporter. But I’m having a hard time seeing a pathway to that result, not to mention that Trump isn’t acting like a guy who is confident that he’s got another four years in the bag. To repeat myself, “Trump didn’t speak like a man with the confidence of a second inauguration. The fight is gone. There will be no cleansing of the temple.”

Moving trucks have been at both the White House and at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. It sure looks like he’s moving on.

I’m the first to admit that I’m an amateur political prognosticator. I have no insiders who talk with me on the condition of anonymity, I have no years of experience in Washington to draw from and, like everybody else, I’m limited to information that is publicly available—so unless it’s a verified fact I’m citing, a lot of what I think is exactly that: what I think.

So my declaration that, “there will be no cleansing of the temple” is my opinion based on what I see. It’s speculation. As such, I freely admit that I could be wrong.

In fact, I hope I’m wrong. And I might be.

It is a fact that right now, in the city of Washington, D.C., there are more than 25,000 National Guard troops.

It is a fact that these National Guard troops are authorized to use lethal force.

It is a fact that the FBI is vetting all 25,000 National Guard troops “after concerns of a possible attack from within the ranks.”

It is a fact that 2,000 National Guardsmen were deputized as federal Marshals on Sunday night, meaning that they can make arrests.

It is a fact that bridges into Washington, D.C. will be closed, and that the city is divided into “Green” and “Red” zones with armed military checkpoints to enter and leave the zones.

It is a fact that “the perimeter of a fence surrounding the Capitol was pushed out to encompass the Supreme Court and the Library of Congress.”

It is a fact that the National Mall, where thousands have traditionally gathered to view the swearing in of a new president, will be closed.

It is a fact that Biden’s inauguration, including his swearing in, will be largely virtual:

Tickets to the swearing-in ceremony are limited; parade viewing stands have been dismantled near the White House to discourage crowds; inaugural balls have been canceled; and health officials are urging people not to travel and attend.

Instead of thousands of people gathering on the National Mall for the festivities, the traditional parade down Pennsylvania Avenue will be replaced by a virtual parade that will be televised, the Presidential Inaugural Committee has announced.

Got that? Nobody is going to be there. Just like at Biden’s rallies.

Question: if Biden’s inauguration will be mostly virtual, and nobody will be there, why the massive military build-up? Why the check points, the closed bridges, the 12-foot fencing, the concrete blockades closing off roads?

William A. Jacobson, Clinical Professor of Law at Cornell Law School writes about the military’s show of force (with my emphasis):

One [possibility] is that this is a deliberate overreaction as a show of force to deter anyone even thinking about causing a problem. In a rational world, given the Capitol Hill riot, that would be an obvious explanation.

But this massive military show of force smacks of protecting against a threat that has not yet been disclosed publicly. They seem to be planning against a military mutiny. That’s how it feels.

Does anyone think that Trump supporters are going to show up en masse at the Biden inauguration?

C’mon, man.

If it’s not Trump supporters, then why the massive build-up?

At the risk of sounding like a tin-foil-hat-wearing fabulist, I heard what I thought was a plausible theory today from Mike Adams at Natural News. The article is here and you can listen to the podcast here.

To summarize Adams, the military build-up is not to protect Harris/Biden against raving Trump supporters, but to protect Washington, D.C. from “the radical Left” who will attack D.C. once Donald J. Trump reveals evidence that the Chinese interfered in our presidential election—thereby annulling the results.

Before you snort derisively at me, I want you to consider a couple of things.

First, according to a bombshell letter written by Director of National Intelligence (DNI) John Ratcliffe and published on Sunday, the DNI “said that some analysts were reluctant to describe China’s actions as election interference because the analysts disagreed with the policies of President Donald Trump” (emphasis mine).

Translation: The CIA was covering for China.

Second, Michael Ellis, a Trump loyalist, was just made the top lawyer at the National Security Agency (NSA). The NSA is like a digital black hole. Nothing escapes its pull. It scoops up everything—every phone call made, every text sent, every post published, every comment posted, every email sent, every website visited, every video and photo uploaded, every search queried, every page published, every link clicked. The NSA has everything. Everything.

As the top lawyer at the NSA, Ellis is now in a position to make sure that whatever classified secrets the Trump White House chooses to make public—get made public.

This has upset Nancy Pelosi who, CNN reports, wrote a letter to acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller demanding that he “immediately cease” fulfilling the order he gave to NSA Director Gen. Paul Nakasone.

“The circumstances and timing – immediately after President (Donald) Trump’s defeat in the election – of the selection of Mr. Ellis, and this eleventh-hour effort to push this placement in the last three days of this Administration are highly suspect,” the letter read.”

Further, the efforts to install him or ‘burrow’ him into a highly sensitive intelligence position 72 hours prior to the beginning of a new administration manifest a disturbing disregard for our national security. Therefore, this placement should not move forward.”

Why would Trump bother forcing this man into position just three days before he leaves office? If we follow Occam’s Razor, the only thing that seems to make sense is that Trump needs Ellis in place to guarantee that any documents he declassifies are actually made public.

So, here’s the game being proposed: Trump is going public with documents that prove China was behind the stolen election and that U.S. government officials, including Biden, will be found complicit. Trump will then invoke the 14th Amendment, Section 3, which says,

No Person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Biden will not be allowed to take office and the Left will go berserk, which they’ve shown the capacity for over the last several months. They will attack D.C., and they will probably riot in many of the cities they destroyed in 2020.

The troops in D.C. will not hold back and meet the rioters with force. They will ensure a smooth transition of power to a second Trump term, while rioters are arrested and any government official found to have conspired with the Chinese will be removed, arrested and tried.

Crazy, right?

Or—maybe the militarization of Washington, D.C. is just that: a show of force to make sure the Biden presidency is launched without interference.

Crazy.

  1. I must admit I enjoyed reading that as I ate my Bailey’s Irish Cream chocolate chip cookie. Probably far fetched (that’s why it was fun reading) but not impossible. Have fun watching tomorrow.
